Neversoft was such a special studio, every game they made had such a unique feel while still feeling like a "Neversoft game". The 90s feel of most of their games, not to mention all the little details, secrets to unlock and secret areas to find. They are one of the best studios ever🤘

These games didn't just have easy, they had "kid mode"

I picked up on that. “We’ve got something that’s really fun even just to move the character around.” “Getting spidey from building to building had to be fun.” Then also Easter eggs like the Baxter building, which in Insomniac‘s game seem to be mostly inspired by Rocksteady in that Rocksteady wasn’t putting actual cameos in the Arkham games but they could put props and locations to hint at a bigger universe... but clearly Neversoft got there first in some ways. Even back then it was obvious that the potential of someone who swings around in NYC like he’s Tarzan beating up dudes for a game was big and you just need to get the fun factor to work.

@@PolarPhantom I think that out of all the Spider-Man games, these following games offer the definitive experience 1: Insomniac's 2018 Spider-Man 2: Spider-Man 2 (2004) 3: Ultimate Spider-Man 2005 4: Neversoft's 2000 Spider-Man 5: Spider-Man 2002

I love how they kind of acknowledge that this game is an achievement and it absolutely is. Not the greatest game ever, but tons of charm and the first 3D Spider-Man game.

The blue print for every spiderman game sense. There was nothing like playing this before school, then coming home and playing until dinner

4:11 thats "Essentially " what we did back in the day...… (at least with tekken 3) the cutscenes WERE our reward (no youtube "ALL CUTSCENE" videos back then)

This game was my life as a kid

Just like spider man PS4 is one of the best games on console, Spider man for PS1 was one of the best games for that console.

This game and the 2nd are soo good, spidey carisma is on point, rino romano saying tose quips is hilarious, the easter eggs and other marvel characters show ups, the 90's animated show charm, stan lee as narrator, i dont think people fully understand what a gem those games are.

This game introduced me to Spiderman and the Marvel universe,Thank you for an amazing childhood game.

I remeber this video from my childhood!! It was introduced into one of those demo discs for the PSX!! I think it was called Jumpack or something like that, it had a lot of other games demos in it like an Army Men and Tony Hawk!!

Cutscenes being a driving force is interesting. Bless these people for making this happen😊. I always used to play this as a child and won. And fun fact spiderman says he knew chad was a mutant in spiderman 2😁.

I mean, it's a good costume but no. The movie suits look way better. Spider-Man 2 is my personal pick, but TASM 2 and Homecoming are great too. TASM 1 is... ok.

1:52-1:58 not sure I agree with this entirely, while I agree I want to press the button and swing to the next building, I would much prefer to press the button and have full control of where I swing, but, that doesn't take away the fact that this game is still allot of fun to play, even if the web swinging is pretty wonky.

@@darknid158 no shit they did a better job they had a much bigger budget then any Spiderman game hell it took 4 years to make with the latest gaming technology this was made in 1 year with only a handful of developers and with such a low budget in 1999 and it's still one of the best iconic spiderman games of all time
