Spiritbox proved with Eternal Blue that Metal has no boundaries when you are talented to manage a mix of elements/genres, they and Sleep Token are elevating Metal Music in a new level. Courtney and Mike are phenomenal musicians, I love everything they did together since Iwrestleabearonce, if they decide to make a more pop/electronic, radiophonic or a heavier stuff, I gonna listen no matter what.

Europe, Japan, and South America have proven how you can mix metal with many genres for decades. For some reason, North America has been resistant be flexible. Metalcore in the US, itself, had such a hard time breaking out of its lane for such a long time because Lamb of God and "New American Wave of Metal" dominated the mainstream around the early 2000s.

@@jamjox9922 Absolutely, there are incredible bands mainly in Europe, Progressive Metal bands that add different elements in phenomenal ways like Opeth and Haken, their musicianship is technally flawless. In US we have some exceptions like Faith No More and Primus making crazy mixtures and working very well. After the saturated generation of New Metal/Metalcore/Screamo in the mainstream I believe Spiritbox and Sleep Token are redefining Modern Metal in the mainstream, while sounding familiar it is refreshing and very welcome with these pop elements, while we have amazing and technical bands like Jinjer and Tesseract for example doing a wonderful job in the Modern Metal scene as well, Metal has never been as strong and diverse as it is today

The special thing making Spiritbox stand out I guess is that they're just as level-headed and good hearted as people as they are talented and singular in their art. It just feels authentic in every way. I think only the Deftones make me feel that way as well and I'm not particularly into that type of metal/music otherwise. Goes to show how deep they resonate with people. Love from France.

I discovered them toward the end of 2019, and that band got me through lockdown. I knew as soon as the pandemic was over that they were gonna blow up big, and quickly. Just in my opinion, anyone that can say that band "sucks" is totally tone deaf, knows nothing about music and probably listens to really simple, typical common metal bands.
