SPRAY A HOUSE WITH ME! PAINT SPRAYING TIPS & TRICKS

Paint an exterior of this home with me!
I’ll take you through my paint spraying process, from machine setup to laying down two coats on these FC weatherboards. I swear by spray, it doesn’t matter if it is windy, or too small of a job, it can always be sprayed.
This is how I achieved a beautiful, seamless finish on the exterior of this home. I cover how to adjust your Graco CleanShot Shut-Off Valve and more importantly, how I dial in and choose the right spray tip size when spraying these exteriors. Spray pressure is so dependant on so many different factors, such as thickness of the paint, dry time, temperature on the day, length of hose, the size and power of your airless sprayer, and lastly the tip size to achieve the right amount of film build on the surface you’re spraying.
Follow along, let me know if you have any questions in the comments below. I’ve included the gear used in this video. As always, much love for all the support this awesome KZread family throws my way; it means a tonne to myself and the fam.

That was great video. I watch all your videos, all the way through. Usually when I’m cleaning my sprayer after painting all day (fuck’d eh? 🇨🇦) and don’t ever comment and thank you, but I should. So here goes. Thank you for sharing all you do. The experience based knowledge and your way way of talking taking about what a professional painter really gives a fuck about, is awesome. Professional development at its finest and for someone who’s working all day painting and running a business, etc. this videos are gems. What I learn from watching your videos I use on my jobs on daily. Seriously. From masking everything like a crazy person (based on your video) to adding ti all my estimates “I sand before and between coats,” to buying a #gracoquickshot a couple weeks ago based 100% on your videos and your enthusiastic endorsement. Your videos are full of gems, a great example at 4m 12s in this video. This is the stuff that UNBELIEVABLY VALUABLE. There everywhere and this is just one. That’s enough. Thank you Jacob. Seriously, thanks a lot Man and please keep the videos coming 👍

Finished product is really nice. Why not use one piece of plastic instead of paper? I’ve heard a tip only lasts about 40 gallons. Your prep work makes all the difference.

I dont recommend any exterior spray painting. Risky work with neighbours. Paint particle could be miles away from the house even though low pressure. I can see from video as well. I have seen 2 cases from previous company that one claim made from neighbour paint particle laid over all over the her car and exterior wall on the house it was like a dots everywhere and the other one from commercial warehouse owner. He claimed 200k for 10 parked cars and all the tinted windows. Bad ending, took 2 years to finalise it. I dont know how this guy work like this. But, its not what you should do. This is not really helpful video. Just use your brush and roller. Take more time to finish instead of using short cut.

Hi Bow, I have been spraying residential, commercial exterior work for over 25 years. It comes down to experience, knowledge on how to achieve the right finish withoutspraying the neighbourhood. This may be the difference from a professional to an amateur. We ant all the same. You may need some more practice. 👍

And how is spraying taking short cuts? Brushing and rolling can never achieve the finish my clients desire. Get with the times or get left behind. We spend weeks on preparing the surfaces to spray for a few days. You would rather work harder & longer to achieve a sub standard finish? You do you brother

Damn that’s crazy. I would never in a million years even think about rolling and brushing an entire house . I might roll the trim color depending on the conditions and colors and amount of trim . No two jobs are the same , but I guess to each his own . Theirs a reason cars get sprayed and not rolled and brushed . You just can’t get thats crisp finish . You just can’t. Plus the bonding is a whole lot better . Many argue rolling adheres better but that’s false in my opinion . Example. Get a spray can and spray a light mist of paint on a piece of metal . Then on the same metal hold the tip down on the spray can and let the paint build up just a little . Once they both dry you can go right up and chip or peel that thick coat right off but you will be scrubbing that little mist for a bit . GUNS UP POLES DOWN!
