Huh, that's a memory I haven't thought about for a very long time. When I was in elementary school, my mom opened a divorce letter in front of me because she didn't know what it was. We were sitting in her car, she had picked me up from school and grabbed the mail on the way down our street. We sat in the car for a long time parked out front of the house. I don't remember what was said and I didn't understand it, but I knew it was bad. Don't get married or have kids, kids.

This movie is full of references to the delta P lore. The guy crawling through the oil pipe at 5:13 is a reference to the divers that got sucked in one of those and had to crawl through thick oil with broken bones and holding their breaths hoping to find the next air pocket to breathe. Only one survived by crawling to the other end, no one even tried to rescue the others despite other divers knocking on the pipe from the outside and them replying by knocking from the inside. Tragic stuff.

There's something so uncanny about committing to a photorealistic oilrig as the set, and then using inherently simple cartoons as the main characters. The little details really elevate it too, like the heat pump on Squidward's house, all the legal documents in the SpongeBob font, and the breakdown about the pressure test/delta P. The lighting contrast between the surface and bikini bottom is superb as well. It's all so seamless yet so, so off. You can't pull this off in a low effort shitpost.

SpongeBob dying as Patrick stor there and did nothing was way more horrifying to me than it should have been. Being in a situation where there's nothing you can do and the only person who can is just sitting there watching you die. They have absolutely no reason to save you

If you do not recognize those voices then you haven't lost your age in a long time Because those are the voices of the tourettes guy and his dad, Those voices brought back so many memories My cousin and I watch it and after he was deploy, Bring back good memories..

I love how SpongeBob swearing is the ONLY part of this that's at all out of character for the cast of SpongeBob. Everything else they do totally feels like it could happen in an actual episode.

Shakespeare better watch out, this is the best written piece of storytelling of All Time. This really portrays SpongeBob's downfall as a tragic hero in Bikini Bottom's Oil District.

No one's talking about it in comments, but this video is really bizarre and surreal lol. I guess channel veterans are used to it but as a newcomer I gotta vent a lil' bit. This whole video has an undescribably captivating vibe to it. Just something about the chaotic, sometimes senseless humor mixed with serious, scary real-life news footage and the foreboding anticipation of the oil rig's explosion, along with in-depth, detailed explanations of some weirdly specific term you've never heard of before, all while you constantly ask yourself wtf is going on. It's mesmerizing.
