Spinning Wool Into Yarn - Carding a Mixed Batt, Turning it Into Roving, and Spinning it!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I love spinning these batts, and I've been trying to make sure I work on spinning bulkier yarns now and then. It's just so easy over time for your yarns to get thinner and thinner. This yarn turned out great!

My son (6'5") got my (4' 10 1/2") dyes, steamer, "good fibers" down from the top shelf in my sewing/craft room! Yeah!!!! My plan is to spend Christmas Day just playing with fiber, dyeing some and maybe using the drum carder but definitely spinning. Our house has been waaaaay too effected by COVID and getting ready for a virtual Christmas this year so I haven't been at the fibers much. Since you asked: I am in Minnesota and the COVID is real! So my 17 yo grandson has ended up living with me since April due to the yuck. And his dog, a golden doodle (2 1/2 yo) who is now in heat thank you very much COVID for not allowing her to get spade. Whatever. At the moment our house and extended families are in various stages of illness/quarantine/holed up. But thankfully we are all alive. This Christmas will be like Thanksgiving - virtual. Stay safe people and smile behind those masks, twinkling eyes can be seen and are appreciated. ♥

It got very scary here for awhile too. Or local hospital was literally unable to get patients feed for entire days because they were packed. It's a different kind of Christmas but we are very thankful for what we have this year.

Hi everyone, yeah it's been a real crazy year. Lockdown situation which we all find Ourselves In. Yeah I know this COVID19 is bad , I can sympathise with pepple who have had it. 4 members of my family have had it, a lady that my son worked with had it & unfortunately she passed away. One of my grandsons was hospitalized with it. Fortunately his brother had it but not as bad. Has we come to the end of this year I hope that 2021 is Filled with Love,Joy,Peace &Hope MERRY Christmas to everyone Blessings to all. Love Jen xxxx 😃😃🎄🎄🎁🎁💗💗💗💗

@@FiberLoveDiary That is insane! It hasnt gotten that bad here Colorado has done pretty good, my boss is super sick though and has been out of work for a month and a half. He is on Oxygen 24/7 he took the Oxygen off just long enough to change and his O2 level dropped to 82. In Colorado anything below 90 is bad news. He has fluid in his chest cavity, double lung infection and two blood clots in his right lung. He is having a rough go at it but he is alive and I have been stalking his Facebook and GoFundMe for updates on him.
I am just mesmerized, i could watch this over and over. You should sell some of those huge and beautiful batts on your etsy shop.

So that's what the diz is for!!! You really are an artist, the depth of the colors you choose are so beautiful! It's no wonder they call it painting when you card it on your drum carder.

Thank you! I've been spinning for years, and my husband just got me a drum carder for my birthday, so I've been going through quite the learning curve trying to get my fiber ready to spin!
I am so jealous of that carder.
When you first showed the sequin yarn that you were going to ply with I said "Oh No!" but it was actually the PERFECT combination - thanks for giving me the idea!

I've gone up the chain with carders. I've been carding and spinning for a long time!
Just rewatched this awesome video and this technique worked so perfectly on a Romney batt i made on my drum carder using flicked locks. So fabulous! I also have a huge smile on my face from seeing Luther. Aside from color he is the spitting image of my sweet Charlie whom i miss every day. I want to borrow him for a weekend LOL!
What magic is this?!? Mind blown.

That is so so beautiful! Wow, I need a dizz now!! What's happening here? Well... my County got put into 'tier 4' lockdown which means I'm not allowed to see my family at all. Today is the 2 year anniversary of my mum passing and her birthday is the 24th so it's all a bit shit really 🤣 But, I still have my lovely husband, and my dogs Dexter and Annie, and I have treated myself to a super flyer for my kiwi, because why the heck not...! Thankyou for all the inspiring videos this year, I only started spinning in August but lovely youtubers like yourself have made the process so much easier to learn. Hello from Oregon! I’m new to your channel and WOW this was such a gorgeous combination of colors you created! What a interesting process to watch! This was like chicken soup for my soul. My best friend and fellow nurse raised sheep with her family for meat and as a hobby many years ago and she would process the wool and make yarn on her spinning wheel and she taught me how to do it. Such fun.

Love the batt you made! 😍. Blue is my favorite color, has been for years. I'm still working at learning to spin consistently, but I'm getting better at it all the time. I got a jumbo ball winder for Christmas, along with a skein winder. I've got some practice singles that I need to ply, I'll probably do that next week, hubby is off work, so I need something to do,or he will have me outside in the cold doing something!
