It makes sence to outline your 3 phases of channel development in a review that compares 2 instalments of a trilogy especially since identity is such a big part of this. Dude Im so honoured to be on honourable mentions ❤ and happy that ur channel is getting what it desrves👊🏼 so this is phase 1!! then count me in for phases 1,2,3... And 4. Also first time I watched the second movie I was 20 minuets late and still had a blast there is not much bad to even say about this movie even for the fact that my ADHD brain got a kick from the past hour and god knows how long to what seemed like a short span of 45 minutes (thats when u know your enjoying yourself) and damm that spider man chase scene with all of them your right infinite times of me watching it would still hold up and would enjoy pretty much like the first time, I also get a little kick to this movie as the heros name is called Miles, for thats also my name too!!! Also for future stuff in this channel mabey I would reccomend what your already doing! Heh, nice to meet you, Miles. I bet that dials the immersion to 11, when you watch the Spider-Verse films. The horror thing is not a bad idea, actually. I used to love getting together with some chums and bashing the shit out of bad horror movies, back in the day - we'd turn the whole thing into a comedy. Also planning on experimenting with some creepy visuals and sounds for some videos, so both of those could work out. Cheers.👊🏼

Man. Thanks my guy for the call out. I remember the first time I watched your Mass Effect video about the paragon and renegade system and thinking, "What is this guy on about," but what I came away from that video and the discussion we had in the comments was that you had a huge passion for what you were talking about and I can't help but admire that. Even though we did disagree I still enjoyed it nonetheless. My thoughts since then has changed a bit and in no small part to your video. I often see people too afraid to talk about what they want but you boldly state your opinions with no regard to anything. Which is why I kept watching. You have become a channel I, evidently, watch regularly. Thanks for the insightful videos and I can't wait to see more from you. But onto the other part of the video. I remember the first time I watched Into the Spider-verse and thought, "Neat movie but the story is a bit simple." Then the second one tried to tackle a bigger less explored subject which I like quite a bit. As for me my favourite was the second one because I love deep dives into how characters act and using a multi-verse setting is such an amazing idea to do it with. Once again thanks for the content. Can't wait for more.

Oh yeah - went back and re-read through some of those comments. That really was a _good conversation_ - and you also gave some valuable feedback about the humor in the videos, and that's been tremendously helpful. "with no regard to anything" is the best summary of my content. And my life, probably. And yeah, regarding Spider-Verse, I'm obviously torn between the 2 movies, and depending on what they do with the 3rd one, I might change my opinion of the second. Thanks for all the kind words. @@CynicalWarlock I have always enjoyed those conversations. You have definitely changed my perspective on a lot of stuff. And I appreciate you being very upright with your opinion. The 3rd movie is definitely gonna, not necessarily, make or break the series. I originally thought the 1st movie was gonna be a standalone but with it being a series it has a lot more pressure on making it a cohesive whole.

Damn, and I thought I was spoiled after the reference in the D4 video. This just fills me with feelings I can't even describe and so it was unexpected, honestly! It really makes me happy having you as my comfort channel. Edit: I miss Inkubaszi :/

Same. It didn't really occur to me that yall saw/interacted with each other as soon as it should've. Maybe should've made a Discord server or something, to foster more interaction. Anyway, you deserve the inclusion. It's the least I could do for the people that listen to everything I babble about. Most people lack even 1 of those, in real life, when you think about.

Congrats on 1K subs dude! I'll be along for the ride as well, until you get too popular (and you will, your stuff is great), then I'll leave you like all my other subs. And you'll feel dirty, used and hollow, but never really know why. Oh, and nice review too. I just saw Spider-Verse 1 and 2 about a month ago, so can definitely appreciate what you're saying here. I think I enjoyed the first one more too, just feels better as a story, compared to the inbeetweequalness of the second one. I'll also definitely be watching the third one, to see it all come together, or crash and burn! 🔥

Use me like one of your French girls. Makes sense, there's a certain grassroots creativity, intimacy and authenticity that are lost, when a KZreadr becomes too big. That and they can't keep track of your comments anymore. It's kinda like livestreams: as long as it's small, you can actually talk to the streamer and share a meaningful conversation.

Solid video! I LOVE Into the Spider-Verse, but for me, Across the Spider-Verse took everything the original was and did it even better, all the while being “half a story.” Truly impressive.

Back from hols and in catch-up mode. Needed to take the time to sit down and properly watch this half hour vid. Thanks for the post-script “shout out” as my kids would say - kind of you to include me. Yours is one of only two channels on YT that I interact with. Hmmm, why...? I just love the way you write and deliver your scripts - you have such a great way with English and the structure and insight you provide enable me to enjoy stuff that's not really in my orbit from games to superhero films. There's good in much media but you buck the trend of either sycophantic fanboying or trashing for likes. I feel that your saying you only review the stuff that means something to you is what makes your channel so authentic. Plus your stupidly clever puns really make me laugh. Keep on doing what you love and I’ll keep on watching. And to address this video rather than just gush with admiration. Spiderverse 2 looks visually stunning animation and action wise- I’ve not seen 1, but the kids have and they loved it (downloading alternate universe cut now). Help yourself to all the white booty cracked me up and chilled me out about the whole trying to appeal to ethnic minorities element which seems well done in a non-oppresssed “in your face” way. Looking forward to seeing the chase sequence involving all the spider men and women in this “Inbetweequal” - great word. Anyway, you introduced me to Edgerunners which I loved, so I reckon I’ll be watching this with my youngest very soon. Cheers, man.

Aaand I just finished watching Into and Across the Spider-Verse (and rewatched your vid) with the 12y/o. “Into” was really excellent - incredible animation, colour palette, and possibly the first time I’ve seen numerous styles of animation (manga girl, cartoon pig) on-screen together. Great story, villain with motivation, and SpiderGirl was pretty cool (Miles’ sticky hand was a clever way to give her the stereotype action-girl shaved sides haircut). For me, “Across” started with Gwen being way too quippy in a Deadpool-meets-Melissa McCarthy way - too cool for school. Then the pace slowed quite a bit when we met the Spot, whose motivation wasn’t that strong. I felt it hit a low point after the quippy action/exposition-dialogue montages involving the Indian and UK Spidermen. Peter Parker never feels quippy though… However, things definitely picked up in the second half, action-wise and story-wise and by the end I really had a good time - thirsty for more. 12y/o enjoyed it, describing the first half as “more emotional but still good”. He laughed multiple times during your review, so your humour works from 12 all the way to (ughh) 49… Thanks for bringing these to my attention, Cynical, you’re a cool guy, wherever in the Multi-Verse you live.

You're right, the second one is a bit uneven, and throws a lot of stuff at you. I chuckled at the "Deadpool-meets-Melissa McCarthy" remark. Also at your son implying that emotionality and drama is a bad thing to put on-screen. I distinctly remember finding it lame and 'icky', at his age. And speaking of cool, I can't imagine anything cooler than being able to watch superhero animations with your dad.

Hehe, you may swear a bit but it's not like he's never heard those words before, besides it's the analysis and comparison that I wanted him to see - I stopped when your vid got to "to be continued" which also gave him a laugh. He's cool with emotional stuff and enjoyed Edgerunners' ending a lot. Huh, Arcane, the Batman, Edgerunners and now SpiderVerse - and all because I was trying to figure out why I didn't like Dune... Cheers man, we've seen a lot of decent stuff on your recommendation!

I know that both movies have state-of-the-art animation but isn't it high time superheroes stuck a pin in one reality and ripped up their passports?
