In 1991 in high I was late. I said the same thing. I'm sorry I'm late I had to attend the reading of a will. I stayed to the very end only to find out I received nothing. No shit and the girl working in the office wrote me an excused absence.

@Mac Tex flex capacitor Fletch and Fletch lives are classics. Looking back I'm glad I grew up during the 80's. The woke ruined everything these days. The movie 3 amigos for example. The lefty hive mind would screech cultural appropriation and want people in jail for using fake accents.

Its a crying shame we couldn't have frozen the 80s and stayed there. 90s it all started to go downhill. Now life sucks.

I love his backstory about attending the reading of a will, receiving nothing, then breaking his arm.

The look on Chevy’s face when he’s rewatching it on the tv was priceless.

The part when Chevy takes out the paper and then says, eff it, and takes out his "broken arm" to use both hands to read, always cracks me up. That is next level cajones.

You've said 'next level drawers'. Cajones means drawers in Spanish, as in where you keep your socks. The word you want is 'cojones', which means testicles.

I agree that Chase was great in this. John Belushi was actually the original choice to play opposite Ackroyd but he obviously died before he could film it.

I love this movie so much. Remember seeing this In theaters with my mom. Chevy and Dan at there best.

Chevy Chase is one of the great comedic actors of all time. I don't really care for him as a person, but several of his movies are among the best ever. Spies Like Us may not be his best movie, but it still a very good movie.

I think Chevy over 40 years later still feels responsible for Doug Kenney's death. They were both misanthropic people whom possess Mensa level genius.

I'm so in love with this movie... I saw this when I was in elementary first grade. Me and my brother who is older than me 6 years, would tell me, Spies like us is on HBO!!! Nothing else mattered when this movie was on. I would like to meet Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase just to thank them both for this masterpiece... By the way, the bald teacher is the one that voiced Yoda in original Star Wars if I'm not wrong...

Jim Henson was Kermit - not Frank Oz. Oz was Yoda, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, Bert, Grover, Sam The Eagle, etc.

I had a similar incident (that failed) where I forgot to study for a Keyboarding test. I wrote all the letters on the keyboard on my hand. The teacher came up to me and angrily accused me of trying to cheat. But I was able to convince him i was just practicing writing down the letters in correct order, and i was going to wash it off. So I had to wash it off in front of him lol and I still managed to get 85% or so because I memorized the letters in that small moment

The gum part is so fun . I seen this movie so many times . The ninja spins and comes nowhere close to the trees and the all fall down . You hear that guys , he's ganging up on us ! Let's get him as he's pointing and walking away . Classic move .

Frank Oz is an absolute legend in these roles. From the Blues Brothers to Trading Places, he just makes the scene. Very underrated actor.

My old college pal who hardly studied for his test came to our European History class late...saying he was involved in a car accident and that the experience tramatized him to the point where he couldn't take the test. Needless to say that my professor felt the least bit sorry for him and made him take the exam. It took everything I had NOT to burst out laughing.

“What’s that sound?” “It’s a dickfur”. “What’s a dickfur?”….” To pee with”. Great movie.

This reminds me of my high school finals week right down to the last eyepatch

I haven’t seen this scene in over 25 years. What I noticed this time around is how similar this duo’s dynamics are to that of Pryor and Wilder, eg in Stir Crazy.

One of my favorite scenes in one of my favorite Movies. Sometimes regular guys actually can do great things. This fictional comedy is a fun inspiration to try even if lots of people fail . Just don't mess up good things while you do it.

The best period of humor of all time. Thanks to share.
