Bolt was a bare shell build from a poor shell that needed lots of welding, new inner and outer sills, floor pans, dash rail, inner wing, wheel arches, etc. The engine is a full race Swiftune 1380 cc with Webber 45 DCOE, Straight Cut Close Ratio Gearbox with Quaife ATB limited-slip differential boasting in excess of 139 BHP
The result is a very quick/fast track car capable of lapping Brands Hatch Indy circuit in sub 60 seconds
In this video, we take Bolt for its first track day in 2020 at the Goodwood racing circuit

You weren't far off his time, Keef! I'd be too scared to stack someone else's car 😂

Easily worth 0.5s if you own the car 👍😀 That's my excuse anyway

He beat me last time out and he's just as competitive lol. I can guarantee that if he went out for another session he would've pushed and beat that time lol. 😅
Only half a second. Well done guys.
Hiya Mark/Keith-loved the video-that looked like a superb day out. On my bucket list a track day. Bolt looks and sounds brilliant. (you're so competative Mark). Glad you're both well!

Hurtling towards St Mary's and Woodcote at almost 110mph is very scary in a mini, but the adrenaline kicking in takes some of the fear away lol.
That was a really mega afternoon once we got going, not very exciting in the damp/wet! Lots of confidence building and getting used to the car after a year out, but what an awesome car it is to drive now!! Can't wait to get this to Brands Hatch next year. Nick Switch will join us for a couple of sessions next year and set some delta's for us and we'll use full slicks for the first time too! 😎
Love it, reminds me of my Karting days 👍🏁👍🏁
wow not bad foe 1st runs in over a year well done

Cheers Mark. Yeah, happy with that. Im sure we could've got to the 1.40.00 if we had another couple of dry sessions. 😁
Hi guys that looked like great fun there really was nothing in it between you very close all the way round. I was interested to discover a similarity between Bolt and my Mitsubishi L200..........both have dog boxes, mine sometimes has a whining sound coming from it which I suspect could be one of the three spaniels or two labradors..........I’ll get my coat😂 Take Care Stay Safe Everyone Regards Dave

Obviously a great day, 105db who is it that came up with the idea of quiet race cars. LoL i had a visit to the grass on my first track day in my mx-5 put it down to subconsciously slightly lifting my foot off the accelerator on the apex.

They actually have two different track days, one being 98db and the other 105db, both at 500mm revving to half to two thirds of redline. Most of the cars passed this, but a few of the supercars got caught out on the drive by which is 98db. I'm not actually sure how or who sets those limits.
Love this little car, is there a series of build vids? There's nothing obvious in the playlists 🤔

It really is amazing, with the progress in technology over the last 50 years, just what you can do with a competition car, with things produced by cnc, carbon, modern electronic components etc, and not just on minis.
A good case to add a 2nd fuel pump. I have a Facet gold top pump and a cheaper version plumbed in in parallel as a back up. I also installed an earth post nearby the pumps for a good earth return. These pumps are quite noisy but easy to tell if they are not running. Track day looks mega. Have you tried Yoko A048s ?
@markdraper7

Thanks Andy, i will get a 2nd pump as a spare. Mine is a red top one and very noisy, but you can't hear it once the car is running. We were running the Yoko's for the past 2 years but thought we'd try out the Nankang ones. 😎
Keith does it not seriously scare the crap out of you racing someone else’s Mini? Lol when’s Piiioows track day?
Thought Mark said brake at 75? Be seein you
