I’m of the belief that Parallel Canon was the security system Marina wanted Agent 4 to head. Agent 4 never got back to Marina regarding her proposition, so the parallel canon avatar was left incomplete. They definitely aren’t hypnotized inklings, just robots!

Actually the "true fan of chaos" is a reference to Agent 4 being on side Chaos in the final splatfest chaos vs order

Yeah or another dlc which someone said could be coming too since this dlc is kinda lackluster compared to octo expansion. Or another game after splatoon 4 at least. I’m kinda doubting both tho, more like hoping for those possibilities

@@larrysmellbutts2002idk.. it took them over a year of development for the dlc itself. Splatoon 2 was developed in two years alongside updates for splatoon 1. I wouldn’t hold my breath for more splatoon 3 dlc although I would love it

It bothers me how even though everyone knows that parallel canon is supposed to be agent 4, they don’t explicitly mention it or bring it up. Justice for agent 4 😭

I find it hilarious that Pearl's Killer Wail ended up damaging Order so badly, it permanently stripped his mind down into that of a tiny child. Actually, that's also pretty terrifying, now that I think of it.

Here's the craziest part 1 of the dialogues you can get while in the elevator seemingly implies that the the Killer Wail Pearl used on Commander TarTar snapped Acht AKA Dedf1sh and probably other Octarians out of the mind control of the sanitization like legemitly Pearl is 1 of the biggest contributors to the Splatoon lore

From her original Killer Wail, The Princess Cannon (best custom looking killer wail, and name came from Final Fest's final custom map), to a Color Wail that that decimated Order's original code, it's clear you DON'T mess with MC Princess nor DJ Hyperfresh (names found throughout Splatoon 2's Lore)

The parallel canon boss are all inklings, they all become squid form. It’s like the opposite of vs octoling levels from the story modes, those AI opponents have never been inklings before. besides the octo expansion agent 3 boss fights that is

I didn't notice this the first time I played, but while watching this video I noticed that Marina has a Virtual Boy controller on her head during the first boss fight. That's a cute little easter egg, especially given Nintendo's tendency to NOT reference the Virtual Boy.

I know! I used to hate her, but her sheer sassy out of pocket-ness, and absolutely devastating abilities as the drone, have made her one of my favs! I still love Big Man the best, but she's probably second! Though, aesthetically, Marina is still the cutest idol!

Yo! You're not counting something: If you fail in the middle of the tower, you'll have to climb it all over again, if you want to, there is an option to retry from the floor you failed, but... spoiler! This option is not available with Agent 8's pallet, yeah they have their own pallet and yet, if you use hacks you can't use many chips, so... Hackless and no retry... Man, don't even try is if you're sane

I think the Parallel Canon is meant to be based on Agent 4's data, at least. If you have Splatoon 2 data, it'll actually port your Inkling's hairstyle onto one of the seven enemies.

Because in Marina's journal she explains that she needed someone to take care of the security of the tower and so she met the one Captain Cuttlefish told her about (surely 4) and then in mini octopus (or whatever is their name i don't remember) 's info about 4's palette, they tell that they took advantage of the fact they were in the tower to turn them evil and on their side... Or maybe I understood wrong idk...

While watching this I just realized, non of the Octolings were hypnotized, I was a big believer that the Octolings were hypnotized by Octavio but with the pictures of Acht and Marina with all the other Octolings living without them on, I'm starting to think they're more of just communication goggles that they were wearing

Huh, well, this was interesting, so we got to meet Agent 8, but unlike with the Original Agent 3, we actually got to play as Agent 8 once again? I gotta say, getting to play as the Same Character in two different Games for the first time, was a very surprising and appreciated touch. Also, while we did seem to get at least some kind of glimpse of Agent 4, i would still like to see and know more about them. Anyway, this was a interesting Addition, I wonder what this will mean for the Future?

Well if you played the Octo Expansion, the saved data causes Agent 8 in this game to have the exact same features they had in Splatoon 2. For example, I was shocked to see that my Agent 8 looked familiar. So I went to my saved pictures on my switch and found a picture of my Agent 8 from the Splatoon 2 DLC, and it was the SAME! I mean, besides the color of the tentacles, it was the exact same. I was so excited and happy to see it already had the character all prepared from the saved data.

Another Amazing discovery i just found out is that whenever You die,Agent 8's ghost Is apparently A inkling ghost. HOWEVER. If your character Is A Octoling Before side order than your ghost Is the Octoling Version.But if your character is A inkling Than its the inkling ghost again.MEANING That we're actually not only Agent 8. But maybe. AGENT 3! Or Agent 4. Lol

i don't get Achts role in all of this. It feels like there should have bin more lore involving her but it got cut . The fakt that we get 3 diary's from Acht in the context of finishing agent 8 palette is so weird to me and feels so random.

I believe the first time we enter into the spire was the trial run that turned into a disaster. You can see in the last dev diary before the acht entries that eight volunteered to be the first test subject and the tower was a process to reach marina at the top floor completing the process and restoring the memories. Still doesn’t answer how acht got in there before eight but hey…

Amazing video!! I really wish this DLC had more story, gameplay wise it was super fun and i didn’t mind scaling the tower 12 times! but the 8 pallet with Acht stuff just felt so random as i was really looking forward to know more about 8, (like their interactions with NSS or maybe their past life idk) i felt like they should’ve just gave us acht’s pallet and their notes but eh, i hope we get some more story stuff before the next game tho!! (that actually includes my bb 4 😭) also just had one thing to inform you about lol 4:45 Agent 8 wasnt actually pulled in unexpectedly (well they didn’t think they would forget why their in the VR world but that’s besides the point) marina asked 8 to be the first test run on the VR world and 8 agreed then the whole order stuff went down (as stated in one of marinas insta post diary things)

I hope Smollust teams up with Dj Octavio in a future game, they give off Orson PacMan vibes.

Oh my god the fact that Marina cares so much for her fellow octarians still even after they got out of the abusive domains they inhabited to make this world to help them get back to how they were originally is so kind of her

The Parallel Canons are ALL Inklings just btw. They all make sad Inkling Noises when you Splat them.

if you read agent 4’s palettes info smollusk says something along the lines of; Agent 4 was supposed to be the guardian of the spire. and when you kill the agent 4 looking one in battle, his mask falls off and he disappears while the other parallels bodies just explode into pieces. Therefore I believe we fight agent 4.

Man, I WISH we had to climb the tower more than 12 times, cause I'm hooked regardless! If we got a new lore drop even after the 12th climb, I'd be PSYCHED! I've probably cleared the Spire close to 25 times now and each run is uniquely fun! Now I'm doing all the weapons with monochromatic palettes, and it's SO FUN! And you get over 1000 pearls per run if you play your chips right!

I think the agent 4 as security WAS the real agent 4 and skills trapped them which is why they have a pallet and use it and the group is also agent 4 and they were "enhanced" like when 3 was sanitised

Did you know that you won’t be able to replay this boss from the very beginning when you go to remember vibrant battle you don’t start at the beginning of the boss battle where you ride the cage to the platform you start when the spire is all broken up which I don’t like because then you don’t get to do the interactive cutscene again the only way to do it again is by resetting your safe

Overall I love it. Just wish it could be deeper but overall pretty good

Why are you guys expecting some ground breaking lore when the splatfest was supposed to fill that role? Since order lost it made sense to just tell a story through it like that. I think the way side order handled itself was fine it was even pretty cool tbh

Because Octo Expansion did just that, they dropped a lore bomb with the existence (or atleast the legacy) of the humans (and their definite extinction), added depth to the octolings, and introduced an actual new possible antagonist (humans, again, even if yeah, they died there at the time, it did lead into Mr.Grizz being the main antagonist of Splatoon 3 as the last mammal representative (although if the credits are true, he's still alive somewhere in space ?)) It didn't help that octo expansion also was considered the best story experience of the splatoon franchise PERIOD up to this point, so i can understand the need to find that again, specially since it is a DLC you pay for 25 bucks like i did instead of 15 (personally not playing online and i don't want to pay for nintendo online for a full year to have a run for my money)

Because Octo Expansion gave us the deepest and darkest lore in the Splatoon world yet, and the trailers hinted at something of a similar nature too. I wonder if the DLC being delayed meant some content was cut and the story was dumbed down

Minus the little bit of more Lori we get I'm going to be completely honest this was straight up so hard to beat the game with all 12 pallets especially agent gave me a couple of times I needed to redo it because Lord have mercy it was weird not being able to use the entire pallet board this was straight up hard

Octo Expansion was so much better than this. Better lore, better levels, way better gameplay them having to go through 30 levels before you a chance to fight the final boss. And they want us to do this 12 times? Forget that. Also biggest sin here, Agent 4 got absolutely nothing.

This is a great oversight of the side order DLC, I am heavily excited that there was no pronouns used in this video. I am not sure if I would want to complete the tower twelve times but I might when I have additional time to do so. Now that the Octavio story is completed what will this new story and tale fallow for Splatoon four? Will the game play actually change for once? We shall find out in the next couple of years.

You know “acht” Is German for “eight”?

Acht uses they/them pronouns. They used to be referred to as a gal in pre-Side Order material, however post Side Order they have been referred to with gender neutral terms and pronouns in pretty much every language (including Japanese, which is of course the original language the game was made in) Idk how this was gotten wrong as every single wiki page lists their pronouns as they/them as well as the fact that they are referred to exclusively with they/them pronouns in the dialogue. Please refer to them with the correct terms in the future.
