Another fantastic performance from L&F. Nailing a DCT in one’s second language (or in V’s case maybe his third or fourth) is a true wonder. The miracle of this group which slides under the radar is transcription that allows all the players to nail every aspect of every song.

Their rendition of "My Old School" by Steely Dan is sublime. Unbelievably precise vocals and every instrument played by an absolute virtuoso.

Governments try to make us enemies. Humanity makes us friends. Music makes us brothers.

Wonderful, takes me right back to my college days when the only 3 albums I had was the black Chicago Transit Authority album, Chicago's blue double album and Blood Sweat & Tears" Incredible achievement replicating that sound so unmistakably! Thanks Jeff for giving this awesome band the added exposure they deserve!

Andrey Zyl, the trumpet soloist, has won multiple international jazz-competitions; he's among the best of the very best.

Being and OLD drummer at 71, Igor is VERY good!! Played these songs with various people during the 70's and 80"s; GREAT SOUND!!

"It's like I'm hearing it for the first time" - yes! These tunes I grew up with - hearing Leonid and Friends - with their so totally energized take - it really, really is like hearing these great songs for the first time.

They take great pride in note to note accuracy and it shows. The best cover band in the world.

Vasily is a true rock and roll singer! They are my favorite cover/tribute band on KZread. I hope to catch them on their next US Tour on the West Coast.

I think Vassily was a Russian The Voice winner. He’s amazing! And Leonid on that bass!!!!!❤ Igor is one of the most sought after studio drummers in Europe. Love that you adore them, too! ❤

Woooow what an amazing cover! I first learned this song listening to my little brother's drum show practice CD around 2010 when he was attending primary school... Def brought me back 😄 I'm gonna check these guys out!

I would like to suggest that you look at their rendition of "A Brand New Love Affair" in which Leonid himself both sings and plays the piano, particularly in the first half of the performance. Spectacular in a word. So much talent in this group. Ksenia plays piano also, at a very high level of achievement. I know how much of a fan you are of Leonid himself. You will not be disappointed.

L&F is most of my walking playlist. Also the soundtrack of my highschool and college days. Keep ‘em coming.

Street Player is my favorite along with Beginnings which was the first of their videos I’d seen. I immediately went down the rabbit hole. I saw them in concert in July 2022 and met the band afterwards. Amazing experience!! Good God they’re all spectacular. I can’t wait until you watch the rest…it’s a joy to see! Looking forward to seeing you react to Vehicle…Vasily nails it!

just discovered these guys like 2 days ago and then saw that they came to my neck of the woods back Oct 2023. Oh man, wish I'd known about them then....just can't get enough of Steely Dan "My Old School" or Carpenters "Superstar" - they so totally nail those songs

Exactly! Those horns! Saw these folks in JVille FLA and it was the stuff! Saw BS&T back at Gusman in Miami in 1975. L&F killin it!

I played this song as a young drummer in the late seventies and loved it. This brought back a lot of memories. I only stopped playing last year due to back and hip issues. This makes me want to put the kit back up. Phenomenal drummer in this band, as you mentioned. Check out Speck of Dust if you haven't already (searched your channel). A Leonid original. Orchestra and throat singing and my first experience hearing Ksenia Buzina. Awesome!

I remember when this song came out and LOVED B,S & T and i saw them live multiple times and i tell ya, THIS is the greatest cover ever

Yup -- every bit I've heard of these folks, Live Included(!), is absolutely top flight. Almost dunno how they do it ? ! ? Glad you approve.

So glad you've found L&F. I stumbled across 25 or 6 to 4 years ago and have been a fan since. Saw them in Nashville in 2019. My favorite is Street Player. EVERYTHING they do is top notch. And their music makes people smile...they take great joy in it and their joy is contagious.

I was in boot camp, in the Navy, in Chicago, when these guys were big. I.ve always loved there music, as well as BS&T, EW&F Leoned and his friends, nail it, every time.

Javad (Igor) is a great technician. I follow him on Facebook and he often posts exercises and lessons. He does some very complex patterns that require extensive 'woodshedding' to perfect.

He's the only Ukrainian citizen in the band. The rest are all Russian. He didn't get to travel when the Pugs🐽 invaded the Ukraine since all men 18-60 had to stay within the country. But he's gotten a waiver for work plus he's spreading music and LOVE ❤

Immaculate cover, crystal clear. My “issue” is with Vasily, the accent takes a little bit away from the song. ( IMPO) there isn’t a honest way to knock, insult, disparage this group in anyway. If you didn’t know they were a cover band you’d never think they were.

I think this singer could have a whole career around performing Tom Jones covers...

The band is terrific, of course. But there is only one David Clayton Thomas.

Let me take exception to the Lead vocal characterization - He is in several lead vocals on their work .... he is a growl voice - gruff naturally ... David Clayton Thomas (Lead Vocal for BS&T ) had a great baritone / tenor voice and could get a grit at times but, was a wide range of vocal talent beyond this man herein. Just to give fair recognition for D.C. T. - not knocking anyone. jj

DCT does sing with grit in the original version of this song. Sounds like you are comparing this singers collective work with DCTs. My comments are strictly relating to this one video. I stand by my comments although you are free to agree or disagree.

Actually, at the time they recorded this, Vasiili spoke no English. He's learned quite a bit in the past few years.
