Up here in the northern Ohio I got a couple patches of pure fescue and people go nuts for good grass hay up here cause it’s all alfalfa and junk grass people will mow along the rivers. I grow mostly alfalfa cause that’s my main market but my buyers get all excited when I offer them good grass hay. Good video, it’s always interesting hearing how the different parts of the country raise hay

You need a Tedder in New England here as well to make good quality dry hay too.

A lot of people here in Maine use them cuts drying time down and helps us get more cuts in our short season

Thanks for sharing info on your field work. You're way ahead of us in growth, we still have snow melting and frost in the ground but going to be in the 60's end of the week. I'm going to be buying a Tedder this year, I've heard a Tedder can knock off a day or two in dry down time. Thanks again, and take care👍

I used to spray my hay fields every year with herbicides that seemed to get more and more expensive every year. I looked at them and they looked just like yours, I can see patches in your video showing that grass does not uniformly cover your ground. I'm in Virginia btw. I spent time and seeded those holes so grass covers the entire ground and I have not had to spray in the last 3 years. What I spent money on is fertilizer and my yields are 8x what they would be. I average 3 cuttings now where before I was lucky to get 2.

Yep, without a tedder in my area, you're not gonna make good hay. You would have to wait until mid July to take first cut, then turn it over a few time with a rake. Our problem with weeds is we have clay, so getting out to spray before first crop aint happening! You'd just sink like a rock in my fields. Lol

Set a roll of anything you want out and a roll of crabgrass.....guarentee they eat crabcrass first

It won’t be long. I’m still fertilizing but hope to be spraying by next week. I chose to use litter and spread myself this year instead of commercial fert. I like the new setup pretty sweet. I currently have to do everything with my phone I don’t have any other cameras or a computer yet but hope to maybe find a drone and computer soon. I’ve always thought you have great quality videos. The weeds are growing great here in SC as well. Hopeful for a good 2019 hay season.

i ted every time. i spray gordens pasture pro-2-4-d and a 2-4-d-b- blend. so what do you use!!
