Split Body Heil Formula 7000 - City of Visalia

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

So here is a truck that many wanted to see more of, myself included. So in our trip we made sure to stop here for some video. Typically these collect dual stream recycling, but what makes these so unique is that they actually don't. One side is commingled recycling and the other side is regular trash! The bottom compartment of the truck is where the trash is emptied to and the top is where the recycle is held. Yardwaste has its own cart and is collected on a different day by a standard DuraPack 7000 or Rapid Rail. The current chassis they buy are Peterbilt 320s, and these slightly older CCCs appeared their previous purchase not too long ago. So they have a pretty awesome fleet. They still have a small number of Volvos remaining for greenwaste, but their days are numbered. Unfortunately this is all the footage I got, but Scott filmed it with me so there's some more video guaranteed in the future from him.
Hope you enjoy what I got and thanks for watching!

Awesome video! Nice to see that someone got these trucks on video. Pretty cool that there are custom made carts for this city too. Hopefully these trucks will be around for a few more years!

Awesome footage! The truck itself is pretty quiet, but the constant clanking of the arm really is what makes the truck loud lol. Glad you were able to film this. Noticed a good portion of the containers were full, and I think there was news coverage of this where residents were going to be asked if they prefer one system in one container or two systems in one. I wonder how that will go. And too much dogs barking.

Sooooooo cool!!!! I didn't realize it was newer till the second clip lol. Dig the color, the way the LET2 looks with the taller body, and how its just a R2000 tailgate. Wouldn't want to deal with this system myself though, between things getting stuck in the cart, having to shake the arm, spillage, cross contamination, more swing out than the usual F7000. All that aside a really, really great catch.

WOW! This is such an amazing collection system! I'm sure people have 1 or 2 carts at each house. Great footage! So glad someone was able to finally get this on film! Faved for sure!

The way these trucks are divided always makes me wonder how the packer work. A neat system overall with how they use the split carts for two opposite streams.

Just FYI, A split body truck has a bed or box that raises up when it's at the landfill or transfer station to empty out all of the garage/ recycling, ECT..

Man you're right it does sound diesel in some spots! Surprised the carts aren't broken from those grippers lol. I'm assuming that lone RRS is a yard waste cart? Are the carts with the blue lids toters? The truck as a whole looks huge maybe it's just because of the square F7000 body + the CNG tank. One last question, why's he driving with the brakes applied? Awesome video!

I bloody love split trucks, 100 times more when they empty split bins, which is why I hate life knowing they're extremely rare these days. There are a heap I wish I got on video myself in the past, but unfortunately doing so never happened. Were these at all more common in the past up there or has it only been a certain group of cities which have run the split service? I recently saw this truck in somebody else's video, but it wasn't hard to watch a second time. Firstly I love watching the carts get lifted high up over the hopper so you can see the dual lids flip open and all the contents pour out from both the kerb and street side of the truck. Speaking of carts too, I noticed the split ones generally seem to always have lids hinged from the middle - are there other designs or is there a single manufacturer who makes them like that? Also these are 96g capacity? I wonder what cross contamination is like with these trucks, but it looks like the cart lids help shield the waste streams from tumbling into the wrong compartment. Always loved the two bubble doors on these Heil bodies too, probably with how the lower door has the thick long arms running down the side from the top. I really dig the idle sound of this CCC too, I think I prefer the idle more than when it actually takes off.

No more split bodies? So no more split RRs and 4060s? Down here a couple of companies still build them, but more on special request... same kinda thing but, they've been phased out due to "findings" on benefits of not using them. I'm still surprised they're not more common on rural runs for the obvious reasons. It's a treat hearing about or seeing a photo of a new one! One video I'd love to see of these trucks is a hopper view of the loading and packing :D

Great job Mike!! This truck is very unique, with the grabber and the split body. What is the manufacturer for those split carts? I know that oTTo make split ones, but unsure of these. Cheers.

Wow, these carts must be really hard on the arm. Isn't this city getting ready to vote if they want separate carts or just keep these?

Cool vid but this system seems inefficient i thought recycling was dual stream but trash and recycle in the same can The fuk ? lol well it was cool and fun to watch and Im sure this made OXNDRRs day lol

Yes, the split cans kill the arm. Main reason Oxnard stopped using them and went with the 3 cart system. Visalia is sending out survays asking residents if they want to keep the split cart or move to a 3 cart system. KZread will not allow me to post the link.Google Visalia survey split can.
