@@Seaker35 nah, it’s especially annoying when your opponent in a dogfight runs to their airfield. you chase them just to about where you’d think it would be impossible to be detected. but nah, one tap pilot snipe at a plane going 400kmh. or shots to every important part to the plane. they should even the airfield AAA with the AAA around the battlefield

Hurricane had more kills I think, and it had rockets which would have been DEVASTATING against close German formations

No the p 51 mustang was the most effective fighter of world war 2 because it could escort b 17s and other bombers the second America started too try we won cause we decided to use the p 51 to destroy them in the sky and attack them on the ground on their way back. America is the best.

Yeah the good old days when Britain pushed other countries around and had one of the best birds of steel in their arsenal making them one of the most powerful nation which cannot be pushed around is now a nation who is just a few matters away from getting thier ass by one of the nation's which they looted and colonised during thier golden age!

A rare moment when a piece of art is equally deadly as it is beautiful.

I love how Phly went from a sentimental speech about the Spitfire to an up-beat intro

"once you got used to flying Spitfire, its almost like it became a part or your body"

See that was the amazing thing about the spitfire. Almost every pilot who flew it always came back complimenting its performance. According to them, you almost made a bond with your spitfire and it always did what you wanted it to do. It also basically saved Great Britain in the Battle of Britain as it could relieve hurricanes of the main fighter role because, being a 1930s design, were starting to lack behind the new and improved BF109s that were coming relentlessly over the coast escorting bombers. I think the British people (me being one of them) should really appreciate the spitfire and R.J Mitchell in our history for basically saving us when we most needed it.

Imagine being a Luftwaffe pilot and hearing the Blazing Angels theme randomly

I love these documentaries with the speaches of real pilots and WW2 experts

seriously, the A-0 is a mainstay ground pounder at 1.3 and the HE rounds are great against planes. Only issue is that it turns like a lard and unfortunately does piss poor post pen damage.

I loved it when Phly pointed out the features of the spitfire in the intro! Hope to see more of this in the future!

Really nice to touch having the voice overs from Spitfire vets. Being a massive spitfire fan boy loved it!

This is great timing. I just watched Battle of Britain TODAY and unlocked my first Spitfire recently.

I’ve been lucky to hear see and touch these aircraft and seen up close. RN Historic flight has some of the rarest aircraft of this era still in flying conditions. There both a credit not only to the people that designed but the people who flew in anger. The people who maintain and keep this living history so that the younger generation can see and feel the living history are some of the most amazing people I’ve had the pleasure to meet I’ve fond memories of drinking coffee and listening to them over south dispersal. Hanes manuals did a manual of the swordfish well worth a look good picture of Dicky in it.

The Spitfire is a magnificent aircraft. It's just a shame R.J. Mitchell didn't live to see how important his plane would be in the war. There was only one thing I've ever heard that pilots didn't like about the Spitfire, the fact she wasn't stable enough to be trimmed to level flight and be able to take your hand off the stick. It was because stability was sacrificed for agility, a sacrifice I think was worth it. Meant that she had to be flown, you had to keep her under your control. Heard that on a tour of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight hangar at RAF Coningsby (yes, the guys who do all the fly overs with Spitfires). Air RB Spitfires I find is quite fun with friends. I have 3 mates who have Spits and we can do fairly good teamwork. We climb together, watch out for each other, and we fight together (mostly).
