Newport, RI is definitely for the summer - stay at a Bed and Breakfast and visit the cliff walks and beach. Also, Cape Cod and Mystic Seaport in the summer are good choices. Nice backdrop of Yale library in the background on one of the scenes. I've been up in the stacks there. Parks - A lot of the inspiration for parks infrastructure goes back to Theodore Roosevelt, who was a big outdoorsman and poured money into parks. Then during the Great Depression decades later - in the FDR New Deal the USA govt employed millions improving parks.

In the summer you should head up to Massachusetts/Maine and try the lobster rolls. No spices, some have mayo, but most are just bread, lobster and butter.

Connecticut also has lobster rolls. In fact, the buttered lobster roll was created in Connecticut and is traditional here. Maine and Massachusetts used to argue that rolls with mayo were better, but they're slowly coming around to the buttered version, because that's what their customers want.

I know you want to spend at least a semester at Harvard. when you have time in the summer be sure to check out the "JFK Suite" at Harvard where President Kennedy spent his senior year with one of his roommates, and also be sure to do the Freedom Trail in Boston which is the site of the "Cradle of American Liberty." As always, your friends added a lot of zest to your spring break tour of New England. You picked some really good sites, enjoyed everything. I want to see more just like it. I've seen it three times already, probably see it 3 more times before the day is over.

Hello Miss Sunny Soul: Happy Women's Day! I am glad you are doing well. This mini-break you took was amazing. I love old architecture; especially if it has a medieval quality to it. I was surprised how green the forested areas are at this time of the year. I always like when you show what food they have at a given place. Rhode Island has their own version of clam chowder, like NY & Boston. It is a clam broth based. When you visited Providence, RI; if you were anywhere near the train station - it is where they filmed most of the American version of the (2008) movie Hachi with Richard Gere & Joan Allen. It is a most excellent movie if you get to see it. Today is also Hachiko Day in Japan with the "Solemn Celebration" in his honor. His passing was 90 years ago today. He is their national symbol of loyalty. I wish you continued joy and prosperity. I always look forward to viewing from you. And yes the comparisons you shown in your last vlog; concerning Russian and American universities was most interesting. I got learn a bit about it from young European chefs I had worked with back in the 2000's. I hope you get to celebrated yourself and your friends on this special day. Take care & be well!

I grew up in a small North Carolina town (population 1200) and I played basketball with a friend when I was 14 to college age. He came from a highly achievement oriented family. And his older brother managed to get into Harvard University Law School. He was a graduate of a small high school. in my hometown. And back in the 1930s my great uncle's wife's sister went to Yale Divinity School. She was from a neighboring North Carolina town. Yale I hear is a fantastic school with fabulous people. I could not get accepted into any of the Ivy League schools. But they are great places. Your video has been great to watch as your camera angles are quite professional. Also I have followed Natasha's adventures too over the past couple of years and she remains in Tblisi and is learning German and Georgian languages. I hope you all stay in contact with each other. Needless to say have a great time at St. Johns and enjoy America. Enjoyed the video!

I didn't want to pay the money if I knew I probably wouldn't get in. The thing is you do not know what they are looking for. They may want a female Russian in their program, in which case you might be able to score lower and still get in.

Here are some fun facts since this is my home residence: Connecticut is Indian for long river and had a rich indigenous population. The Pequots and Mashantucket tribes opened two super famous casinos named Foxwoods and Mohegan. Hartford, CT was the insurance capital of the world. CT is a legislative state- we write laws. Of course Yale University is one of the premiere universities in all of America. Rhode Island is known for Block Island where you can take the ferry, Newport (Taylor Swift’s summer home) which has the picturesque Cliff Walks, and Jamestown, RI where they hold America’s Cup some years. These two states are among the 13 colonies that first form America when we were a young nation and for that reason they have rich historical significance. Thanks for covering these states. My favorite past time here is going to all the music venues on weekends, love the underground music seen, especially at Toad’s Place in New Haven by Yale.

Wow look at you! Y'all are exploring so much and seeing so much it's awesome to see a glimpse of those adventures! I wish we had anything special down here in Memphis except Beale and the Mississippi but ain't nothing worth visitin for imo. I'd HIGHLY recommend a road trip down to Roadtrip down to Destin Florida! I had a friend who was from Russia, and she and her Dad went down to Destin after I told her about how my family always go on a yearly vacation, and well she went there and said she fell in love with Destin and didn't want to return to work in Memphis! I damn near died from laughter, because she understood what we Memphians say about Memphis all the time, we don't want to go back! Once you walk the beaches of Destin, and then eat on the shoreline, it's truly heaven on Earth! She said her dad already was looking to moving there, so beware, once you experience Destin you WILL more than likely, lose a love for the city life! So save it for after you're tired of NYC lol.

@@DariStepThen how about something in a different direction, namely west, to see attractions in Pennsylvania? Philadelphia of course to see places important to American history. But also more adventurous stuff like rafting on the Lehigh River, or hiking in the Pocono Mountains. Or family-friendly activities like the Crayola Crayon factory, or Hershey Park (a chocolate-themed amusement park). Or continue farther west to visit Pittsburgh.

Thanks for another tour. I'll never see everything myself and that's why I enjoy your videos and explanations. I've been to Harvard now and enjoyed it. I don't know what you're planning for your next long summer break (Except sorting out your Visa/Passport) Maybe you won't understand. I'm a HUGE fan of Elvis Presley. (Did you know his house attracts the most visitors per year?) His house is in Memphis, Tennessee. August is mostly the busiest time. Elvis passed away on 16th of August 1977. They call it Elvis week. It end is on the night of 16/17 August. Various Elvis Clubs get a turn to organize it. Since his death in 1977 the fans got together outside his house for a vigil. Thousands of fans gathered burning candles. It is much more organized now. People use chalk and write their names on the wall. The wall is washed twice a year. After his birthday on 8 Jan and his death in August. It is hot in August. Elvis had only one child. Lisa-Mari. She passed away last year. Her son Benjamin (Elvis' grandson) committed suicide earlier. They were also buried on the same ground.

It's the best time of the week...getting to see your adventures. 🙂 I'm glad you got the chance to explore New England, and I always like how you find a state park to visit in each road trip you take. I hope that this is the start of a lot of trips...there are so many parts of the country worth seeing and I sincerely wish you get the chance to see them all. Here's to a good week back in classes for you 🎉 🥂 and thanks as always for your amazing videos.

You guys had a great trip on your spring break! I enjoy following your travels. If you guys ever get the time, be sure to read more about the life of Roger Williams, who had a contentious career fighting for religious freedom during his day, as well as separation of church and state, which was a HUGE issue in those days (fighting the tyrannic rule of kings and queens and popes). When you visited the State Capitol Building in Providence, I'm surprised you didn't see or show a large bronze statue there called "Independent Man," to honor Roger Williams. Also,William's place of burial was lost, and when they attempted to find it, they think his body may have been consumed by a tree root. This tree root is on display at the John Brown House near Brown University.

Hey Dari, I can understand going north versus south, the weather was perfect, the drive was peaceful, and everything was less hectic. Very nicely done, love the interaction with your friends! Of course, my favorite stop on your tour was the library, incredible. I'm sure you were all on a limited time scheduled, but you less then an hour away from Harvard? 😭😭 Maybe next time! 😁😁 Also, next time you visit a state government building, go to one that has legislators and make sure they are in session. Then you can see government in action (Of course it may or may not be the action we want to see, but it's action😂😂 )! I truly is something to see as it gives you a perspective on how government "Should😉" work(s). The AirBnB was very nice and I thought the price was decent!

I'm surprised you had trouble finding lobster that wasn't spicy in Rhode Island. In Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Maine, you would more likely have to seek out a spicy version. Also, the clams, scallops, and oysters are really good. If you get raw oysters, they can be quite intimidating to look at and kind of gnarly going down, but might be worth it if you want to feel like you're tasting the ocean. Clam chowder is good, too, and is a staple. North of Rhode Island, it's a cream base, so definitely not spicy. Rhode Island style is also good, but it's a broth, so it's more like a soup.

Very interesting trip, cool to see the colleges and their architecture. For our state capital buildings being more open than in other countries, it's probably because the USA was founded on the ideals of the citizens being in control of the government, rather than the government controlling the citizens. So if the ordinary citizens are in control of government, we should be able to visit the government buildings freely, and see how the government is working.
