Steve, I really liked this video. I'm a traditional watercolor artist, you know... transparent pigments , no white , no black, etc. But one day I started playing around with the ink and wash or wash and ink. Loved it, not that I would give up my boooring traditional watercolor, but I'm now doing both.. So thanks for this video, you never disappoint.

Thanks Barbra! Yeah for the most part I'm a traditional watercolorist too. I started using line and wash more as an affective sketching technique when I started doing plein air journaling, but I love to do it for bigger works on occasion as a change of pace.
I’m definitely going to give this a try Steve-your painting is beautiful.
Really stunning. Adding to my favorites!
So captivating watching you do this! I love how it turned out too. Thank you!
Watching you and a Irish and English watercolor artist got me wanting to give it a try. Thanks

Thank you for the great videos you do. Great choice of music too...I couldv'e sworn it was Debby Boone, til I looked. It is a pleasure to watch how you paint & draw.
Absolutely lovely! Your enthusiasm and finished spontaneous piece are truly remarkable, particularly when considering you must have been feeling a bit under the weather with your cold. Also compliments to video and music editor(s). Thanks for the inspiration over a coffee break. :)
You are truly a talented artist!
Loved this video. Can't wait to have a go!
Fantastic ! Really enjoyed this , thanks !
TOTALLY amazing.
Sin palabras para expresar lo hermoso que es. FELICITACIONES!!!!!
I really love your style of painting, I've never seen anyone paint like you. I think it really awsome and beautiful.
You sure know how to make my day - this is awesome. I'm always afraid to be spontaneous because I don't have the intuitive vision to see what the result presents.
Beautifully done -- enjoyed learning new contrasts
Ever since I found you, I havent let you go! You are so complete in your teachings. And I trust you, in what you say. Besides you convey decense and a sense of humor. Thank you, God bless you and continue to help us.
What a great project! I tried it anti actually came out pretty good - my underpainting got a little muddy - I can't wait to try it again. Love your channel, I always recommend it to people. Thanks!
You, sir, are absolutely brilliant!
came across this at a time I really needed some inspiration !! ty so much
I call this intuitive painting, and it's my favorite way to paint. I am drawing and sketching, but I love to mix up palettes and when finished, see what I can "carve out of it" with ink or gouache even. Great video. Beautiful painting and a good look at how M. Graham behaves. I will likely buy a set for myself-maybe at Christmas, haha! I have a lot of watercolors to use up for a long long time!!! I do have M Graham Tit. White Gouache. It's pretty good!
Oh I might try this! It looks fun!
Success! Yes, I followed your method and it turned out very cool. Thank you so much for such clear, gentle instruction that leads to a successful project.
fabulous painting and technique
I'm just in awe right now. Every one of your videos teaches me something, but there are those moments where I see more than just technique, but true talent and a well honed craft. This is an absolutely stunning example of your talent. Thank you for sharing!
You are definately the very best watercolor teacher..I haven't found one piece you do that is not beautiful. I love your creative suggestions we can try.
Don't know how I missed this one ... just beautiful!
Love it!
Unbelievable, I just love your work so much. I really want to be to learn how to do this
I know this is years old, but it's new to me, and I have to say these spontaneous pieces always leave me shaking my head! I watch the blotches of paint, speckles, and water, and each time I think "this one isn't going to come out as good as the other ones I saw." It does. It's gorgeous. The next thing I do will be a stab at a spontaneous landscape! Thanks for opening my eyes to this approach.
Very inventive!What an imagination.
WOW! This turned out so beautiful Steve! I want to give it a try but I’m sure it will be nothing like yours! Thank you for your great video sessions! I am enjoying them enormously! Happy New Year 2023!🎊 🎉❤
Steve, I was absolutely mesmerized watching you create this sketch. You have inspired me to try spontaneous painting. Thanks so much, I always learn something new every time I watch your videos. Blessings. 💞💫
Loved this!
WOW 😮 WOW 😮 WOW 😮 This is absolutely and utterly stunning and gorgeous and breathtakingly beautiful. Steve you are a truly truly gifted and talented man. I really really love 💕 this painting too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Loved this
I feel like you are carving out the trees as a sculptor would carve out a figure. Think I learned a lot about your approach to painting these spontaneous works by seeing how the ink was used then refined with a little more color. So appreciate your sharing.
So beautifully done.
I absolutely love your spontaneous paintings! Hope you feel better soon!

Excellent my friend, very inspirational. Thanks
incredible Steve
I love this.
Love your channel always informative
You continue to wow me. I’m not good with the inking but having that come from organic color. I may have to try it, even though there is potential for death and destruction if I attempt it. Keep up the good work!
Loved it. So inspirational. Take care.
You always have the best music in your videos 💗
I can't wait to try this
I am going to give this a try
Wow Steve you are a magician..... Make it look so easy but it is not...... Thanks for your patient teaching.
