It’s amazing how out of all shows to adapt Peter Parker’s personality, this one surprisingly came the closest to the Lee/Dikto era. I wonder if that was intentional or not

@@stanfordfeynman2796 he's basically comic Peter brought to life. Also in the first season he really does portray the ditko vibe and was a little more naive and flippant and his voice sounded a little higher.

Spider-Man was such a badass in this show and they actually showed him to be really powerful. It also stayed true to his character and spirit. Such a great adaptation that ended too soon.

The actual animation is fluid. the cgi is just primitive but the cel shading makes it look much better than other cgi shows that were airing at the time

I like how whenever he's Peter Parker he perfectly Blends in with the animation Style but whenever he's in his Spider-Man costume he sticks out of the animation style like a sore thumb.

I think they did something similar in the Spider-Verse movie; all the Spider-People moved at the same frame rate, except for Miles, at least until he officially suited up.

@@yourfatboy5359 that's what I love like you sometimes need to tell dark stories and to see spider-man overcome the dark and brutal challenges he has to face and brings light to it everytime is why he's my favorite superhero like he's life isn't as easy as other shows made it seem spectacular, 90's and my most favorite tnas are the only ones that shows the challenges he faces and doesn't always succeed as peter or spider-man sometimes he loses.

This show had alot of original villans that they just never used again

The art style and animation made me connect both the Ultimate spidey game and this cartoon, but the story and references are from the trilogy of movies I remember being so confused by trying to somehow connect all of them together as a kid lol

To this day this remains my favorite TV adaption of Spider-Man ever made. The quips are still there, but they take a backseat to let this darker incarnation of him shine. Most folks also seems to miss the fact that this indeed takes place in the Raimi universe Correction: The show was canon before the release of Spider-Man 2 and beyond.

The fact that this is some sort of continuation of the raimi universe is actually interesting, I could see this happening in the main Raimi universe where after Spider-Man 3, Peter starts to take shit more seriously instead of joking around too much

I know this version of Spider-Man is meant to be a non-canon continuation of the Sam raimi Spider-Man movie but I think he's a lot more badass here than he is in the rest of the trilogy. And also he has a lot more charisma than in the rest of the trilogy.

Loved the 90's TAS and even the counter-earth follow up that flopped. But this series is seriously underrated.

I like this version of Peter he does make jokes but he is way more experience and mature and takes the job seriously when he has to

It looks like the shading got drastically better after the first couple episodes, and it really shows here and in the following clip.

This animation is a little awkward at times but it's beautiful still

Neill Patrick Harris is up there with the best portrayals of spiderman.

I like how the blone guy is wearing sunglasses, but still gets pepper sprade :)

Glasses can't protect shit since there's a huge gap between the lenses and the eyes. Perhaps some of the spray could be blocked by the lenses, but to have full eye protection, you'd need to be wearing goggles flush to your face.

Man I remember when this show was airing the same time as spectacular spider man back in my day, and in the same channel nontheless, in Saturday morning it was spectacular, and in weekdays it was this show.

You know even if the animation and style is quite outdated, this still holds a bit towards my heart considering I watched this as a kid.

In hindsight the only problem I have with this show is that Peter gets a lot of people killed either by inaction or by accident. For a while Electro was just dead, Connors straight up broke his back against the pavement because of him. And there is a lot of civilian casualties, like everyone who isn’t named ought to have a red shirt on when they go outside. Other than that I guess that anyone who isn’t wearing spandex and a mask looks a little awkward when they move. Their heads feel like they’re going to drift off any second, just really floaty.

I have a feeling this is how netflix animates all body movement in the animes they've helped in and claimed their own after cutting so many corners for stone ocean and then claiming the entire series as their own.
