Great movie saw it at the drive-in . There were questions on where the idea for the Stonehenge scene came from. Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath had this to say . We had Sharon Osbourne’s dad, Don Arden, managing us. He came up with the idea of having the stage set be Stonehenge. He wrote the dimensions down and gave it to our tour manager. He wrote it down in meters but he meant to write it down in feet. The people who made it saw fifteen meters instead of fifteen feet. It was 45 feet high and it wouldn’t fit on any stage anywhere so we just had to leave it the storage area. It cost a fortune to make but there was not a building on earth that you could fit it into.

The three main a tors in this movie tried writing a script and couldn't capture the spirit of the movie so instead they made demoscenes to show to potential financial backers. The scene about the small Stonehenge was one of them. That scene dates from 1982, the Sabbath Stonehenge was from '83. Purely a coincidence no doubt but makes everything all the more hilarious.

@@delilasloan8914 It was epic. Not only was it funny, but not long after this the song shifts into its folksie mandolin break before the big power chords come in. I was thinking, this is not just a comedy, this song is epic and wouldn't be out of place on a Zeppelin album! (Zeppelin III or IV, take your pick). It sounded awesome coming through the theater sound system.

The lyrics are actually quite clever... In ancient times hundreds of years before the dawn of history Lived this strange race of people, the druids No one knows who they were what they were doing But the legacy remains here into the living rock of Stonehenge Stonehenge, where the demons dwell Where the banshees live and they do live well Stonehenge where a man is a man And the children dance to the pipes of pan Stonehenge, 'tis a magic place Where the moon doth rise with a dragon's face Stonehenge where the virgins lie And the prayer of devils fill the midnight sky And you my love, won't you take my hand? We'll go back in time to that mystic land Where the dew drops cry and the cats meow I will take you there, I will show you how And oh, how they danced The little children of Stonehenge Beneath the haunted moon for fear That day break might come too soon

I introduced a friend of mine to this film in the early '90s and we were watching it on this crappy little miniature TV in our student accommodation. He didn't see the dwarves on stage, so when St Hubbins said 'a stonehenge monument in danger of being crushed...by a dwarf!" , my friend thought he was being metaphorical and his sides split when Derek's suggested solution to the problem was to fix the choreography "so the dwarves won't trod upon it." LOL.
