I'd like to see how much the glow pigment influences the shade. Like a side by side with and without. I say this, because I think it'd be amazing to use a glow mix to make a design that is invisible during the day and visible at night. But to do that and have it be invisible, the shades would have to be nearly identical.

what you could try doing instead is this: sppray just the standard pearls base coat over everything. then mask off half of your design on the body with tape or vinyl or something, then spray the glow pigment mixed with an evaporative thinner to atomize it (just like DipYourCar did to paint pearls over musou black), and spray only the design area with the glow

I kinda knew the glow pigment wasn't going to affect the colors, but was taken aback by just how much GLOW they still had considering how meh most glow pigment is. But in a sense a lot ofglow pigment is actually kind of "clear" when it dries unless it doesn't have other colors to contend with. The pigment isn't very visible to the human eye at that point. Kinda like how certain other white stuff can be actually clear. Like with acrylic paints, you can add a "medium" to them that thins them down without losing consistency as much as with water, so that they go on with more transparency so that if you're building up colors, the under layers still play a role. Also Elmer's school glue is very white until it dries. But seriously. I've never seen anything glow this intensely while being mixed with another color. That's impressive, and I want a car with this now.

What would be really cool... if you paint the car normally and put the glow affect only on certain areas of the car. Cool ideas for this: - A "Starsky and Hutch" style racing stripe on the side / roof that you only see in the dark. - Apply it only around where any chrome and logos are - and around windows - Do one of those "fire paint jobs", but have the flames glow in the dark. - Do only around edges with a black background, giving your car the "Tron" look at night. so many ideas

"What Happens" Experiment. Hear me out. Glossy Dip. ZTR Hypershift + ThermoShift. ZTX Hypershift + Glow Pigment. Have one hypershift show when hot with water, have another show when dry, and have it all glow in the dark. Sounds good in theory, but what would happen?

That's what I asked in the Thermo Shift Video.. But instead of Hypershift Color I asked for the ultra bright yellow Cause I think that the brightness could help the Glow in the Dark effect

  • @austinphelpshd3169

My idea was more like. ZTR as the visible color but when hit with water, it changes to a different color hypershift and have some glow pigments, or... what if there was like colored glow pigments so its not just a bright green, what if its like a bright purple or blue?

Thermoshift on top would block the glow pigment from "charging" unless hot, wouldn't it? I don't think this would work at all unfortunately. Neat idea though.

I really enjoy all your videos but glow in the dark stuff has always been fascinating to me ever since I was a kid. So this combined with the beautiful pearls is just way too badass! Favorite video so far! Would love to see this full scale! Also, for about how long did these glow? 5 minutes? More?

I'm just curious, you're the expert, but why do you start with a black base as opposed to a white base? Also, I love the dramatic music you play while mixing your paints lol🥰

  • @auroraborealis13579

I’m no expert either, but if it works the same as make up, the black base actually helps the pigment pop. It’s a trick to use black paint or eyeliner under really colorful (especially the pigments that have sheen or shift) eyeshadows to make the most out of the color. .....it’s late and I’m so tired. I hope this helped. I did not do my best at explaining.

That's pretty wild. One thing: If you're using ZnS type glow pigment, the glow time is going to be seriously crap. Strontium Aluminate gives far stronger and longer output but I gather it's much harder to work with in paints. Supposedly if you mill the crystals too fine, they stop working.

Any chance you guys could make a starter dip kit with glow? Id do everything in glow if I could do some sweet mixes like that Bora or Tahitian. I live in Alaska, so I'm pretty sure I could rock it risk free, because our vehicle laws are way lenient. What would be sweet is just doing like the front bumper or accent areas around the headlight bezels if you love somewhere not as cool. That way when you turn your headlights off you have that after glow effect.

Little did I realize how strong the stealth ASMR was with this channel with the crazy mixing and pouring montages. Sheesh!! In the end, a really cool result, though.
