Spider-Man 4 Possible New Director

Jon Watt's whimsical, happy go lucky, approach in the home trilogy suited Peter Parker during his childish stages, constantly making mistakes. Now that he has lost everything and Spidey has to face things alone for the first time, it'd be nice to have a change in tone and a new director might be the answer to that.

The thing I love retrospectively about the Tobey movies are some of the lows are just do damn low. Spidermans a tragic charecter, they need to start showing that. Its what made Spiderman relatable and human, and in my personal opinion, why hes the most loved. People love a imperfect, flawed and broken hero.

I agree. Love the home trilogy, but it didn’t have that true spider-man flavor. I think that’s due to the fact that MCU spidey isn’t like the heart of New York. Traditional Spider-Man is the symbol of New York that the citizens look up to and admire. He has a special relationship with New York and its people. The MCU movies make it feel like he doesn’t really have that effect. He’s just like any other hero around the city, maybe worse than the other ones. I also feel there’s lack of action actually happening in manhattan itself. This reinforces how we don’t have a lot of memorable swinging scenes.

No issue with Jon Watt. But they should get a new director for the next MCU Spider-Man trilogy. I like some of things Jon Watt did in the Homecoming trilogy. But the next trilogy should be a little more serious and we should get more swinging action and fighting action. I really want to see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man go through tough times on his own without or minimal help.

My ideas for a new Spider-Man trilogy: *Movie 1: Spider-Man: Web of Memories* Synopsis: As Peter Parker resumes his life post-"No Way Home," a new threat emerges in the form of Scorpion, hired by the notorious Kingpin to dismantle Spider-Man. Peter, caught in a web of memories from different dimensions, encounters the mysterious Black Cat, adding complexity to his life. Meanwhile, Alistair Smythe, a brilliant but troubled scientist, is introduced, setting the stage for future conflicts. The movie explores Peter's struggle to balance his personal life with the responsibilities of being Spider-Man. The memories from alternate dimensions intensify the challenges he faces, and the enigmatic Black Cat becomes both an ally and a source of intrigue. *Avengers: Secret Wars* Synopsis: During a multiverse-spanning conflict known as Secret Wars, Spider-Man obtains a powerful black symbiote suit. The Avengers face unprecedented challenges as they navigate through different dimensions, battling formidable foes. Peter's connection with the black suit enhances his abilities but also raises questions about its origin and influence. As the Avengers confront the mysterious force behind Secret Wars, Peter grapples with the symbiote's dark influence on his personality. The movie ends with Peter returning to his world, black suit in tow, setting the stage for personal and superheroic struggles in the next installment. *Movie 2: Spider-Man: Web of Shadows* Synopsis: A new threat emerges in the form of the Ultimate Spider-Slayer, a creation of Alistair Smythe seeking vengeance against Spider-Man. Simultaneously, Peter's best friend, Ned Leeds, succumbs to dark forces, becoming the Hobgoblin. The black symbiote suit amplifies Peter's inner demons, leading to internal conflicts and external threats. The city plunges into chaos as Spider-Man battles the dual threats of the Spider-Slayer and Hobgoblin. In a moment of clarity, Peter sheds the symbiote suit, symbolizing his rejection of its corrupting influence. The movie sets the stage for the final confrontation with Kingpin and the resolution of lingering conflicts. *Movie 3: Spider-Man: Web of Destiny* Synopsis: In the epic finale, Spider-Man faces the ultimate showdown against Kingpin, now revealed as the mastermind behind the orchestrated chaos. Hobgoblin, driven by personal vendettas, becomes a formidable adversary. As Peter confronts his enemies, MJ regains her memories, adding emotional weight to the conflict. In a climactic battle, Spider-Man overcomes the odds, defeating both Kingpin and Hobgoblin. The city is saved, and Peter's relationships are mended. The movie concludes with Peter and MJ embracing a renewed sense of destiny, having faced the shadows of the past and emerged stronger than ever.

i feel like so many people say "jon watts spiderman movies have no flavor or style" and only because they see flavor as just visuals and not actual direction In my opinion, jon watts handles tenseion and stakes better than anyone else in the mcu by far and thats where his style is put in. Into those plot twists, those quiet scenes, the tension. He has flavor but its more in his direction and pacing and especially in the editing room... but i do understand the people who think he lacks in the visuals department, i dont disagree with that at all.

0:52 Spider-Man homecoming actually has a lot of flavor. You gotta appreciate the little things like Peter and May get ready for prom, Peter learns how to tie a tie, Spidey helping a lady get directions, flash saying thats not spiderman that’s just Ned in a red shirt”, or Ned saying “I was watching porn”, Peter being freinds with his local deli owner. Spider-Man homecoming is actually (to me) what Spider-Man is supposed to be character wise. Besides all the tech and iron man stuff you can feel the love in this film

I’m sort of worried for Spider-Man 4, I just want it to be a really good movie about Tom’s Peter being a street level hero again, classic Spider-Man stories, and since they set up Daredevil in NWH they should follow through on that with this movie, no multiverse stuff. When you see Marc Webb and Raimi they made you feel like Spider-Man, and they made you feel like you were along for the ride and used every shot to enhance the emotion or suspense. The Webb duology and Raimi Trilogy look stunning, Watts just looks flat with bland coloring, bland transitions, and almost no web swinging scenes. Jon Watts made Peter's story in the mcu about a kid coming to terms with the fact that the life he once envisioned for himself was never within his grasp, something everyone comes to terms with at some point. At the end of the day he had no one but himself to pick up the pieces of what was left of his life. Started with Peter thinking being Spidey was the best thing ever and ending by learning the hard way the sacrifice and responsibility it takes to be Spider-Man. Now while the movies did have flaws, I still love them with all my heart. So I won't be completely pissed if Watts returns, but I think Spider-Man is on a fresh new start, I think a new director with a new vision and style should take over, but thank you Jon Watts for directing my favorite MCU trilogy!

John Watts Spider-Man movies are okay I just wish they weren't made to sell toys and instead be actual movies but I still think they're fun and entertaining and no way home is one of the best Spider-Man movies I ever saw

I don’t want watts to come back you’re right, his Spider-Man movies are emotionless. It’s not the Spider-Man he we all know and love. It’s just corporate Spider-Man.

Drew Goddard is an amazing talent in many ways, but anybody who's seen Cabin In The Woods knows there's nothing he did that stylistically stands out, from his directing/shots. It'd be Jon Watts 2.0 lol

Jon Wats best spider-man movie was Homecoming; every film after felt more generic than the last. Would love someone else’s take on spidey to give us better action & drama.

@@Shahriyararin63 Wow, the “it made more money so it’s objectively better” argument isn’t really a sound one. By that logic most marvel movies would be better than movies like Godfather Pt. II, Schindler’s List, Fruitvale Station. Popularity is not an indication of quality

Jon Watts first 2 movies are okay hut No Way Home is perfect. I have nothing against him, it's just having the same director over and over again can get stale. New chapter for Spider Man so new director and creative team. Having Jon Watts, is basically playing safe. Drew Goddard directing the next trilogy would be a 2nd chance to be in a Spider Man universe. He is a good director and has a good track record

Sam Raimi did great with his version of Spider-Man but what he did with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness was such a major let down for me. They hyped that movie up so much and was even describing it as the first marvel horror movie. The visuals were stunning but the story and how it was executed was a massive failure in my opinion.
