36:07 , the reason why he could do that is the spider's powers. The suit gives him a lot of new abilities of course, but he is still Spiderman without it. He has power's like super-strength and the ability to climb up walls and surfaces, just not (In everything but Tobey Maguire's version) shoot webs and all the other abilities that Tony's suit gave him.

The Vullture talked about how they'd operated for years, without any interference from anyone not even the Avengers, until Spider-man came along. That's why there needs to be a Friendly NEIGHBORHOOD Spider-man, While the Avengers are taking care of global or universal threats. In the comics Spider-Man is one of the few heroes that deals with street level crime, from regular muggings to Super-Powered, but still regular criminals (as in stealing rather than world domination) and also deals with Avengers level threats.

This isn’t Michael Keaton’s first comic book superhero movie. He was also 1989 Batman. While we only had one fully costumed supervillain, this film featured a few other enemies of Spider-Man. Aside from the two Shockers, Phineas Mason is the Tinkerer and Mac Gargan is the Scorpion. @25:31 Aaron’s nephew is Miles Morales. In the comics, he’s another incarnation of Spider-Man. Miles is also the lead character in the animated movie Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend checking it out. The sequel Across the Spider-Verse is in theaters now but rumors are that it’ll be released on digital next month.

Hey Emme, the reason you didn't recognise the Thor mask in the bank robbery scene is because the masks have the likenesses of the Avengers characters from the original comics they appeared in. This is why Thor looks like Heman wearing a viking helmet (ish), and Iron Man looks like he has high cheekbones... love all your reactions, keep it up!👏👍 Also , I find the Vulture is another example of how the villain is doing the wrong thing for (almost) the right reasons... Tooms starts stealing these things to make ends meet by losing so mich money due to the loss of his clearup contract with the City, losses made by investment in extra machinery for the battle of New York cleanup and still having to provide for his family, eventually the power has become so addictive that the Vulture was born.

What makes him a complex character is that the Spiderman we all know is him as always a teenager when his powers are not fully developed. However, with the set of abilities he has and is beginning to develop, as an adult age he is able to easily fight all the Avengers.

Great reaction! OK, several things to talk about. I love the title Homecoming because it refers not just to the high school dance, but also to the Sony-Marvel deal that brought Spider-Man back to Marvel. After all the Sony movies, this one was a homecoming of sorts. Yes, Marisa Tomei is universally hot. I have had a crush on her for decades. It's not spelled out, but I'm guessing the Vulture didn't sell Peter out in the end credit scene because Peter saved his life, the same way he paid Peter back for saving Liz. The Vulture was one of the original Spider-Man villains in the comics back in the '60s and '70s when my brother let me read his Marvel collection, so it was really good to see them use him here. I also liked the technology update they gave him as in the comics he just wore a green bird suit that was hand-waved as some sort of technological invention.

I'm pretty sure Peter's school is a public school, not private. Most kids in NYC just go to the school near where they live, but they also have "magnet schools" that exceptional students can apply to that specialize in different areas of study. The Stuyvesant High School, Bronx High School of Science, Queens High School of the Sciences, the LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, the Humanities Preparatory School... there's a bunch of them. You can go to any of those schools you get accepted to, even if you don't live near them. All NYC high school students get a transit pass to make it easy for them to get to school if your school doesn't have school buses or if their buses don't go near your house. Midtown Tech doesn't actually exist, but I do think it's meant to be one of those type of schools.

27:06 Well, the criminals obviously must have reverse engineered their tech. So they do understand. Toomes predicted that the thing was gonna blow before it even happened. 36:07 He has superpowers. Including super strength. You already saw him use it before. He casually stopped Winter Soldier’s punch from his metal arm with no issues. And he caught the bridge that Captain America dropped on him, which was super heavy. And according to his conversation with Ned, he has stopped a bus with bare hands. You saw No Way Home, that means you also saw when he Green Goblin busted through multiple floors in their fight. In the other Spider-Man movies, he has shown his strength as well. In the first Spider-Man movie (Tobey’s), he held a cable car with like 20 kids. In Spider-Man 2 he made a train full of passengers stop. Andrew’s Spider-Man has been shown catching cars and being tough enough to take lightning to the face multiple times. A single touch from Electro can kill a man. Yet Peter can take lightning blasts from him and just keep going. Basically, he is superhuman. Spider-Man in the comics is even stronger. Being able to support extremely heavy things, like the Daily Bugle building and even managed to break one of Iron Man’s suits by punching it.

I think that part of the reason most of the actors feel younger than they are is that Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon (Ned) were all born in 1996. So while there were all 20 when making the film, they are the same age. Laura Harris as Liz stands out because she was born in 1990; not a huge difference, but enough to be noticeable. Happy Hogan can have a much bigger role in this film because the actor, Jon Favreau, directed the Iron Man films. Also, this was made at a time when Marvel didn't have film rights to the Spider-Man character, so this film was made with some really complicated coordination between Sony & Disney. Having Happy & Tony in the film provides an MCU connection to a non-Disney film.

An oft less properly explained superpower of Peter's is he has the proportionate strength of a human sized spider. So he is SO strong. That's how he can lift that rubble. In the MCU canon, I can see how his overall stength be misunderstood as aide from Stark's Spider Suit. But, as far as I'm aware, there really isn't MANY in the MCU heroes roster that are as physcially as powerful as a fully realised Spider-Man. You'd have to go to extreme levels, like the Hulk, to actually outmuscle Peter. As to why we don't see the full Hercules type feats so easily? Depending on the canon it's a mix of self-control, mental blocks, and any other physcially draining factors that stop Peter pulling off immense feats of stength so casually.

Hey Emme! Shout out from the US Marine Corps! 28:50 He tried to but I think he hung up on him b/c he didn't want to get in trouble again. This movie is genius and I absolutely love your reaction to when Ned finds out he's Spiderman and when you find out that Michael Keaton is her father! Also the end of this movie when May finds out he's Spiderman is really funny too huh!? Anyways Love your reactions Emme! Can't wait to watch more! By the way, I don't remember but I told you in a comment you should do a movie review w/ @Whimsory! She is awesome, I think she's your twin in another life! Plus I want credit for you guys becoming best friends! Kekekek Kek = Lol it's a world of warcraft thing!

Took long enough for Homecoming to come home to Disney+. No pun intended. Far From Home and No Way Home will be added later this year. The Incredible Hulk getting added yesterday makes me even more sure.

Hello😆, Donald is playing Aaron Davis who is the Prowler in the comics. Also the uncle of Miles Morales. Notice he mentions his nephew is waiting for him. Remember for later.

Spider-man is one of the strongest heroes in marvel. He literally pulls his punches when fighting villains, there's a story arc in the comics where Doc Oct takes over peters body and punches a dudes jaw off. Like completely rips it off that's when he realizes Peter never uses his full strength

Spiderman is super duper strong. There's a comics run where Doc Ock ends up in control of Pete's body and he punches a guy's jaw off by accident and has to deal with the reality that Spiderman has pulled every punch he ever threw.

It’s kind of weird that everyone thinks of Peter as a teenager when he has been an adult in the comics for like 50 years or more now.

I know, there is a lot of Peter's character arcs that the films could explore beyond him growing up. His later work as a teacher. His rehabilitation program for convicts HE initially put away. I guess it's because, unlike a lot of the heroes, Peter is one of the go-to heroes to help establish a coming-of-age story, given he WAS a teenager at the start, and several of his most famous early storylines reflect that. Would be really cool if the Live Action series ever touched on an older Peter. I was quietly hoping Tobey McGuire's reappearance might've alluded to that a bit in his cameo.

dont mind the "8 Years later" in the start of the film..its an error..the events of Avengers happened in 2012 while the Civil War happened around 2016..hence its only 4 years apart.. its an error from the studio (Sony).. you already watched No Way Home? i guess, you already watched the Amazing Spiderman films too..but the premise of how the events of No Way Home happened is on Phase 4.. yes, Tony returned the Stark-Enhanced Spider suit..you'll see the new suit soon.. so excited for the next movies..

Marvel canon.. up until about the mid 70's when they began bringing in new heroes, Spider-Man was the 4th strongest. The only ones stronger than him were Hulk, Thor and Thing, in that order.

You may notice a time discrepency at the start of the movie. It starts right after the Battle of New York in the first Avengers, which occurs in 2012, then there's an "EIGHT YEARS LATER" time jump, which puts this movie in 2020. However, that can't be the case because Captain America: Civil War happens in 2016. Clearly, the "EIGHT YEARS LATER" text is an error, as only four years could've passed since the first Avengers. It also causes an inconsistency with Liz's age. She's 16 or 17 in the movie, which means she would've been 12 or 13 when she made that Avengers drawing. Would a 12 or 13 year old girl draw something like that?

Ah, ah, ah... He was bitten by a genetically altered spider. Big difference. Not. Back in the 60s, superheroes were created from some form of radioactivity, from Spider-Man's radioactive spider, to Daredevil's radioactive waste, or the Fantastic Four being exposed to cosmic radiation. It was their version of "magic." These days the "magic" is genetic manipulation.

2:59 oh i hate that "8 years later" f*ckup😭😭 the directors admitted they got the time way wrong based on Vision's quote in Civil War which was referencing "8 years" from iron man 1 (2008) to civil war (2016) when he was talking for how long Tony was a public superhero and here it suggests that between avengers (2012) to homecoming (2016) it has been 8 years lol they got the Vision quote because this happens together with Civil War it's 4 years later*
