Thanks for posting this great review, I had been on the fence about this one for a good while and decided to get it. Great game so far! Also Troubleshooter mentioned, hell yeah!

Dang, where you guys coming from with Troubleshooter? :D got multiple comments about it already. And yeah, as I am specialist in turn-based tactics / xcom / strategies, of course gotta rep that game! I still to this day want to do a proper long series of my streams for it, they keep doing more updates. It's just I know that it's multi hundred gameplay hours project XD

Big Review as necessitated by a truly Big Game. It should rightly be considered a contemporary foundational title, of which there are surely only very few, for games from the region going forward.

Oh really? I didn't really dive into pro strats in this video (there is so much to cover) and deep mechanics, just described game and what it offers without spoilers. 😌 Glad you liked it, game and review

@@TorNis7 it was like reassuring common knowledge tid bits I wasn't sure about, from my pov this game is alot all at once when you start, and your video gave it more of a big picture clarification 👌

I played lotsa roguelike deckbuilder as well, completely agree with what you said, completely caught off surprise how GOOD this game is. It sat in my library for almost a year!

The reason no one is watching streams of this game is because it’s so good they’re playing it instead! At least I can’t stop playing… Didn’t watch the entire review as it’s quite long but I agree with most of what you said. You didn’t even sample my favorite song from the soundtrack! (Song with the shamisen.) I think my biggest complaint is there are so many mechanics and while the tutorial does a good job it doesn’t cover everything. Like explaining what speed is and how it works. Then there are no tooltips for certain things and you have to look it up online or experiment until you figure it out yourself.

Totally agree, and glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah , shamisen is basically new content, I figured I would leave it out

Unfortunately due to nature of this game, uploading "runs" is not really highly searchable content, especially for a complicated game that's not exactly fast either with runs. This is a problem with many rogue-lites, uploading runs on KZread doesn't feel special unless it's showcase of the build or some well edited video. Futhermore, my 1.0 version streams were mostly at night time during which I had minimum commentary. So again, not the prime KZread content, wouldn't you say? It's not like A to B type of journey or playthrough (Like La-Mulana recently for example), this is theoretically infinite game, like Slay The Spire or Isaac. Do people upload random runs of those games without edits? Nah.

I havent started this video I have 1 thing i REALLY hate about this game. It's the run length. It takes HOURS to complete 1 run. This is like the antithesis of roguelike principle. You play rougelike cuz you want to kill time, finishing a run in 1 sitting. But it's impossible in this game.

  • @TorNis7

That is very true. One run here is like an entire adventure especially if you are learning cards still. The thing is roguelike runs are suppose to be long. You are talking about sub genre roguelites, those are usually designed for quick paced gameplay.
