Spicing Up Your Scales with Blueridge Cabin Home

In this video, I cover how to combine some advanced scales and new licks along with a melody line. I also go over how to take a standard melody line and add some blues licks, Monroe licks, couplets, and personality in general.

I really love your tuts on the mandolin. One suggestion is to get rid of the background hum. It makes it difficult to hear your voice properly with hearing impaired people like me. A free program called Handbrake rids humming and other background disturbances. Thanks for all your work.

May I ask: What pick do you use? Thank you for your time. A wonderful lesson!

I enjoy a variety: blue chip, wiggens, chris thile signature pick, tortoise alternatives. Something thick and triangular with more rounded edges are great for me!

Your lesson is appreciated but would be much better if you dropped the speed by 50%.

@@jblader111 yes, and I often do, but I should have been more clear in my comments. It might be more helpful if you described what you do more slowly - especially for thicker headed people like me . Again many thanks. 👍

@@peterritchie2990I agree, play it slow and explain it, then speed it up. Good tutorial though, I like it
