I Made A LEGO Spring Reverb That Tune The Springs

Found these super cute vintage spring tanks and wanted to try and make a contraption that can move it back and fourth. So I went with LEGO for a sort of starter project to try and see if it's a good idea.
Not that much of a diff in sound, but it was fun to build never the less!

Why do I have the feeling that in the next video this will have motor control and dampening?

The change was very subtle. I could only really notice it on short transients like the drums. I'd be curious to see how results might vary with tighter or looser springs. Love the concept.

I really admire the construction of this lego mechanism, but have to agree with others that tone change it provides is very subtle.

Beautiful video, and Lego seems to have gotten much more interesting since I last played with it,

great video. loved the silent build video style, similar to "Brick Experiment Channel", then with the really well timed slide in to the music. this was a neat video.

Your workmanship just leveled up big-time, great work! I've had a sort of similar idea, but with an added rotary reverb selector, that has springs, string, metal bars, crumpled tin foil, to get different effects as well as mess with the length and tightness

I could hear the resonant frequency shift a little, causing overdrive in various registers. Honestly, I think you’re onto something, and I’m completely amazed. Who but you could find something brand new to do with this old school tech!

not so much as a difference as i hoped it would sound, but the damping with your fingers sounded awesome. maybe you can put some rubber-finger options on it, like a special mute-like function? maybe on different parts of the spring?

Well Done on the build. Perfect mechanism. I liked the sound when you dampened the springs. It seems like tension and length doesn't make a huge difference. Sounded surprisingly good tho.
