fun fact, splatana wiper does not benefit from run speed at all! The ability is quite literally unable to affect its strafe speed both while shooting and while not shooting, that was just your default strafe speed

Sad part is I had a run speed in splatoon 2 and at one point forgot that splatoon 2 doesn't support cloud data and deleted it so I lost like 70 lvls along with my hard worked for gear.

That’s terrible. I’ve lost save data before and it’s the most unmotivating thing in the world. I can’t even imagine losing my Splat save

I don’t even know how people get their gear like this, I just leave my clothes with random perks

Personally, I play a lot of Salmon Run. I trade in the gear I get for chunks and use them to make better gear

Salmon Run gives lots of chunks. Not really advisable but you can also have murch/spyke reroll an item's sub skills with the sea snails you get from splatfests. This won't really get you an all-pure item unless you're insanely lucky but If you do this with a brand that favours a specific skill you can build up a decent stockpile of chunks from the rerolls if you've been playing for a while. Note though that the chunk cost to add a skill to an item increases by 10 for each instance of the sub already on the item. If you want to make an item with all pures it can cost 60 chunks at most to force the sub skills, though if you want to change the main that's an extra 45 chunks as well. You can kinda get around this with a website out there that helps you figure out the random seed on your save file, and it lets you build items with your desired stats by telling you how to manipulate RNG to get the exact skills you want in each slot.

splatling main here: mini splatling unfortunately is actually a middleweight weapon and not a lightweight, HOWEVER it (and also funnily enough, n-zap) scales the highest with run speed stacking! so it feels a bit like a lightweight without actually being one. though i hope they do change it to be a lightweight one of these days, it'd be so fun 😭

Love to see the mini splatling representation. Fun fact: mini splatlings slightly outrange a good number of shooters, and when combo'd with run speed basically lets you backpedal away from them while still being able to deal damage while the best they can do is try to hit you with bombs or use their special if they have ones that deal damage. As fun as it is being able to shoot and move at near-full speed though I feel like run speed could use at least a minor buff, it kinda sucks even though (imo) it's pretty much essential to bring on splatlings

also I don't recommend running just full run speed on splatlings, live your truth if you must but if you want to minmax at most I recommend 3 mains and 4-6 subs of run speed, and then your remaining subs some mix of QoL like quick super jump, quick respawn and ink resist

I didnt see this man running with an inkbrush in the video. However I didn't watch the entire video all the way through, if someone could point out to me where he used inkbrush that would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but I don’t use any inkbrushes. Run speed doesn’t actually change how fast you move when it’s on the ground, which is such a missed opportunity by the devs. It’s the same with rollers as well

run speed doesn't do anything for brushes/rollers' move speed while holding the fire button.

i can feel the grind for all these same gears i know there is a website.... but i think it is still a good time (waste). (:
