For me personally this is the best version of venom. When he’s an enemy he’s menacing and a challenge, as an ‘ally’ he’s goofy and helpful.

Yeah i know people defend tom hardy version by saying he is also goofy in the comics but not ALL THE TIME. When he is menazing he IS menazing not just deadpool doing a coockie monster voice. Kinda like tom and jery talking, yes they talk when the comedic moment demands a quick talk not talk all the friggin time like in the movie

This game introduced me to Venom and also to super hero video games. This game was fun and has an amazing story with cool boss fights. And that’s why this game will always be one of my personal favorites

Never thought Venom was a respectable fan for Captain America back when I was a kid.

Brings me back memories from my childhood, it's like looking at an animated series of Spider-Man. I still have this game on ps1.

The way Venom speaks in this game makes me think that Venom from the movies was based off this version of the character. The way Venom was listing people who could've been involved really makes me think of Venom in let there be Carnage.

Man, that Monster-Ock was intense just WATCHING it 😳 😂

This game was incredible! I ran this on my crappy old PC in software mode that could barely get 10 fps but I still played it and loved it to death.

90s kids know how precious this game was ❤❤❤❤

Good memories. Here's hoping the Venom rematch this year will be equally memorable

This is one of my most favorite PS1 games, alongside Resident Evil 2, SmackDown2: Know Your Role, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil Survivor (although plenty of RE fans say it sucks, I kinda love it since it's my very first RE game), Silent Hill, Digimon Rumble Arena, and of course SpiderMan 2: Enter Electro.

Once upon a time, this was the only game I had for the PC. It ran terribly, stuttered like hell, but I absolutely loved it. For some reason whenever I would get past the scorpion fight, the game would crash to desktop. so i would just play those first two levels and the boss fight over and over again. Good times.

I miss this game. It doesn't measure up to the Spider-Man games we have now, but I'd play this again

I love that cutscene that plays before first Venom boss fight. Venom: Where'd Spider-Wuss go? Spider-Wuss! Come out and play! Spider-Man: Tag! (as he jumps off Venom's head)

Monster Ock scared the living shit out of me as a kid lol that chase was too intense 😂

Even to this day i have never felt the same level of terror as i did as a kid running from Symbiote Doc and hearing him scream behind me😂

True since the PS1 Spidey doesn’t have the web lines draw on his suit and the bosses faces were like “meh” also Black Cat wasn’t wearing an mask

The dreamcast versions is SO GORGEOUS it really looks like a dream

Still think this is the best spiderman game, game was hard Lots of attack combos r there instead of just left clicks and right click counters :( I wish the new spiderman games had much more than just left click and right click spams Definitely not saying theyre bad but thie game was much more hard and fun

You gotta be kidding me. It’s fine to have a bias for this game from nostalgia value and it’s understandable to prefer a game simply for being *harder…* but you are way off base if you’re saying the insomniac games don’t have depth to them. Those games made you feel like the web swinger both exploring the city and during fights. They had stealth aspects and an array of tools to pursue different play styles. Yes you can just roll through encounters mashing counter and beating enemies down with finishers but if that’s the only depth you found it’s because you were unimaginative when playing. Games don’t and shouldn’t have to force you to pursue specific play styles to reach their goals. Games that give every player a different experience on multiple play-throughs are true gems.

@@ammash3000 and im sorry whats so imaginative about stealth taking down enemies? The most fun part about these games are smooth web swinging. I used to jump in to a group of guys just because it was too boring to stealth takedown most of them and you always have that web retreat, which lets you escape even if you takedown infront of people and just hide again and you can do the same thing over and over again.

@@magic4694 I’m sorry but I legitimately don’t understand what this game has in terms of a combat system that the Insomniac games lacks, both freedom wise and in terms of variety. You can web enemies up or punch them… and when you are attacked you can either dodge, jump out of range, or counter.

Loved the daylights outta this game back in the day. Still have it surprisingly 15+ years later though it was on the N64 Not PS1

Different game versions have different quirks. Although the title says PS1, this is definitely not the PS1 version, ock and carnage are obscured in most versions.

Had this game for Nintendo64 and venom and carnage did not look anywhere near as scary lol glad I had that version
