Freemasonry isn’t one thing, but many, and it has always been this way. Much of this vagueness and variety stems from the fact that Freemasonry’s origins are lost in time. As ever, people see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe. Therefore, unsurprisingly, Freemasonry grew into a worldwide presence, and in this video we see how it inspired and influenced society as we know it today.
This video is episode 13 from the series The Real History of Secret Societies, presented by Richard B. Spence.

Brother, you may have been told that, but nowhere is it written down, by any Masonic authority, that G stands for God. Don't forget, we have to believe in a supreme being, responsible for the creation of the universe...not a specific deity or faith. My uncle was a member for decades. His brother mentioned how he was involved. I asked my uncle about it and he gave me a scripted response. My uncle always told me everything. Really weird that he was mum on this. He passed away last year. He gave a grandson his masonic ring and the lodge paid his funeral in full. Even had a masonic coffin. From that day on I've been so interested in knowing why and how they did all this. My other uncle (his brother) swore it was a cult, as he was in it for a short time. He left saying it wasn't for him.

A few guys were milling about and when they went into the back room we took off running out the front door, they chased us down the street to the creek and we escaped.🤣🤣🤣 Old guys too out of shape to catch us one guy looked like Boss Hogg, It was spooky.

My father died of cancer forty-three years ago. He was only forty-six and a thirty-second degree freemason. During his six month rapid decline to death, they were around all the time, giving financial and emotional support. When he died, his whole family died; that is, to the masons, we were no longer of interest. They didn't take care of my mother at all, in any shape, many, or form, nor did any one of them become a role model to me, a twelve year old boy. They stopped all association with us. I quickly learned that I wanted no part of a group of supposed Christian men who abandoned us. I will always respect my father, for he was a hard-working, Christian brick-layer and tile-setter who loved us, but, with all respect to him, he was associated with a group of people and an organization that should be ashamed of themselves. God has steered my life and given me strength and opportunity to be successful and a good husband, father, and grandfather. My blessings coming from God, through Jesus Christ, and I have no secrets. This entire group is built on secrecy, selective membership, blood oath loyalty, and threats of violence and death to those who would betray it. Sounds like the tenants of the Aryan Brotherhood or some other prison/street gang. It's will never be for me, nor will I ever have any respect for it.

@David E Moore David, it looks like the ball was dropped here. The normal routine is for the family to continue to receive assistance IF REQUIRED. I've witnessed it countless times! I myself have been "Lodge Almoner", the Brother responsible for the care of sick brethren and their families, if the Brother dies. BUT... maybe your mother didn't want their help. Have you considered that? It's not unheard of, for a wife and mother to tolerate Dad's association with Freemasonry and when he passes, makes it clear she does not require assistance. Some women are very proud in that respect. Again, I have witnessed this personally. You say "supposed Christian group". There's something you have assumed to be true.. but is not. We are not a religious group at all. Religion plays no part in our activities. There are Masons all over the world, from all the worlds religions. We are NOT "built on secrecy". What does that even mean? Almost nothing in Freemasonry is secret. Something else that you have assumed to be true..but got wrong. Blood oaths? Violence? They don't happen. Conspiracy theorist claptrap. Wrong again. So if you have these things wrong, you could also be wrong about the aftercare. See?

Because matters of politics and religion are proscribed within lodge meeting, a brother's religious conviction or political attach cease to be an impediment to harmony. One's religion is one's own business. To become a Freemason one must declare a belief in God. For Christians, that is the Triune God, for Muslims that is Allah and so on. Thank you, this is very informative and well organized. My father was a free mason for quite a long time but I never understood what it really was and he never elaborated upon it. The symbol with a G in the middle is vividly in my memory, he had a ring with a blue stone bearing that symbol in the center. I find it interesting considering my parents are from Bosnia/Croatia and catholicism is prominent, especially in my family yet free mason beliefs are incompatible and a grave sin according to the church. Considering his quality of character in my youth, I don't have a good impression of what he actually learned from the lodges he attended. It was by any means a priority for personal wealth all the way to the end. Thanks again for the overview

Idries Shah gives an excellent dissertation on the origins of Freemasonry as an ancient Order of Sufi, revived in the eighth century by the mysterious Sufi mystic Dhul-Nun, in his book "The Sufis". Many of the symbols of Freemasonry, such as the checkerboard carpet, are commonly used in other Sufi traditions, confirming the connection.

I worked for a company (in England) where it became known that *all* the managers were Freemasons. I presume that the CEO was an enthusiastic Freemason (and probably a "control freak"), whose policy was to employ only Freemasons as managers. My understanding is that such a policy is contrary to the principles of Freemasonry. I believe this policy created a weakness because recruitment of technically competent managers was difficult to achieve since the choice of possible candidates was thereby diminished. The clandestine nature of the company became known (but only to a few) when the CEO recruited an ordinary member of staff to the management. Thus it became necessary for this person to become a Freemason. The new recruit told just one person what he had done. And the news spread. I came to regard the management as rather evil. They adopted a policy of firing most of the factory staff (typically humble housewives) and replacing them with ethnic Indians who were bussed-in every day from west London. I had conversations with some of these people who told me, indiscretely, that most of this intake were illegal immigrants. So the CEO was a crook as well as a Freemason. The question I ask is: Why would anyone seek to join an organisation whose aims and purpose remains a secret until *after* they have joined? Surely it is not self interest? Surely it is not in the expectation of personal advancement?

  • @teecee1567

    @teecee1567

@George10767 Hi George, you are 100% correct. It is STRICTLY against the rules to use Freemasonry for your own personal advantage AND for Freemasons who are in a position to hire and fire, exclude others who are not Freemasons. It should always be the best person for the job. This man, whoever he was, was acting against the principles of Freemasonry and in doing so, damaging an honourable fraternity. If anyone is caught doing that, he would be subject to Masonic sanction, which could lead to expulsion from the Craft. Someone should have taken the initiative to contact his Lodge. I remember a guy joined my Lodge when I was the Master for the first time. He owned a garage. At the meal after the meeting, I saw him handing out business cards. I asked my Director of Ceremonies to have a quiet word with him and to ask him to stop. He was new to the fraternity and might not have known the rules. He stopped. At the very next meeting, a month later, I saw him doing it again. This time, I had a word with him, telling him any further behaviour like that and I would take it further. We never saw him again. You are under a misapprehension though in your last paragraph. It's perfectly in order for Candidates to know the nature of Freemasonry, its aims and principles. In fact booklets outlining these points are given to Candidate for them to read before the formalities start and there is even a booklet for the partners of the men applying to join! So no Candidate for Freemasonry enters blindly. We tend not to reveal the details of the ceremonies (although we are not officially restricted from doing so) because it will spoil it for the Candidate. It's always best to experience these ceremonies afresh. But everything else is perfectly open for discussion. Yes, there will always be examples of the type you mentioned.. because of human nature. You can't stamp it out 100%. But with a worldwide membership of over 6 million men, you are bound to get some bad apples. Please ask me anything you like about Freemasonry.

I think masonry is about building temples, especially one built without hands and not a sound heard. I think the symbols are for that purpose, but i do not belong to any masonic lodges, so i would be what he called a cowan. I saw one picture of a woman crying over a broken collum and an ancient old man standing behind her. Still trying to figure that out. I had a couple of uncles that were masons but would not tell me anything about it. One uncle did say one time that when one was situated in the light that their was no darkness. The secrets of Freemasonry only come to those who do the work. You can't read them from a book, bideo, etc.. If you don't do the work, there is no secret to be learned, nothing to be gained. Read all you want, watch all the videos, but the real secrets are only unearthed by those in the brotherhood doing the work.. Unfortunately, there are lots of brothers not doing the work these days, but I do sense a change as younger men with inquisitive minds and a passion for learning are joining more frequently.

I've seen many documentaries and shows regarding the Free Masons and think the one sentence in this documentary sums it up well, "it's not one thing but many things". In my early teens, I was part of a group that was associated with the Free Masons which were called the "Rainbow Girls" which, if the individual wanted to continue in this "club", would be granted entrance into the "Eastern Stars" (which were the female counterparts of the Masons). I didn't stay long in group, I really didn't understand all of the symbolism and references so I left after about a year. Having been in it for such a short period of time, I can't recall much of my time spent with the group. The counter group for teenage boys was called the "Demolays" who would be granted entrance as a Mason when they reached adulthood. I've never seen much mentioned about these other groups associated with the Masons but would love it if someone did a documentary on it.

This is quite interesting and confusing to, but yet understandable to some. For those who really understand it, it can get quite weird, but for most of it is philosophy and psychology, the philosophy isn’t bad, but the psychological aspect of the whole thing can leave a person in psychosis, and that’s not a good thing at all. When anyone ever mentions about strings being pulled, and using people as puppets, it’s not literal though, it’s more of a way with words that some people have when they speak, those people who are in power and reside in higher places or are considered part of the good ole boys club, can easily manipulate the masses of society to the point where it almost feels like they are actually writing history itself. and that’s from the logical perspective, but there’s a deeper part to all of it, and that’s where a person can get lost into the whole different subject. The people who knew the secret, knew that we were all Devine, and in present day they are using the term known as spiritual awakening, and there’s a couple that narrowed it down to 2 things that when you have utter control over those 2 things, you have total power and that is your consciousness and your subconscious.

Nobody ever uses Freemasonry to control anything, either, if that's what you are trying to say. We distance ourselves from any such situation. Those who are in places of influence must NOT act in any way by virtue of their membership. Such actions are frowned upon and the protagonists held to account. It's also not about the conscious and subconscious. it's about morality, integrity, character, kindness and compassion.

The reason why I went in the direction I went to is, I know religion wasn’t always just about religion, some religions or cults had their own beliefs and agendas, to gain power and knowledge. Through such religions over time, was written and for those texts that were read and understood, I can understand why some may get to the wrong idea, and take some to the extreme. I also think I heard the guy mention the Illuminati, and the back stories on that group is quite dark, but no one even knows for sure if they even exists or cares to acknowledge that they did. So yeah one could understand why some could lose their minds if they did exist, did harm and claim that they didn’t and what ever happened was merely just a figment of the imagination. My imagination can get carried away to, but I had a little bit of a struggle through my living experiences. I’m just a truth seeker myself and I don’t believe that these cults were just kindly formed just to have a few beers, hamburgers and hotdogs on the weekends. Lol… so excuse me for insinuating some things. Much respect with you and your accomplishments with the Freemasons.

Minute 1:22 "and buried in the sea at low tide. As done to William Morgan. Because he wrote of the first three degrees with permission. Thurlow Weed in his autobiography said the Knights Templar Freemason' kidnapped Morgan and they confessed so to him. (Thurlow became the founding of The Anti Masonic Party. Which lasted free of Masons about as long as it took to read this sentence.)..Oddly Morgan's wife later married Joseph's Myth the Mormon prophet. But she was already married to Mr Harris and JS was rooming with them. Later when Joe made up the Mormon Endowment Ceremony he used the same oaths and ritual shown here. At first they cut the flesh, but the girls complained so that was stopped. Now the emblems are in the magic Mormon underwear. ( After JS death Lucinda Morgan Harris Smith underwent the Mormon endowment ceremony and married Joe for Eternity and Mr Harris for "Time" as we learn in The Nauvoo Endowment Ceremonies). Minute 9:25 in Mormonism it's "As man now is god once was as god now is man may become. There is Adam=God Doctrine, but this system is so tough that even meat eating Mormons eschew it. So to speak.

Because every free mason is a satanist. Evil in its purest form. The oath is for that they can never escape because they get killed. That’s why it’s secret. They kill and sacrifice children and they drink blood out of skulls and do witchcraft. Their god is Lucifer.

A lady mason :) (Some Californian lodges have a ladies auxillery with a separate name.) allowed me to read her masonic book. It was historically innaccurate in several details. She wanted me to become a mason. My best friend of many years had been a mason, but was convinced that no Baptist could also be a Mason. They claimed that Masonry was begun by the masons that built Solomon's temple. They do mention Biblically historical names in connection with that. What I found out years later from Christian author dave Hunt was that the highest level Of Masons and Rosicrusians unite in the high occult Golden Dawn society. I had been a member of the Rosicrucian society and read several of their books in the "70s. I left that occult society when I became a Baptist believer a decade later.

Where, when and why? Yea, we KNOW who the first "Gentleman Mason" was. I cannot remember his name. Why? Because there has always been a comradery among laborers that the nobles lacked. Part of the reason Stonemasons joined into groups was mutual assistance. If one died he could be sure his family would be taken care of by his comrades. That kind of love is rare among nobles who tended to be quite competitive.
