Miles Morales is back as Spider-Man - and this time he's only one of a great many - in a sequel that is every bit the match of it's celebrated predecessor.

UPDATE: Sony has updated the sound mix after many complaints, so that is fixed. They tried to downplay it, saying it was "only a small number of theaters" (it definitely wasn't) and that it is common to update prints after release (not usually).

Would like to also highlight Daniel Pemberton, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite composers. The music complements the movie perfectly in my opinion, amplifying the whatever is happening on screen but not overshadowing it.

Logging a comment here because I know Mathew's worked BLOODY HARD on this video and he deserves props for committing to it. Also: that Thunderdome reference deserves props. Good work, sir!

I loved this movie it gave me everything I ever wanted especially with seeing my favorite character Mayday parker spider-girl from the comics even as a baby adapted to the animation style makes me so happy that i can't wait to see beyond the Spider-verse, also a bonus I also really love Miles Morales Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen hoping becoming a couple in the future because that would be really awesome and tons of fun at least in my opinion.

I think the additional point of Across the Spiderverse was to set up, confront and resolve Gwen’s problem of running away from her guilt and figuring out how to circumvent a canon event involving police captains.

I need to know one thing - is Spider-Ma'am (there's a universe where Aunt May got bit instead of Peter) in this even just for a cameo?

To be fair, I suspect the sound mix is the result of the distribution, as opposed to the directors being at fault. Other than that, I wholly agree with the review.

In my screening, I thought the sound was drowned out by some noisy kids. It could have been a combination of both

Yep, Sony actually corrected it, which means it was a legitimate issue and something may have gone wrong somewhere.

Back to the Future Part II is too complicated with its story? Maybe it's because I was raised by Doctor Who, but I never got that impression.

And you probably didn’t even listen to the last 10 minutes of the review where film brain has a very good point about multiverse movies and throwing a bunch of fanservice references

Gonna have to disagree with that for various reasons. One, how is someone "getting tired" of something that's so new and has hardly been done that many times. It's a very new idea, not even 6 years old since it's first use and only about 4 or 5 other notable works have used the concept since. And two, if you're comparing this to zombie films than that very much sounds like a you problem, or more specifically a problem with you grossly overgeneralizing, because the concept of zombies in film have been one of the most re-invented, re-invigorated and most often re-contextualized, most versatile concepts to be done and repackaged in so many fresh ways, ever. Not to mention it's a concept that, between it's many, many fresh reinventions has come and gone again so many times, to make that complaint and that comparison both moot points.
