To this day it is still Buggin' Out. After all these years. That's still the best shoe moment in cinema. My son cracks up over that scene as well. "Yooo!" lol. And then when the instigators start razzing him about his Jordan's being F'd up. Classic stuff right there. Peace to all and stay safe.

THIS ISNT enough for Spike Lee . He’s a legend in the Sneaker community and deserves to be in an episode of the podcast to discuss his experiences .

He was the 1st person to really introduce a culture of Sneakers into mainstream media. No other movie or show was really showcasing sneakers like that.

I was a kid when they filmed he got game on my block in Coney Island Seeing him and Denzel wearing the 13s he told us Mike was gonna wear them the next season He was such a cool dude He told us basketball stories and sneaker stories The culture would never be what it is without Spike

I graduated from Clark Atlanta University as a Mass Comm major and Spike Lee would come to our department all the time to talk to friends of his that were professors. One professor knew i was into sneakers and i would never forget walking into the department and them saying Spike was here. I ran back to my room and grabbed my Spizikes that at the time just were originally released. I got him to sign the hang tag and the shoe. He was such a cool guy and was shocked i had a pair on me out of the blue. Lol. This was before camera phones (well at least for me) i wish i had a picture to hold the memory

One crazy thing about Spike is not only his influence over sneakers which Joe covered beautifully. He also changed the fitted hat game when he got New Era to make him a red Yankee cap with the 1996 side patch.
