Seems that person ws mostly talking about battle shounen so I'd also throw in Beastars that goes against what they said. Idk I feel like I could keep naming stuff like Bunny Girl Senpai or even Vinland Saga or go back further and I'd say Steins;Gate, etc....

The thing about Megalobox was despite it's incredible soundtrack and it's amazing ability to generate pure hype, the fights themselves featured next to no choreo. I still thoroughly enjoyed it as it aired, but there was really no reason to go back and watch it or even watch clips of it on KZread, which probably affected it's long term popularity.

I'm surprised he didn't mention Combatants Will Be Dispatched considering it's by the author of Konosuba. To Your Eternity is another one that should be really amazing as it's by the author of A Silent Voice and being made by Brains Base yet somehow I haven't heard anyone talking about it.

Probably cause the konosuba author made another anime last year that was painfully mediocre. That author should've been pumping out more season of konosuba instead of watered down light novels.

@@tylermustappa2982 Konosuba's already done, and I consider Combatants to be quite better and more consistent in terms of comedy than Konosuba (at least the light novels and the manga are), but as for the anime I do feel somewhat miffed by the production quality of the first episode. EDIT: Also, Combatants was actually written before Konosuba from what I heard.

My highlight is the To Your Eternity adaptation that got pushed to this Spring. As long as they take their time and don't rush the material, I have a very good feeling about it. On the other hand, if they try to push all the material out so far into a single season, it might end up a confusing mess. 🤷‍♂️ Either way, I'm hyped for it to finally release!!!

Yeah, I'm excited as hell! The art and character designs are absolutely gorgeous and I can tell that it's gonna be just as dark and metaphorical as the original Gridman was. Plus, they brought back the same singer for the OP and I'm pretty sure the score is done by Shiro Sagisu, just like Gridman. I really hope that it can measure up to Gridman!

Fruit's Basket has been one of my favorites for a while now. I love it.

Please try and check out Shadows House this season if you have the time, it's basically like an extended version of TPN first arc where the kids are trying to unravel the mystery and secrets of the house.

@@-Sparagmos- , spikeman is right. It's one piece in space with a fairytale like magic system. It's like Tsubasa Chronicles in comparison to Cardcaptor Sakura. The art style and Magic system are near a 100% match, but the characters are different enough that, with the exception of the manga authors personal otps, everything else can be entirely different, including the story structure.

I cannot wait for Shaman King, it's one of the most goated mangas I've read; I'll be so upset if Netflix gatekeeps it

Seeing Meggido again warms my small black heart. That scene was so good.

"To your eternity" "Combatants will be dispatched" "Mars Red" "Princess Snow and Blood" "Tokyo Revengers" Sequels-"Demon school, Iruma-kun" and "How not to summon a Demon Lord" All of these are underrated shows that not many are talking about, Mars Red and Princess Snow n Blood for sure made waves with their first episodes! Spring anime is going to be an absolute powerhouse for awesome shows!

I've been introduced to Fruits basket by you and ever since then I've been singing its praises to everyone i know in the anime communities. I'm right there with you in the minority!

I'm excited for Marimashita Iruma-kun (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun) and Fumetsu no Anata (To your eternity)

You should really check out Mars Red. The watercolor like backgrounds are beautiful, the CG blends well with the setting, and the story is a beautifully bittersweet dark, if the first episode is anything to base it on.

Can't believe he missed out on the biggest sequel coming out next season ... . . . . Mairimashita Iruma-kun.

I'm excited for second seasons of Mairimashita! Iruma-kun, and How not to summon a demon lord. There's also the anime adaption of The World Ends With You which looks pretty good even though I never played the game. Shaman King being in Netflix jail is tragic... I'm not going to wait but I seriously feel sorry for the people that will have to, the first episode looked great if a little quick paced.

I didn't even realize it was a 3rd season for log horizon. Holy crap time for big rewatch

Honestly, don't bother. I finished the first season while it aired and it was alright, but somehow never got around watching the second season. That is until the third was almost airing. So I watched the 2nd a bit before the 3rd started airing and it was boring. Also finished the 3rd one, but it got even worse. They just threw to much in the series. Adventure raids/fights, like you would usually do in that type of games and political structuring a self sufficient country, where the NPCs aren't really fond of you and governing that state. In the end there wasn't enough of either. And the "main" plot of trying to get out of the game was almost forgotten.

Meh. It would be a much better series if they just completely cut out the children. Seriously. The politics, world, exposition and dialogue is all really cleverly done. Much better than most video game fantasy world shows. The issue is that they cut away from the interesting characters and clever writing to give us the adventures of some children new to the game? It's like the show is trying to cater to the people who like the depth of the series AND the people who just want simplistic fights and little discussion. S1 was great, but it got more trivialized over time so that the people who didn't like all the discussion was better entertained... It's a shame. If they just stuck to Shiroe, the politics, and the 'city building', it'd be worth the watch.

@@pagatryx5451 Honestly the use of the kids as a plot point made a lot more sense when reading the light novels. The author used them to provide a different perspective of how people viewed the game from further down the totem pole; what the level 90+ players are able to do causes a lot of stuff to get overlooked that the lower level (20-60 for the kids party) is able to bring to light, and also helped better explain the growing conflict of the Haves (Lvl 90+ and/or embracing being stuck in Theldesia) and the Have Not’s (ie Lower level players and/or not able to easily adapt to the world around them).

I have been waiting for this vid since last week when the season was coming to a close! I'm generally new to anime as I started watching 3 years ago but I watch a ton of your videos and I'm always glad you have all these anyone recommendations and provide them for all of us newer watchers out there! It seems my list is similar to yours right now with the Zombieland Saga, Fruits Basket, and both of the Slime Anime! I'm looking into that I brought a high school girl home one, "It's to sick to call this love", "The romcom where the childhood friend won't lose", "The saints magic power is omnipotent", and Tokyo Revengers as well. I don't know as much about anime as you but I would be really honored if you would consider any of those shows! Keep up the awesome content and work!

I watched the original fruits basket anime and it was the first anime I ever purchased for myself I had to get that series on DVD so I'm really glad to see the series finally getting finished and I will be buying this new series when it is complete on DVD

I'm most looking forward to Shadows House. I had never heard of it until I saw it on the chart for this season. However, the synopsis intrigued me so I went and read the manga and it's become one of my all time favorites. Its an unusual combination of genres (slice of life, mystery, fantasy, and just a bit of horror) that shouldn't work, but somehow does. The closest comparison I can make is The Promised Neverland, but the tone is often more lighthearted. If the adaptation is executed well, then I expect it to be a sleeper hit this season.

I remember watching Shaman King as a kid, nice to see it being remade.

There's a sequel to SSSS.Gridman coming out this season and I am HERE for that shit. Never thought that series would get a sequel but it absolutely deserved one.

For me, I'm excited for Zombieland Saga Revenge, The SSSS Gridman Sequel and The World Ends With You (or TWEWY) anime (that's apparently meant to come out sometime this april.)

I managed to keep up with 12 series last season and I'm both sad and kinda relieved

I finished Megalobox when it aired and enjoyed it quite a lot. Never really got the backlash, but I also didn't watch Ashita no Joe, so maybe not having preconceptions about what Megalobox would be going in made that different for me.

Wait you forgot' Odd taxi' It's a nice series y'know. It's seriously underrated

The fact that Megalobox and Reincarnated as a slime both first aired in 2018 and darling in the franxx and bunny girl senpai arent returning for a second season is soo sad. These were like some of the most hyped up 2018 titles

The TWEWY anime is the one I am hyped for.

I'll be looking forward to how Super Cub and Mars Red develop this season.

Shaman king is definitely my anime to watch not only this season but this year I love the original manga and anime and to get the brotherhood treatment is awesome I may have to wait until Netflix released it but its gonna be worth it because love the story and characters its gonna be awesome

If you don't give Mars Red at least a chance, then I will get my covid shots, book a flight to Canada, lose it due to traffic, book another one a week later, find your studio, and deliver a strongly worded letter under your door.

The show I'm looking forward to the most (that wasn't already mentioned) is Hige wo Soru. I've been reading its manga, so this'll be the first time I've ever seen an anime after reading the manga. Plus, since it's originally a light novel, the anime might cover more of the story than the manga has, or cover the existing material in a different way than the manga, and that just makes me more excited.

Looking forward to Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro and Super Cub, though the latter seems to be a slice of life/Honda Motorcycle commercial. I'm surprised you failed to mention Odd Taxi.

The first two episodes of Vivy were really good!

You covered pretty much most of what I'm watching - aside from the new season of Hero Aca. I'll also be checking out World Ends With You, and Combatants Will Be Dispatched (aka - Team Rocket gets Isekaied).

No mention if Iruma-kun's sequel saddens me. The first season is already criminally underrated.

I read the manga for Shadow House and its a good mystery story. Hope the anime keeps the suspense as well. I'll recommend giving it 3 episodes.
