If you is interested in spray painting the best success that i've ever had was by using the Magic Painter Method (just google it) definately the best course that I've followed.

hey i just wanted to say thank you. i painted my 1990 honda crx with rustoleum high gloss black and the spraymax 2k clear all with the cans just like how you did your wifes pink crv and that blue fender and i want to say my car never looked any better. wouldn't have done it if it werent for you. so thank you so much. it was funny because the lady at the paint store told me my car would never come out shiny black. i was almost gonna not do it because of her. she also said the paint wouldnt last long. prolly only 6 months she said but i have seen ur update vids so i was so confused. i ended up doing it anyway. got hella orange peel the first time but wetsanded and buffed then polished like u showed. still tryna learn how to buff. didnt know black was the hardest color to buff out lol but when the sun is down it looks really nice!!! thank you so much. imma upload my paint project on my drive to show u. wanted to tell u all this after hearing u say you hope this helps someone. well know u did! even my dad was skeptical about me using the cans. especially when he was there when the girl talked hella shit. thanks man! edit: heres the link to my paint project. again thanks! drive.google.com/folderview?id=1hIEkvNgXO4EOk091D6ZKx-pGsaPEM5CR

Thanks for posting this comment and the pics of you're crx. It looks great and I'm planning on doing to same thing. Black as well maybe, even if the buffing is hard I'll still try it. If you can do it then so can I.

What I love about this is that through the use of some simple yet clever tactics, you're able to achieve professional results. Sometimes you just don't want to, or can't spend $$$$, but you want that faded paint to look better. Especially with that 2k clear on top, you'll get a lot of mileage out of that paint job. Great job and thank you so much for sharing!!!

After watching your videos I decided to paint my convertible red. If people follow your instructions you can get a remarkable paint job. One thing in the video for the green and black car you said to use Rustoleum 2x which works fantastically well. The 2k spray paint is a mess to use and be very careful the paint sometimes drips out of the can. You will be doing some sanding and buffing. follow his directions and you can get a great paint job. I had never painted a whole car before. People can't believe I painted it myself and no one believes it was all from spray cans. It is a lot of work but the results can be amazing. Thank you for your videos, you are the king.

Richard Ward that’s awesome and appreciate the kind comment btw. I prefer the advanced formula over all else but with the 2k clear over it the car will look great can’t wait till I’m finished

I switched to the advanced formula because the 2X sometimes sprays out weird while using it. Thinks it's the primer in it maybe. The advanced sprays out perfect.

Just found this vid & I loved it. Getting ready to paint the hood on the wife's 2003 Suburban, got that clear coat peeling like so many GM products. I checked into high $ mixed factory paint... even with this stimulus check coming, it's still too much $$. Since the Suburban is gloss black, I'll use Rustoleum gloss black. The hood is in excellent shape, so I'll follow your directions on sanding & cleaning. I know the color will be off some, but close enough is alright for this poor country guy. Can't say boy... I'm going on 70 LOL. Subscribed, and thanks for taking the time to do this educational video.

Moore Motorsports James Dguy today I tested it on the hood of my truck (very large surface) so I was scared of runs and lines. But it really turned out awesome. I could of spent hours just in sanding and body work, but for the most part things were sanded 320/400 & degreased, just primed the bare metal parts because I’m cheap, and it all came out really sweet looking, thank you for the confidence.

I really like your videos. I plan to paint my Fiero (plastic body panels) in my garage either with spray cans or electric sprayer (like you did the gray Honda). What suggestions would you make if using a metallic color? What's the best way to avoid blotches? I tried to just paint some metallic stripes with a rattle can on a black hood and was very unhappy with the results. The paint came out very rough and the metallic was very uneven. Also, because the panels are various types of plastic, what do you think of using Krylon Fusion?

David Bowser Thanks check my other videos I have better than this on my channel. I have a gun and everything just like how the can is shake and spray not. Pull compressor out, get water separator cleaned out, get gun out and make sure it’s cleaned, mix paint, reduce paint, test paint/adjust paint gun, make sure compressor stays charged up enough during painting. Then clean gun and paint area when finished and so on. It’s a easier process and quicker and I’m on limited time as it is so it is economical. But when I have the time and place to do it I prefer using the gun

Patrick Griego Films I would wet sand everything lightly until it’s uniform then either reshoot or add the clear. Hope that helps if not message me on Instagram.com/lucky_irish_mechanic

What grit did u use for wet sanding? 😁 im about to paint my hood this week,, to bad audio gone for the important part,,,

I sprayed my Lexus is300 hood twice using sunset red rusto spray cans attached to a spray gun. I did wet sand, both electric sand and by hand. I was frustrated why the tiger stripes kept appearing??? 2nd time was less. I went ahead and clear coat it anyway. you’re absolutely right. it had to be because of the direct sunlight 100 degrees out. So I sticker bomb the hood with my nieces using anime stickers now. My quarter panel rusted out so I grind it down and used bondo. Otherwise I was surprised how with the results using rust spray cans from Home Depot. The rest of my Lexus body parts from fenders to wing turned out well from rusto spray.

what happens if you don't wet sand between prime and top coat? I'm doing a whole car so it will need to be taped up first, meaning I wont be able to wet sand without needing to tape up twice, which is quite a big job in itself.

That's a really narrow fan on those spray cans. Would have been nice if they made a nozzle that sprayed wider. Makes me want to buy an old beater to play around with.

Ps make sure the clear wont wrinkle the paint. Make sure the clear is compatible with enamel.

BULLI KID I have a lot of videos showing me use the 2k clear over Rustoleum and that’s why I don’t like using Rustoleum clear coat because it usually causes wrinkles

Awesome video!! This is the stuff I love!! Can’t wait to see more. You should give the Duplicolor Automotive Filler/Primer a try. It’s got an amazing fan width and awesome coverage for a rattle can. I haven’t found anything better thus far. 🙏🏻✌🏻

A Palmer Inlike the fan of duplicolor but this Rustoleum shoots how I like too. But by far the best I ever shot was with the 2K spray max fan tip. It has duplicolor and Rustoleum tips mixed into 1

A Palmer Yes they make a 2k primer, 2k color and 2k clear. It’s expensive route but the results are incredible
