This is one of the hardest games on the sega genesis. I remember playing altered beast and getting sick of having my ass handed to me. Then I would turn on Xmen just to have the same effect. The 90's was the golden era of gaming, but created some masochist, or taught us life lessons early. One of those things 😂

Came here to say this. One of the most innovative game-play designs. After failing about 10 times I finally thought, "this is the Mojoverse and nothing makes sense there, so why not try the Genesis' system reset button?" Then it worked! Wasn't until metal gear solid did anything come close to that innovation. (You had to plug a 2nd controller into the system and use it instead so Psycho Mantis couldn't "read your mind" with controller 1.)

13:48 Apocalypse boss fight. Instead of trading blows, you can actually "false jump" like you're going to go over him. He does that vertical beam thing to try and hit you, but you pulled back to dodge it. This second vertical weakens him and you can then hit him. He will power up again, rinse, and repeat.
