To portray a man or woman with multiple personalities, you have to have the right kind of actor/actress who can pull it off just right. If this works out for James, I hope he gets an Oscar for this role.

Dennis, Patricia, and Hedwig were working together, not fighting. They did however fight against the other personalities so the three of them could bring forth "The Beast". Patricia and Dennis regularly handed "control" of Kevin back and forth between each other. They used Hedwig for this because he was the only personality that could take over at will.

The way I interpreted it, Patricia was the brains behind the operation while Dennis was the muscle. More often than not, she didn't have to appear because she had Dennis to carry out her orders.

I wasn't basing my knowledge on fiction and didn't even say that movie was right. I was asking if it was the same is all. I know movies can get mental disorders wrong sometimes but there are also times when they can get some aspects of the disorders right.

From what I have learned, people with this particular disorder can speak between their other personalities, but there are some cases where the personalities don not realize the others exist. As for switching between personalities, that is something I myself have done some hard research with but it is difficult to know. Some people say a switch can take up to a month or longer, while others say it could take a week or even a day. As I don't know anyone with this particular disorder, all my information could be totally false. This is mostly what I have found online, though i would love to talk to someone with this disorder. I have a huge interest in it, and being an aspiring author I am actually creating a character with this particular disorder, I would love to learn what it is truly like for an individual experiencing such a thing and learn what they think and what they hear, how they feel. I do not wish to demonize such a thing but rather open people's eyes to it, and to make something more real for a character.

Umm.I love this man. Brilliant in this movie.

I started bursting out with laughter when I first saw this in the cinema 😂

As of now, I personally like Unbreakable better but they are both great films. Together these are the most realistic depiction of the idea of superheroes/villains. Even more so than The Dark Knight movies. Now that I've seen both, I see how David/Unbreakable and Kevin/Split are opposites similar to how Elijah/Mr. Glass are also polarized? David's body is Unbreakable but his mind is limited made apparent by his simple dialogue. David isn't stupid but he's also not hyper-intelligent. He's of average intelligence. I mean Elijah had to explain to him his whole purpose and even then David had trouble comprehending. Conversely, Elijah's body is super fragile but his mind is brilliant. He seems to have a genius level of intelligence. His cunning and knowledge allowed him to kill thousands of people by himself without getting caught. He was imprisoned at the end of Unbreakable only because he allowed it. And I think he allowed it because he completed his obsessive mission to find his opposite, David. As for Kevin, his mind is broken (Split) which is the opposite of unbreakable. But he figures out how to use this "disorder" to give him superpowers that seem to be even stronger than David's - David wouldn't be able to climb an almost flat wall. Another difference is that David is always Unbreakable with his only weakness being water. Kevin is only Unbreakable as The Beast with his weakness being his broken and abused mind. David will be Kevin's greatest trophy kill in Kevin's mind. He will target David with relentless determination. Because his ideology is that people who have never struggled, felt pain, or been broken in life are worthless and should die. And that the broken people/abused like him are more evolved. David is Unbreakable and has only been sick once in his life from an pneumonia caused by his weakness to water. David's never really struggled in life. He was a popular football star in school. He married his HS sweetheart and has a beautiful family. His only struggle was being depressed from not doing what he was meant to do as a superhero which caused problems in the rest of his life. But as soon as he started taking out bad guys, his life went back to being peachy. It's going to be extremely interesting to see how M. Night intertwined there strengths and weaknesses in their battle.
