    swedish pimples loaded with spikes with the right rip and fall, rip and fall rip and fall many fish hit on the end of fall before u rip back up. but the fall has to be just right where it kinda shimmy down. I know crappie like it, bass, blue gill perch I haven't had much experience with walleye yet with it I know it will work. easy pop holes everywhere let area get quiet and keep hole hopping

    Never seen specific minnow head treble hooks. I've been moding my own treble hooks tho on my spoons and they're the exact same and probably cheaper by taking the treble off my spoons or whatever lure and attaching a mustad fastach clip to the ring then my treble hook onto the fastach. They're the exact same snaps as on the minnow head trebles

    On the minnow head hooks, do you ever use the preserved minnows you can get at Meijer or other big box stores? It seems like they'd smell better than most plastic minnow heads. Sometimes I can't get to a bait shop if my fishing trip is a last minute sorta thing.

    I could never understand the concept of putting bait on a lure! Why not save money and use a simple hook with bait above a torpedo sinker? Why spend money (guilty as charged) on lures where the cut bait is what gets them?

  • @danielholtxxl4936

    @danielholtxxl4936

    4 жыл бұрын

    The lure is the "lure" - seriously. You "lure" them in from a distance with the lure and then, yes, the cut bait closes the deal.

    About your recipe for smoked fish i have been smoking fish for over 50 years your recipe will pass of alot of people that will try it and have fish way to salty to eat it. The biggest mistake is not rinsing the fish after soaking in a brine I soak my fish for a 30 minutes in cold water. This gets the excess salt out of the thinner parts. The salt will equalize back into these areas when smoking you should let fish dry off before cooking My recipe is 1gallon water 1 an 1/4 cups canning salt an 1 cup brown sugar dissolved in a cup of hot water stir till all salt is dissolved add fish keep cold. Remember the soaking time and rinsing time is critical for split fish 14 to 16 hours whole fish 20 to 24 hour an than half hour cold water rinse drain an air dry then smoke. Also keep in mind lean fish will absorb the salt faster than salmon or whitefish even some trout will soak up more salt than salmon Keep track of what you do and adjust accordingly next time you smoke fish
