He had a standing vertical of 34" and a one step vertical of 40" and no one really knows his running vertical but it had to be around 48" if I had to guess. This video didn't do their research at all 35" vertical dude can stil dunk with ease after all them injuries. There's recent vids of him in china dunking with ease.

Injuries derailed the expected career path for D Rose. But I believe the end result will still be the same. And that would be championships, leagues best PG for years to come. And in the MVP discussion year after year. He'll get there eventually, and as he showed against the Cavs it takes time. Keep it up D Rose
Derrick Rose, will be, and is going to be the only person to ever come close to being the next Michael Jordan. This kid is (in my opinion) the greatest NBA player in the league right now. He's my idol. I don't play Basketball, but everytime I watch his highlights, videos, games, dunks etc.... It makes me want to play! He's is a beast!

This was before his 2010-11 season where he was an absolute freak. In his MVP season (10-11), his vertical was probably close to 43 inches. And I'd say he was definitely running AT LEAST 25mph.

rose is one of my favorite players in nba who have incridble ankle breaking move..
There are two different kinds of vertical leaps: running and standing. However, the one used in general to refer to an athlete's official vertical leap is the standing vertical leap. Therefore, Sports Science, a show that places emphasis on statistics and empirical data, must use the measurement for Rose's standing vertical leap.

@LiilT360 They're referring to standing vertical jump (no running) which yea, DRose may or may not have greater than a 35 inch vertical jump. The 40+ inch jumps he and others can do is always off a running start, which is a different stat.

Random youtube recommendations but thank you youtube. Rose is back
@pinoz27 LOOK up 2008 NBA combine... it actually is 34.5''.
@pinoz27 Hi there. Yeah his MAX vert from the combine is 40''. My point is just that there is not need or us to speculate or guess... if there has actually been official tested and the numbers are easy to fined. and oh btw... for him to tough the rim with his head .. he would need a vert of 45... I am same height as him and could jump about the same (once upon a time).. could not get my head to the rim.. :(
Rose drops 50 points against the Jazz!!! #MVP
@Newmaidumosa yes but he can reach the rim with his head..this means his max vert is 40 or more...if we speak about his no step vert, so yeah it might be 34.5"
@MultiScienceMan speed you can get if you know the length of the court and how long he took to travel that length, rotation same thing, from replays you can calculate how long he took to turn 360. Like they said it is an estimate so I'm guessing their numbers are pretty rough.
@brye4407 I think it was a bigger deal, because how much Derrick improved over the last three seasons at the three. Lord knows how good he'll be from the thrice stripe in 2-3 years when he enters his prime.
"No description available." I Like that
@julzamus i think they were referring to how high he leaps for his average jumpshot
According to Draft Express, he's 6'1.5" without shoes and 6'2.5" with shoes. He has a no step vertical of 34.5 and a max vert of 40.
Always my MVP!
Awesome
@Zandros It's the same in NCAA, I watch a game and I see travels and carries all over the place now.
i freakin love these things haha
This is why he's my fav..
the reason rose scored more is because he is a gaurd jordon was a shooting guard and a power forward, and he still almost scored as much as rose did in a single season
1 of the best mvp
Definitely had a bigger vert than 35. Probably a 45😎👌🏽😎
because they're arguably the two best bulls of all time
DRose was so explosive his own knees couldn't take it. The new DRose scored 50 last night though
I have a question. I know this is kinda random but...do your points u have in the playoffs count toward your overall career points?

+funkykriz21 He's slowly getting better i mean he still has the hops to do circus layups
wow that's great product.
@gwmkwan why A.I.'s crossovers was illegal? :O
Thank you.
One last stat, Scottie Pippen's highest season 3 pt total was 156 in 1996-97. That's 70 less than Korver's highest 3pt total.
Ya in the I think 2009 dunk contest!
Rose's vertical is far higher than 35 inches. It's easy to find footage of him in high-school on youtube. waltzing in at a slow pace, jumping off two feet, and dunking with his head at rim-height. His static vert would be much higher than 35 inches; his vert with a step into it would be up around 45.
There was only 7 players last season who averaged more assists than Rose. Only three managed to average more than one assist higher than Rose (Rondo, Paul, and Nash). Just because a point guard is capable of scoring does not mean they are no longer a point guard. Isiah Thomas certainly wasn't a shooting guard, yet he averaged over 20 points a game in his prime while still dishing out a lot of assists.
Other way around. MJ shot more 3s as his career progressed because he got better at them AND because they became more important to the NBA game. People forget that the 3pt line didn't come into the NBA until 1980. The NCAA didn't fully adopt the 3 until 1986. Players of MJ's era didn't learn to shoot that distance, especially if they had that ability to drive. It took the NBA about 10 years to learn what to do with 3s. In the 80s only specialists shot 3s, 90s had far more, and today it's major.
it was angular velocity. not how many he did but how many he could have done in a second
Too many great talents that had ruined by injuries in the NBA like Oden and Roy, but Rose was definitely the best.
D Rose uses wormholes on the court to get from point A to point B so quickly.
@julzamus those things vary from time to time no one realy stays at same vert
rose vertical is 42 last time i checked he jumps a little over half his body on some dunks without bending his legs. to get a 6 3 heat a few inches away from the rim is crazy hops
@paltukmo thats his standing vert.. his max vert is 40
do he need to do the 1:04 ready move in order to dribble?
Damn it hurts watching this in 2018
I feel bad like other people on his injury he might be the King's Greatest enemy
Because he played for the same team, he is rose's idol, he lead his his team in the same way that Rose is, they both have won MVP and they are the only players on the bulls to do so. I hate when people act like MJ is a god that no one can compare to, I'm not saying that rose is better (He's not) but as the greatest player ever he is going to be compared to today's stars, personally i think rose has the POTENTIAL to be better than MJ, but if he uses it is something we will have to see.
well you also use your knees a lot when youre doing crossovers. his quick movements mightve been too much for his body to handle
a guard is a point guard. a point guard is the guy that gets the ball passed when the other team scores. shooting guard and guard are 2 different things. for ex. john lucas the 3rd is a point guard. he gets the ball. kyle korver is a shooting guard. he shoots.
He is having a good season now
@paltukmo i think he has 35 standing, but his running vert is like 44 i think
he is definitely an ankle breaker lo
35 inches is 7 inches higher than the average standing vertical. Most players have a better max vertical, which is done when running. However not that many NBA players have a 40+ vert. A 40+ is well above average. Derrick rose has a 35 inch standing vert and a 40 inch max/running vert.
I love rose and im not trying to take anything away from him, but the league in jordan's time was far more competitive than it is now. players were trying to establish their names on their own teams instead of teaming up into big 3's (not saying that big 3's didnt exist at the time). so the talent on each team was way more balanced which is why i think it took jordan longer to get that 60+ win season
@paulgeorge9228
Жыл бұрын
yeap with hard fouls too
@conkelDERP I think its more of a complement seeing as he's suggesting that Jordan has become the benchmark
3× NBA steals champion (1988, 1990, 1993) 10× All-NBA First Team (1987-1993, 1996-1998) All-NBA Second Team (1985) 9× NBA All-Defensive First Team (1988-1993, 1996-1998) NBA All-Rookie First Team (1985) 2× NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion (1987-1988) I needed 2 comments to list down just 1/12 of his achievements.
@paltukmo his standing vert is 35 not with a running start
So underrated.
Happy birthday rose
@Labruin1414 I think he was just talking about his vertical on drose's jumpshot. I'm 5'11'' with a 35 inch vertical. I can grab and hang with 2 hands on the rim but i'm no where close to dunking. my hands are too small to palm the ball on a dunk
The reason D Rose can do this. Is. Are you ready? Is because he is a boss. Nuff said
Mj didn't take 3's because he didn't want to rely on the 3 pointer. He said if he kept shooting 3's he would not do other things on the court.
@MyturBenisdurty i believe its like 42 the man gets his head near rim level on some dunks.
He breaks his ankles😂
