@@farenhaid13421 Ah yes. He's not fully evil, and has his share of good deeds. But he's certainly not a good guy. Eddie is a man filled with hate who doesn't take responsability for his actions. One of the reasons I didn't like his depict in the 2018 movie. He was a completely nice and chill guy there.

Spidey & Venom vs Carnage is the film we need, and a Doc Ock Carnage ending would be awesome

It’s cool how Venom calls Spider-Man Parker throughout the entire game but when he’s around others he cares enough to hide spideys identity from them. Idk why I just think it’s cool that even though he doesn’t like Spider-Man and knows his identity he chooses to keep it a secret anyway.

I always loved how this game has an original story that isn't an origin. The game expects you to already know these characters. As a kid, this was my first ever exposure to Spiderman and me not knowing any of these characters got me buying all the toys, having my dad educate me on every villain that appeared, me being petrified of Venom. Its such a good game and gave a lot of us our best memories as Spidey fans

Yeah, they were. When this was new, I was blown away.

It’s fucking insane how good and well directed this game was. The banter between Venom and Peter, the portrayal of Venom and the rest of the cast, it’s like watching a comic book come to life right off the pages. This game was ahead of it’s time and should have set the standard for what comic book adaptations should have come to be.

@@alastair7095 Venom wasn't really portrayed as goofy in most stories that I read. He is always depicted as a darker take on Spiderman who wants to enact his version of justice. But in the two films so far he is kind of like this incarnation quippy, silly and somewhat childish. Not that its a bad thing its just somethin I noticed

Venoms introduction is as good as it gets. Dark smokey alley, Heavy creeping riffs, the brutal voice acting, the character design, it's nothing but goosebumps. I can't expect to be terrified of venom as an adult, but I wish I was a kid again just to know if the current movie Venom is scaring kids the way he should and did back then.

That whole chase in the building was a masterpiece. Venom scaring the same lady with the same dialogue twice, Peter hurting his head and they also use the same dialogue but this time back to back to add to its perfection. And of course Venom being a peeping tom was icing on the cake!

I agree, though I will say the that the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 version is still a very fine and well done interpretation of the character. I dont think it needs to top this to still be a good rendition. If anything, I see it as more of a spiritual successor to the Web of Shadows Venom, just with more clearly defined and fleshed out character motivation because the game had more development time than WoS.

I like to imagine that MJ absolutely chewed out Spider-Man and Venom as soon as she got out of the tank, and they both stood there with their heads hanging from guilt.

This is by far the best portrayal of Spiderman's personality. His voice, sense of humor, everything. New games could care to study how they made his personality here, he's so charismatic.

Whoever owns the publishing rights to this game these days has to give us a remaster.

Sony owns the movie rights to Spider-Man, not game rights - otherwise Spider-Man wouldn't appear in any of the other Marvel games (eg. Marvel vs. Capcom, the Lego games, Ultimate Alliance, mobile games, etc.)

​@@gedeonnunes5626 If I recall, Sony wanted to make an exclusive Spider-Man game so they asked Marvel and Insomniac to make it. Worth noting that Insomniac WAS a 3rd party company after they made Spider-Man PS4, but now Insomniac is owned by Sony. Also Marvel/Disney retained all rights of the X-Men again, but the new Wolverine game is still going to be a Sony exclusive. Hopefully that cleared some stuff up :)

It’s this sort of material which makes me believe Tom Hardy’s Venom can have brilliant chemistry with Holland’s Spidey

Yeah and at the time I was like 9 or 10 so I tried to run and couldn’t figure out I had to run with the Camera facing me. I ended up always running into the sides of the tunnel and would get blown up 😂😂

The voice acting in this game was so top notch. Venom was perfect too. Kinda amusing that they basically did the same thing for the movie 18 years later.

This game is such an absolute masterpiece! In every regard, the acting in these cutscenes is nothing short of perfect, there's such a level of respect and appreciation for the stories and characters in the comics, and they managed to tie it together with the story and the gameplay in such a beautiful way. When I first played the game I was so angry at Venom's taunts in the fight where Mary Jane is in the water tank, and it was so funny to see him sneak up on spiderman.... Damn dude, they really don't make games like this anymore

In the case of Spider-Man 2 we've gone backward. In 2023 we get that turd and back in 2000 we got this masterpiece. The world is crumbling

Spider-mans friendship with the human torch is a really nice touch to keep this game in line with the comics

This game aged very well! I’m still coming back to see this content and they can’t even stop balling up fists.

This is one of the best versions of Venom ever. People forget that he is an antihero after he is a villain in the comics. They just look at the cartoons or Spider-Man 3 to prove he’s a villain. I love that the Venom movies are following this approach and actual comic storylines.

Don't forget the Ultimate Spider-Man comics as well, where Venom is portrayed as nothing more than a mindless monster who eats random innocent people all the time in order to keep the symbiote from eating Eddie from the inside. I like that version of Venom, but people sometimes looked at that version along with the cartoons and Spider-Man 3 to prove he's a villain like you said. And now after Spider-Man 2, people are gonna bring that game's Venom up to prove he's a villain. Like, ngl, i love the game, it's good, but it could've been better, especially Venom's characterization.

I’m so glad this is the version of Venom they used for the movies cause honestly it’s the best. Wants to protect the innocent? Check. Makes good quips? Check. Has kind of a dark humour? Check. I could keep going but my point is this Venom… is the best Venom

The fact that I still dream about the ending boss fight where Carnage Ock chased you still gives me nightmares to this day that just means Dee Bradley Baker did a amazing job. So to me one of the best Spider-Man games ever. Also Daran Norris AK Cosmo from The Fairly OddParents did a fantastic and I mean fantastic job as Venom!

Hopefully the upcoming Insomaniac Spiderman 2 has the same personality with this Venom

Man… the nostalgia lmao. It’s crazy how their mouths not moving didn’t bother us back then. This game was so fun as a child.

Nothing can top it. Hes truly friendly to spiderman and teams up to fight carnage . Even made jokes while holding mj by a chain

I always find it hilarious that other major superheroes don't give a crap about spider-man. Like the Fantastic Four and the Avengers live in NYC too but don't do anything about spider villains

Oh man, this Spider Man game has SO many hilarious moments, but you can't beat how they did Venom. They did it so well, I miss when video games were so creative. I still have the game, but this ironically is what introduced to me to Spider Man, Venom, and the villains. Never any other Spidey game is so great. My favorite Venom line, in 6:41 - "Quit slacking, BOY!" LOL

Venom with a sense of humour is much better

Man what a nostalgia trip. I played through this game countless times as a kid. The sequel Enter Electro is also so underrated! Would be thrilled if these games even got a port to the PSN store.

10:27 the moment as a kid where I decided venom was my favorite spider man villain.

I played Spider-Man 2 on ps5 and I do love that game I just didn’t care for venom. So I had to come back for peak venom content. This is the perfect interpretation of him and more media need to do this.

damn this game was way ahead of its time! presentation is super fun while still having a solid understanding of the characters. That cutscene with Eddie imagining what Jonah would say is a perfect example.

‘Again, innocence falls prey to the evil of SPIDER-MAN, rest easy Brock, Venom is here’ That line is so fucking cold 🥶

I'm so glad that this game was my childhood. Such good memories

I also enjoyed the addition of the symbiote tentacles, especially in that chase sequence. Sure they are just 2d images stretched and squashed around, but the fact some had a different color for the eyes and whisked around when Venom lunged further away from the player is most impressive.

What i loved about this game was they explained all the characters and their backstories over the menu. You became a little Marvel/Spiderman specialist during the playtime! And playing the game was awesome! ♥️

Love the sewers in this game 😆 Because of it, when I was 5-6 I thought every sewer system was some sorta of gigantic maze, 20km deep. Rooms where you can't see the floor, or the ceiling. Gameplay and story should always come before graphics and logic
