70 MPH is definately not an average little league pitcher. Average would closer to 60-65. Most kids pitch between mid 50s to 70ish. Average elite in little league is maybe 70 at Williamsport with a rare 75-80 monster emerging.

Ok although the little league bat has a smaller sweet spot a wood is about drop three and longer so it’s way harder to swing and it’s super hard to hit homers with a wood bat. Plus the field is 300+ feet and the bases are 90 ft apart also the pitcher have curveballs, sliders, change ups, and knuckleballs it is super hard to hit off a mlb pitcher

They talk about little leaguers hitting so many home runs, but it's only a 200' fence. When I was about 12 years old (5 years ago), our average fences were 300' or more. Many of our hits to the outfield would have been home runs on their field. And they can not lead off the base, which is strange for being 12/13 years old.

This is a dumb comparison. I'm in 50/70 and the fences range from 225-320 ft. Most 12 year olds throw around 55-66 mph, unless your really lanky or big you can throw faster. 13 year olds range from around 60-73. And once again if your bigger you'll throw faster. Bats are not limited in "LittleLeague" you can pretty use any bat. In "50/70 , and 60/80" you can only use BBCOR .50 bats. Which have less pop, and are heavier. The MLB is not even comparable to LL. If Giancarlo got up to the plate with a BBCOR bat he would hit it 550 ft+.

Yeah it looks crazy on stats, but also the LLWS players have a problem, their swing is more horizontally, which in any other league wouldn't give them an easy HR, that normally accounts for a single (when you are lucky). In Japan most of those players that Play on the LLWS never get to play at Koshien (where the best High school teams play a tournament in a professional stadium and is aired on national tv). In my case I was on a little league but only for practice, and we didn't play many official games, by the time I was on middle school, players that were on the LLWS were normally bench or only were put on the game to field the last inning when the regulars were tired. Aluminum bats are very different to wooden bats, and since im used to wooden bats when I play with aluminum bats I perform worse. I always use a more diagonal swing to be able to pull the ball up and get the ball over the infield. A stronger swing is needed to get a HR, but the most important part is the contact, power without contact doesn't mean anything.

Also, for the people saying "I've never seen anyone hit 70" must not play All-Star or higher levels because mid 60s becomes average (at least in Florida). I'm 28 now and play for an adult league and I love the change over to BBCOR. You have to hit it on the screws to earn the hits, and they react similar to wood. If LL introduces a change to BBCOR type standards with like a -7 or -10, the good players would stand out. I'm sorry but watching the LLWS is dumb. 1/2 the HRs are half-ass contact.

Maybe very true! True talent though can't be measured in feet. You have it or you don't and takes a lot of work to develop those skills.

If most kids in little are 13 and 14 with 46ft mounds, then why am I playing 12AAA on 50ft mounds

all these players grew up in different times and all lived in different areas. I highly doubt a 32 year old man has coached 500 kids in different states and countries.

i agree, i play pony and the average pitcher is around 60s (12-13 years old), i dont know about LL but we dont have "fences" sometimes when we go to other places they have fences but they are usually lik 300ft which is pretty hard to hit over..Btw i live in hawaii so it may be different. And most kids on my team throw 65 average.

Actually no. First, i'm in American Legion which we are only aloud to use wood bats. These kids are not even using BBCOR, so these Easton powerized bats with composite shit can put 100 more feet on a ball that you barley hit. Ive thrown 6 complete games with 10 or more strikeouts. This past summer season not including middle school ball ive had 35 strikeouts. Watch these kids swing, its an uppercut with contact and the bat does the rest. LLWS is a homerun derby for kids the size of 16 year olds.

When I was 12 I was playing up in 14u in travel ball. I pitched off the 60ft 6in mound and did pretty well. These kids are "famous" when they are 13 and pitching off 46 ft mounds and 60ft base paths. For fun, I looked it up and the fields are the same as 8u travel ball. I hope people know that the LLWS is OVERRATED but at least these kids are trying and not sitting on their butts playing Fortnite all day.
