It's time to pass a law like they did in Alabama that requires each catalytic converter to be reported to the state and the seller to produce their driver's license each and every time.

how about they make it illegal for scarp yards to buy them without id and 30 day hold make them do just like pawn shop

I wish the article had stated the high heat paint used since most high heat paints are 200 to 600F and the convert exterior is said to be hotter ( range over 800F and higher)

If you really want to keep your catalytic converters I have a foolproof way of doing just that and I'm not even going to charge you for it here's how you do it you hook a 110 or 220 to the underside of your car at night and wait for the screaming to begin I do it and it works

Now the thieves know those paint are nonsense.

i rent storage at uhaul the guys rv parked next to mine got taken but mine didn't. i painted mine orange and it worked great they left those baby's alone, that paint is baked in there it will not fully come off i think i might give them a another coat this year.

Nice to see a pd that actually cares though. I just had mine stolen. Went to file the police report and the police lady put me on the spot saying "what were you doing parked there? Why did you take half a day to report it? Do you know anyone that might have done it?...". Really??? Bad enough they can't/ or won't do anything. They are gonna try to make me look scandalous and stupid for trying. Ridiculous

Those shops steal catalytic converter from customers daily. I demand my old cat back if it has to be changed out. Either give me the cat back or take $100 off the bill..

it is painted because the thieves have to remove the paint before they can sell it...

They cut up the footage very badly. She may just be a pleasant person. Editing is EVERYTHING they could have made her look like a stalker with editing.
