Музыка

Today i tried to make a #spring reverb with a motor???
THE WHEEL OF WD4TUNE haha. if you think this is a good idea ill keep doing it! with my lone can of #WD40
The motor was from the #furby Theres info on the mosfet circuit over on my site, link below.
Next video is my time with a yamaha CS80! there are already stems and samples up on my patreon! If that is of interest go and check it out :) :-

Thanks for all the support, as the above is how i keep this project afloat, as i don't think i'd be able to develop projects like the furby organ and gameboy mega machine otherwise so thanks! :D.

I think you should look into making something with the Disney/Pixar Coco guitar made by Matel. I play guitar myself and this thing has some neat little features that enable you to play out a little song. I'd be interested in seeing what you could come up with. Thanks love your work!

I love it when you momentarily devolve into your regular speaking voice, its like a vinyl record slowing down ever so slightly. Your Mum probably says your voice is going to stay like that one day.

I’m not kidding you: when I was tiny (in the 70’s) I had a spring reverb detached from some amp and each end of the spring had…MOTORS! One sending the sound (small alternating left/right movements of the sound wave), the other capturing the twists and turning them into the electromagnetic impulses of the sound. They were small magnetic electro motors. Thanks for all your vids!

I'd consider myself a mid level tinker-er. If I begin a project like this, I usually have about a 50/50 chance of having a functioning project in the end. Between your super simple oscillator, passive low pass filter and this little mosfet amp, I was able to make them all work on my first try with parts that I had sitting around, which often aren't the exact parts you use, but they work. Thanks for your ideas and your explanations, I've gained a lot from what you are putting out into the world, and I appreciate it. Cheers!

What about modifying a distortion pedal to get the most wicked sounds? Changing the resistors? Like, can we pull a resistor of lessr(greater?) capacity, out of a toaster or some common household appliance, put it in our distortion box, and get an awesome sound?

Absolutely fantastic, you make the world of electronics so much more available for those of us with ADD . XD The immediacy and straightforeward nature of design and testing is just a treat to watch, though you can tell theres a great deal of knowledge and depth behind the playful presentation, cant get enough

I vote adding an elaborate flashy wheel of fortune for each video as a tradition. A DIY video props channel use to do that back in the 'Old West' days of KZread and it was one of the videos' highlights. Could possibly use it to add in challenges or spice things up since the title gives the actual objective away. Video analytics speak greater than what I preach though so I'd take a look at that to see if it's worth the effort.

YES... love it! Although it's a DC motor, the AC signal you are feeding it is simply vibrating the armature and case with the audio signal. You should mount a piezo element directly to the motor for just a weird sound transformator!

Your Hakko will heat up much faster and last a lot longer if you don't put steel wool in there(it dissipates heat and makes the heating element work all the time, it will also get in your solder joints). Search hakko fx-888d to see where you jam the brass wool.

You've got a "little punk reverb" ))) Sam, can it be controlled with "more levels". Maybe you could make a stick with two fixation points for the spring. So you could change the tension and make it sound different. Also you could place the can in some box and maybe make some holes in the can (so the reverb will not be "like in a collector's pipe" type of). I'm sure that the can is resonating and "sends" weird harmonics to the spring.
