@@zavthe1371 They will most certainly do Red Goblin in the 3rd game. If you don't know, that's Green Goblin with the Carnage symbiote. He has been a big thing since 2018.

That was one hell of a twist for sure. Up to this point in the game i was like "who on Earth even is this dude, why is he in this story?" And then BAM, it's Carnage. WOW.

The reason he's in the coma could be because his mind is resisting the weakened symbiote's attempts to regain control and restart it's plan. If I'm right about that, I guess Carnage would revive Venom, either in the DLC, a spin-off game or Spider-Man 3.

he is genuinly very scary and intimidating. he is clearly insane... but there is sanity to his insanity. he is corrupted by something... but still has wisdom. he is a perfect balance between unhinged and calculating... which makes this itteration of him arguable the most fearsome. I would go as far to say that, now with the symbiote... he might genuinly be the most dangerous and most difficult to take down out of all the spider-man villains we have seen so far and possibly even of all spider-man characters (obviously not counting those we can literally break reality etc)

Its about time someone did something different with Carnage. Making Cletus Kassidy the leader of a nihilistic death cult is both inspired and very fitting. Makes him more than just your run of the mill serial killer. He's now a mad prophet who seeks to bring about the end times with the help of the Symbiotes. I can't wait to see him in the next game.

I love the touch of his blood mixing with the symbiote giving it the iconic red color.

Leave Harry reborn as Anti-Venom (overall agent symbiote form when it comes to suit changes). Carnage could mean Monster Ock & Red Goblin since Green Goblin/Norman & Doc Ock will be there soon. The same goes for Knull & Dracula could mean needs Midnight Sons (Morbius included) & Captain Universe. Though I’m still unsure if Insomniac & Marvel have plans to integrate the classic Venom/Eddie we knew to Insomniac universe.

@@realbluestar2846 I feel like "a Joke" is an overstatement. He was definitely a threat in the film and they certainly did a pretty cool adaptation of the character for what it was supposed to be. Though I think the problems from Carnage mostly stem with Cletus' connection to Shriek and how he genuinely seems to care for her, which just doesn't seem like something Cletus has ever been capable of when concerning his comic book counterpart. Which is the reason I say that the writing really held back Woody's performance in this film, because he seemed like a really good pick for an older Kassidy, but the writing just didn't get his character down right. Kinda like what they did in Spider-Man 3 with Venom. Where he had the essentials of despising Spider-Man, but they felt unjust and he did so more out of jealousy rather than revenge. Kinda making Brock seem more like a whiney Toddler than anything. Essentially what I'm saying is that (imo) they got the essence of Carnage down "fairly" well and I actually really like the design of the character in this film. Though they completely miswrote Cletus' character

Carnage will most likely be dlc for this game since the side missions in the first game set up the dlc stories

I didnt think this was Cletus at first. Cause Im looking at the symbiote like, okay, so some Venom got loose, then i noticed the blood on his hand must of got into the canister, turned it red and my jaw dropped. Great twist Insomniac. You got me there. Better reveal then the Venom movie.

If anything it’s that Cletus feels like a Far Cry villain than anything else, the way he interacts with Peter is very similar to FC games and especially that last scene where he douses Peter with gasoline and lights it up, that same thing happened between Vaas and Jason in Far Cry 3. Can’t wait to see where Insomniac Games goes with Cletus/Carnage

They’re more then likely doing hell goblin. Seeing this is a special blend of the comics and a few comics at that. Carnage is more the one who possesses on mass and he possesses the villains in most iterations giving them their most badass incarnation. So I’m thinking we can look forward to a carnage/symbiote possessed sinister six as the final installment.

And seeing this game introduced the real dark side, blood and gore to this game’s verse; it’s guaranteed people good and evil alike are going to die. It’ll probably be the usuals with a sprinkle of a few others who don’t typically die. If venom killed a couple main characters, carnage is going to kill several. It’s sorta really the only way to stay in line with the verse progression now as well.

This is by far the biggest surprise in this whole game. I literally did not see this coming.

I just got the final scene with Cletus. When he pulled the symbiote out of the cargo, and it turned red... Chills. Actual. Chills. Seriously looking forward to the next game, whenever that is.

@@Crimson.-.it only makes sense though. A 3-part DLC storyline will make money like last time. This 2nd game already focused on symbiotes so having it again won’t be the same. Best to close off this game with Carnage, then have it devolve back to Venom for them to reuse in the future. Carnage is more limited than Venom for sure.

Main villain of the 3rd game cannot not be The Green Goblin. Too iconic it will be amazing. This set it up very well to the point where the DLC for this game can just be absolutely amazing just like the main story was.

I sure hope this means we'll see a Carnage in Spider-Man 3 or as a DLC. Because that would be awesome, especially after the Venom boss fight.

OH S***! Venom was insanely powerful to take down, just imagine what Carnage is about to unleash in possibly the next game!? BTW I absolutely love that they cast Cameron Monaghan to play Cletus/The Flame because his performance on Gotham (TV series) is plenty of evidence that hed be a phenomenal Carnage, hopefully in the next game or a DLC.

Just got the Platinum Trophy and man this game was an absolute love letter to Spiderman and I can’t believe there’s still more to come! Green Goblin is coming! Doc Ock is preparing for revenge! Kletus becoming Carnage somehow. Cindy Moon potentially as Silk! A potential appearance from Miguel/Spiderman 2099! Let’s hope they knock it out of the park just like this one!

If they can make Venom look so badass, I can only imagine what Insomniac is going to do with Carnage… oh and another go at Harry Goblin, whatever.

Honestly, Silk seems unlikely. I think Cindy will just be Miles’s stepsister and figure out his identity, and I prefer that route because how in the world would she get spider powers? Plus, adding a third spider-hero protagonist would be too much

Makes sense they got Cameron Monaghan to play a character whose literally inspired by the joker (Cletus Cassidy/Carnage) only way I couldn’t tell it was him was with that southern accent tho Edit: realized it’s chad Doreck, still a great performance just totally thought it was Cameron because of the ginger hair, similar build and how convincingly he plays a nut job who cracks jokes

I’m freaking scared. Venom was a tough final boss in the main game. Carnage is gonna be the ultimate ass kicker.

This confirms that Carnage will definitely be introduced and that Venom could return to either fight with Spider-Man against him, or join him.

I immediately knew it was Cletus when he appears in the big screen. Plus he’s known for arson and the “crimson” thing was a dead giveaway. Really cool reveal

It flew way over my head but as soon as I saw that symbiote it clicked

I was hoping we’d see Carnage in this series. I also had a feeling this cult leader would turn out to be Cletus Kasady. EDIT: I think their going for a Manson Family/David Koresh vibe for this version of Kasady

They really nailed the Cletus design I keep thinking that his scenes were actually the actor and that it was a movie his facial expressions everything on point

this storyline was so good

5:22 we see the symbiote starts off as black but once it sees and feels the energy that Cletus gives off it starts to change red and excited when he says CARNAGE

We need Eddie Brock first so Venom can become an ally who still doesn’t like Spidey but he would be willing to team up so they can fight Carnage. Venom will still be an anti hero but is good enough to team up with Spidey with Eddie’s help

Yo if Carnage being in this, I may think of something in my mind, there might be a terrifying boss to bring back, and it’s with Carnage and Doc Ock making it Carnage Doc Ock, bringing back 2000s nostalgia

I wonder if there will be a "Monster Ock" in the next game... it would be a nice tribute to the PS1 game

I can't believe that's Brad from My Life as a Teenage Robot as carnage over here. Yeah, that blew me away, almost as much as Tony Todd's Venom.

Osborn has to be the main villain next game. Everything bad that happened in the Spider-Man games was a result of Norman’s actions - his experiments with Devil’s Breath led to the death of Li’s parents, leading him to become a villain hell-bent on revenge and the creation of the Sinister Six, leading to the city being attacked by them, led by Otto Octavius, yet another person who despises Osborn with a passion, and Otto’s actions caused the release of Devil’s Breath into New York, killing many people including Peter’s aunt May. This led to the creation of the second Spider Man, Miles Morales, due to Li’s terrorist act at City Hall where many were killed, including Miles’ father. Now in his pursuit to cure Harry, he had him consumed by the symbiote which drove Harry into madness as well as almost but confirming the birth of Carnage, another variant of Venom, and the birth of the Green Goblin. Norman has a lot to answer for.

I feel like he should be saying “The fire rises.” Also he already feels more dangerous than Venom, maybe it’s the music and dialogue. It’s not just “I’m sick and remember when we were friends Pete?” He has a Joker feel of I’m just coming back to tear things apart. Not to mention in the comics Carnage always seemed more wild with the symbiotic blades and everything.

I hope the next game remembers this side quest and has him return as carnage (not as the main villain. But secondary antagonist along side Norman and Otto)

I had a feeling that the flame was Cletus.

The best part in my opinion is that I was under the impression that they were setting up Molten Man, hence the missions being called, "The Flame". As soon as he started talking about the symbiote though, my jaw dropped!

I am fucking praying that we get proper Carnage, fucking scary one, come third game/dlc - please, I just want my fav boy to get a moment in spotlight.

So that man who was the leader of the Flame was Cletus Kasady the Carnage's famous host well that means we might see Carnage and Norman Osbourne's Green Goblin as the villains in the 3rd game or something.

But Venom has like multiple meteorites to make him ridiculously powerful… still I’d love to see how they handle Carnage (and it probably won’t disappoint)

Through the game I thought this was going to lead to a fight with molten man, but when I saw the symbiote my jaw dropped, Carnage is my favorite spiderman villain and I can't wait to see what Insomniac does with him

I knew one day Cameron Monaghan was going to play the role as Cletus Kasady some day

As someone who's favorite villain of all time is Carnage, I really hope that he is just Dlc for this game and doesn't play a big role in the next. If he's part of the Sinister 6, that's fine. But, I don't want 2 big symbiote games in a row. I think that would be too much.

It’s a shame Carnage is gonna be used up as a dlc villain, he has so much potential to be the main villain in the 3rd game alongside Green Goblin.

Yeah I'm guessing he's either going to be a dlc boss in spiderman 2 or 3 but who knows, maybe Green goblin will get the Li treatment and be a secondary antagonist

@@orangemochacino6420 I dont believe any official source confirmed he would be a dlc only character but even then I don’t see it becoming a problem. First a Venom led DLC where we play Venom again going against Carnage and leaving him for dead, but in the third we could have Norman find Carnage unconscious and emprison him, thinking he can use the symbiote for his revenge against Spidey. Worst case scenario you’re right and I wouldn’t even mind, because if Carnage does only have one future appearance, in DLC or spin-off, they’ll make him as good as can be. And Green Goblin is still a sick villain by himself.

It was easy to suspect something when we first met him but he could've been an original throw away, tho it became obvious when we saw the red symbiote, but i was fully sold on it when he turned to toss the lighter and you got that full Cletus Kasady grin with clear madness in his eyes. Perfect.

Hell yeah this Spiderman game really upped their game, Now "Let There be CARNAGE"

I wish they’d show “Maximum Carnage” this kind of love! Spider-Man 2 was an amazing PS1 game, but I have fonder memories of playing Maximum Carnage on Genesis .. would be fun to see a redone version of it for the older fans and introduce a classic to the newer fans! 🤟🏻🤟🏻

Next game is gonna be wild, Green Goblin? Carnage? Dr. Octavius? Red Goblin? Cindy Moon? And there’s gonna be more.

Yeah the storylines in this game were epic I just wish it would have been a little bit longer game

I know it's unlikely considering this game is called "SPIDER-MAN" but having a DLC that has you use wraith for the continuation of this story would be pretty sweet

carnage being in this game might be my one reason for why i want to play this now

I just hope Carnage will be this brutal monster from the comics like in the one where he took over a town through the water system

What I think they may do is that that they are going to introduce a part where Doc Ock + Superior Spider-Man Story Line, coupled with some Maximum Carnage. Then either Superior Spidey or just Spidey takes out Carnage w/ or w/o Miles. Green Goblin for now is just kinda like a reoccuring villian throughout the game. Then the Carnage Symbiote attaches to Norman and we get a Final Boss is Red Goblin thing. Cuz Carnage will be a big problem. Doc Ock is working on somthing right? SO what if he is working on how to get a new body? He Gets Peter's body and Tries to do good (in his own way). Norman not knowing Doc Ock is in Spider-Man's body tries to get "Revenge" for Hary's coma state (Probably Introduce Green Goblin before Peter gets body snatched). Later, Since Doc Ock has some bad blood with Norman Superior Spidey beats him pretty bad. Norman gets filled with hate but can't do much about it. Then Superior Spidey tries to beat Carnage and finds out he isn't doing so hot. He eventually gives Peter his body back. Peter and friends take out Carnage. Carnage Symbiote Leaves to Green Goblin. We get Red Goblin. Maybe? They mixed a bunch of Storylines here so it wouldn't be a suprise for SpiderMan 3 as well.

All this time i thought he was Molten man but this is far more scarier

Green Goblin and Eddie Brock better be in the next game or dlc. Maybe Venom and Spiderman will fight together against Carnage in the next game.

Green Goblin absolutely is in the next game, the way the main story ends hints at it. I dunno about Eddie Brock, but I imagine whenever Carnage shows up next, Venom will also - potentially a Venom game?

Anyone think the dlc will cover these other bosses ?!? I really hope so because this game feels like it’s meant for us to fight carnage.

The moment where he picks up that symbiote and my mind began to instantly piece together all the hints that had come before just now realizing the real monster standing before me

The way I stood up straight when I saw the symbiote turn red in his hands. The jaw dropping fact when I realized The Flame was Kletus Kasady the whole time and I *never* picked up on it. The shivers I got when I realized that _Venom is just the beginning_ and that things are going to get even more insane in the next game (Seriously, Carnage shouldn't be relegated to DLC. I really hope he isn't, and if he does then it needs to be a LENGTHY DLC). This whole scene was a masterclass of revelations and writing. Insomniac nailed it.

I knew that was Cletus Kassidy. Especially his Unstablity and when he took that Red Symbiote.

I don’t think this is for the 3rd game, more for dlc because it’s a side story. Especially if Norman becomes goblin and doc ock is coming back, it would be a little weird to have carnage mixed in and not be the top villain.

I've heard some people bring up the possibility of Red Goblin being a thing? Though that might be bit of a hat on a hat, given we just had Venom AND one of the Osbourne's be the Big Bad of this game. Lol.
