Ooo so timely, Doc! I've been going back & forth on cutting my hair. I haven't had a professional cut in over 7 years. 🫣 I don't want a stylist chopping it way down just because of split ends. Thank you for this!

I learned so much, thank you! I’ve been following you for over a year and I really appreciate all of the advice. Your hair is beautiful by the way. Is there any specific hair care advice for curly hair? I feel like curly hair is a whole different world and even though I’m in my mid 30s I still feel like I can’t get my 3b curls right.

Do you have any thoughts on keratin treatments/ brazilian blowouts for curly hair? They help my hair be so much more manageable with it taking 5% of the styling time and allow me to use way less heat on my hair. Leaves my hair looking shiny and healthier (even if just superficially) and really boosts my confidence about my appearance.

Hi Dr Ellis, thank you so much for sharing all of your knowledge with us, we learned so much from you! Quick question. I am endlessly looking for hair products to make my hair appear less drying. I just looked at the ingredients to the unite detangler, and it has so much alcohol in it. Doesn’t that kind of negate the good properties or ingredients in the products? I guess if it works it works I’m just curious about long-term use.

Thank you for another brilliant video!❤ I was wondering if there is any chance that using retinol on the face can somehow lead to hair becoming dryer? In the past 4 weeks my hair suddenly became much dryer than before and it happend in the similar time frame when I increased my use of retinol... Maybe its just a total coincidence but I was wondering if there was any data about that.....

Hi Dr. E - I am totally lost in the great blow-dry debate. I thought that the research is that blow-drying keeps your hair cleaner and prevents split ends? I blow dry on a no heat setting. I have ridiculously fine hair that doesn't grow and split ends of course with my unblessed situation. I've stopped coloring (waiting for it to grow out), I use olaplex 7 and peptide end repair and leave in conditioner after washing etc. So blow dry or air dry as the final step?

I always wonder - what kind of thermal/heat protectant can I use on already dried hair before using a hot tool? For example, I’m on second day hair and I want to curl it…should I just spray my Unite protectant and start curling (even though it’s damp from the spray?)? Help! Lol

I have fine hair that is a bit below the shoulders and “aging”. I am 67 and never heard of a patch test until in my mid 50’s. Would have prevented a lot of grief in my younger years. 🤣 Thanks for all the info. 😎✌🏻

Hi, Dr. Elis - Would you do a video specifically on hair loss?! I’m in my mid-30’s & I already feel like my hair is thinning! 😩 I also have noticed that whenever I gently comb/brush my hair or wash my hair I see more hair fallout/“shedding” too! 😭 It’s hard to know if it’s because of stress or genetics. And I’m curious about different products to try too. Thanks for your input! 💛

try to use conditioners with proteins and oils and shampoos (based on your scalp type)! have a routine and use a hair mask once a week as well as having a leave in and a hair oil to protect your ends and lock in moisture! try to find your hair porosity and create the hair care routine based on that. for me all of these things helped my hair retain length more and grow faster. 😊

In my experience hair defines the better when is properly clean (not necessarily stripped). I would say if you hair get wet easily you can get away with a lot, if your curl pattern doesn’t show much while washing it you may need to go a little more intense with the cleansing step, but I wouldn’t suggest not washing your hair I suggest @manesbymell (more so if you hair wets easily, but she is good either way) if your hair doesn’t show the curl easily look for this video “Detailed wash day routine for definition and Hydration 30 day hair detox for @itstruedestiny (I haven’t watched her for long but hair routine is somewhat similar to mine)
