Spicy dog throws tantrum at groomers

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Some dogs are reactive at the groomers due to fear. Fear and stress can be observed by some signs including lip smacking, panting, trembling, rapid eye movement, and a few others. In Max's case he has no signs of stress or fear. This tells me that Max believes he is the main character, and anyone and everyone should comply to his wants. Sometimes young doggos need a firm verbal "no" to teach them boundaries in the grooming salon. This type of behaviour needs to be worked on at home with the owner and possibly a trainer if necessary. I do believe Max made progress today and will only get better with time. He is very young still, and his owner is a first time dog owner. They are both still learning!

He picks up behaviours quickly and responds to handler’s emotions and tensions. Basically, if you’re anxious, he’ll be anxious. If you’re confident, he will realise he hasn’t actually got anything to worry about. But as with any dog, he needs boundaries, and needs someone to tell him (for example) that just because he has 6 foot of leash, he can’t ignore the human on the other end of it. He thrives on consistency and walks all over my parents because they let him get away with behaviours that I do not.

They brought put toys on request by name and put them away. One if them also learned to trick me out of my favorite club chair so he could sit in it. I only fell for it once but he still demonstrated thinking skills. Cockers are the sweetest family dog breed but the poodle breed mixed in makes them smarter for sure! I lost my Cocker Merlin in November 2019. He was the cutest and not bitey at all. Pretty smart too but also stubborn as heck lol Last week I lost my second dog Denver, he was a Collie Mix amd the sweetest soul. I miss them both so much. Dogs are the best.

My cocker is very smart. So we’re the two before this one. Soft mouth, protective of their babies, and Never aggressive. So sweet it melts one’s heart.

Yeah I had a really smart cocker spaniel growing up so I looked it up to see...they are known as smart dogs. Our dogs are vindicated!

Thank god there's a groomer that is honestly showing what some dogs can be like in the groomers ! A lot of groomers would not do this dog, well done to you for showing how to deal with him ,next time he'll have a bit more respect.

Dang I’m offended she called a cocker spaniel brainless and I don’t even have a cocker spaniel. My neighbours had one when I was a kid growing up, Lady, so sweet and kind. Gentle. Always wanted one growing up.

@@user-jf7ej5py1u mine was smart too. She was all black with a lil bit of white on her chest. She was my best friend. My niece and I was outside playing and she was at the window. She thought my niece was fighting me. She almost came out that 2nd story window at her.

Aaw!😍 YAY!😁👍👍 I genuinely *THANK YOU* 🤗💖 for the CLEAR, CALM, CONSISTENT & FIRM (yet NOT aggressive!) manner in which you communicated with Mr. Max! You obviously helped him to recognize (at least for this visit) that he is safe with you & you're just trying to help! Well done!
