I still remember playing this game at midnight

ahh I remember being like 4 and waiting for everyone to fall asleep, turning the volume down and attempting to play the game (never got past the first mission). This game has forever been stuck in my mind, and now I realize maybe it’s not the game that’s stuck but the memories of that time.

I loved this game. I remember renting it all the time. I finally found it in a Win Dixie grocery store and had taken money out of my savings account my mom wasnt happy but I bought it anyways lol. I played this so much in started playing it on Nightmare and venom would show up throughout the levels mostly during a boss battle ornrifht before. Wish I still had it. Great memories.

I know the music in general is kind of weird but I’ve always liked the song at 10:42.

I was 9 years old when this came out.. It was a BIG DEAL at ALL the EB'S in the Mall..

I haven’t seen this in over 30 years, and it all flooded back like it was yesterday. Unbelievable.🤣 ( i finally saw how to win the final level…never figured it out back then😂)

this was the first genesis game I ever saw, I told my dad I wanted one, and we went out that day and got it. I remember trying to always get the prefect shot lol

I prefer this over the Sega CD version. The weird music makes it very unique.

I always loved how this game implemented the web fluid mechanic, that I really wished was brought back. You need to take photos of enemies for the Daily Bugle to get the money necessary so you can make more web fluid, which is very important because you absolutely need to use all web moves in this game as you progress. It remains to be the only game to this day to have this money mechanic as the hardest Spider-Man game ever made, because it has a timed run before it's game over and if you die... you go back ALL the way to the start. Only a very few ammount of people in the world have ever managed to see at least one of the endings lol.

So i narrowed it down and i believe this was the one i played way back as a child I remember my father bought me this and i was blown away by the gameplay it felt more similar to the ps1 spiderman game as opposed to say the classic side scroller which is a enjoyable style of game play but it felt so linear this felt more exploration like♡♡

Never had a Genesis. I dig this.

I loved this game so much and it was the first game that I saw that showed Venom as he had appeared originally and close to the time of this game.

Kingpin is the BIGGEST crook this city's ever seen. LITERALLY !

Epic game. A classic.

My 2nd favorite game of all time after Streets of Rage 2. 🏦🔥 amazing!

This is the game that made me want a Genesis back in 1991. Seeing it in the “Genesis Does” commercials had me hooked. I think they based the art style on Erik Larson’s art style with a hint of Todd McFarlane. I would love to see a documentary about the making of Sega’s Spider-Man games.

I remember playing this on my Megadrive back in the mid 90s. Fantastic for an early Spider-Man game. The option to shoot certain scenes with your camera to generate income to get more web fluid is actually pretty neat. I also like how the web sounds when it hits enemies. LOL

One of my favorite Spider-Man games

I’m currently 42. I got my sega for Christmas in 1991 when I was in the 4th grade. I wanted a sega for this game specifically. My dad rented it from the video store because my parents probably couldn’t afford both the system and the game, but I did get to play it Christmas morning. I eventually bought it a few weeks later with my birthday money. I finished all those years ago, but I never knew you could web the device holding Mary Jane to stop the descent. I just got really good at the timing of kicking the Kingpin in the head. What sucks is if you lose to Kingpin or MJ hits the chemical it’s an automatic game over and you have to start from the beginning. Thanks for teaching me something new after over 30 years.

I came to this video just for the music 🎶 I remembered as a kid

I remember the Hell out of this game. I could never get all that far I don't think, but I totally remember thinking how _amazing_ (pun fully intended) the web-swinging and wall-crawling mechanics seemed, and loving how you were able to shoot hardened web pellets and form web-shields just like Spidey did in the comics. I also remember being blown away by the stereo sound from the Genesis, which was a _really big deal_ for me at the time, and how eerie and creepy the music seemed. Hell, I've even still got the game cartridge in the clamshell box around here somewhere... not that I have a Genesis to run it anymore.

Flash back to me. There are so many memories. Thank you for an awesome video.

I've been searching for this game....I didn't know it was a spiderman.. thought it was a Shinobi...as I last played the game when I was about 9 or 10... im gon emulate and play now lol

The Genesis and SNES both were amazing systems. Yes I was more of a Genesis kid than a Nintendoer, BUT that is NOT to say the Nintendo was bad. I started my gaming when my Dad and Mom got me a Nintendo for Christmas.🎄🎁🎄🎅🤶🧑‍🎄🐎🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🛷🎅🎁✨🎇 I was always a video game kid. I had a old Pong System 😪 when I was like 7 or 8, but then I was given a Atari 2600. Combat was the "pack-in" game but you needed two people to play it and I was an only child, so pfft to Combat. Then games like Kaboom, Pitfall, Circus,🎪🙄, Duck-man I mean Pac-Man...or Wafer-Man? I loved my Atari, and yep I even had E.T.! I can remember my Mom letting me take the🚌bus🚌with a buddy down to Toys R Us to get the new release of Donkey Kong. Looking back it was so horrible graphically. But I played it for hours, days, nights! Then Christmas 🎄 1985 I got a Nintendo Entertainment System for a present!🎁😅! I loved it! My Dad and I played Duck Hunt for hours, and my Pops was actually really good at it!?!? It was so much fun. That System started a trend of gaming that was unlike anything I had seen, at home anyway, ever before. The Sega Master System was not nearly as well known as the Nintendo, but I did eventually get one. Then the "wars" began. Nintendo vs. Sega! Sega has what Nintendon'T was the catch phrase. That and yelling SEGA! Now for me? I used my job to "fund" my gaming "addiction" in that when the new consoles came out I initially got a Genesis, but then I also got a SNES as well. Back then I will say I was more of a Sega fan. For only one reason. Sega had better Sports games. NHL Hockey🏒 & Madden NFL🏉Football🏈 were iconic games. World Series Baseball was also another great game and I love ⚾️Baseball⚾️so the Genesis was for me anyway a better system. NBA Live was another EA sports🎮game🎮 and again I loved🏀Basketball🏀. Ah but then the SNES had NBA Showdown, and Techmo NBA and NFL came out. Hmm? I don't remember how the releases happened, BUT I was a HUGE Techmo Football fan! I got sick of the "wars", I ended up buying a SNES, AND a TurboGraphx-16 as well. My job was for my gaming "habits"...lol! I can even remember getting the Sega Genesis 💿CD💿and wondering WTF DID I BUY? Looking back now, there were/are some really incredible 🎮 games for all of these systems. Bonk's Adventure for the TurboGraphx-16 is one of the best 16-bit games made as far as a side scrolling adventure game anyway. Konami made some iconic Batman games for the Genesis and SNES BOTH! LJN made some real 🥚EGG🥚FARTS! 😳🙇‍♂️💩💩💨💨🥴🥴🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 The point is for those of us who were lucky enough to grow up during these days, we got to see Rock stars like Megadeath, Mötley Crüe, Iron Maiden, AC⚡DC, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Dokken, Ratt, Ozzy Osborne, and the band I saw at County Stadium 🏟 PINO FLOYD! We got to see some iconic and HOF bands in concert, we got to see the gaming industry explode and turned our homes into mini arcades. The 70's lit the technology fuse, the 80's exploded it, and the 90's into the next century, keeps trying to perfect it. And gamers get to play crazier and more insanely detailed games than ever before, HOWEVER these video games from the 80's and 90's are still the best ever made!

This was one of those games that i played as a kid and kinda didnt care for it but then i liked it more and more as i got better at it. Takes you on a journey. Venom was always a pain in the ass for me.. The boss fight with King Pin is epic. I like that you go flyin when he hits you.

I remember getting so fucking scared when Venom would randomly show up to fight you.

Nostalgic feelings when I got to the ending, but was never able to beat it. Even my brother got fed up.

Great game. I remember wanting this one and the Toys R Us near me didn’t have it in stock so I got Return of the Sinister Six for the NES instead. What a major downgrade… Eventually I got this at Babbages in the mall. It also came with an offer for 3 free Spider-Man comics that I took advantage of. Never subscribed after the free issues.

This game contributed to me being the rage filled adult I am today.

How was any kid going to beat Kingpin and save MJ at the same time? 😆 Kingpin was a damage sponge to end all damage sponges and you had to keep on eye on MJ the entire time while trying to stay alive.

I just can't seem to get Venom and Hobgoblin to work like you did. My RNG is just bad I think. Venom gets on top of me and just will not get away, no matter how I jump he is on me, etc. It sucks. >_< But your video has been a great help for me.
