Thats exactly how I have my drag setup on my tig 130, the tigs dont have a good preset system for lbsf, but they are very reliable and powerful reels

Hey Hey That was good . I always do the same with the river rods. Never want to assume the line is good. That will most assuredly end up in lost giants, Really good video. Some great clear views of knots. Blessings GPJ

I have never tied line to a conventional reel in my 30+ years of using the, i use water resistent medical tape and tape the line to the reel.

What’s a rod what can fit the tig 130 without going custom

I have a rod that need more braid but don't want to waste half a spool about 500 yards can I splice that or is it bad

Kinda disappointing that you spend 800$ on a top of the line reel, and the drag doesn’t work how you want it to

The drag works great, it doesn't set well for lbsf because they aren't designed to shark fishing, they are designed for bluefin tuna and marlin. Unfortunately can't have it all our way. There is not perfect lbsf reel
