Been using Spekrum RC for the last decade; parkfly foamies, IC balsa, some large 45cc petrol fixed wing and gas turbine jets. All good and reliable. This next generation of DX uses open scource software (google android) which changes the whole Spekrum ease of use. The price is also staggering at £1,500 and recievers are well above pocket money prices. I have moved to open scource and love it! OpenTX, Radiomaster TX16S does all that this does and is easier to use at a fraction of the cost, transmitter £150 and good recievers with telemetary £15.

I received my ix20 today. very impressed.like all the features .back sliders are big . changed to mode one. flying for 45 years. my resources say will be a screen protector soon.has many switches . trims ect. Keith. Australia

You coming over to spectrum from futaba you must remember that the expo settings are opposite. On spectrum - expo is more sensitive and + expo is less sensitive near center stick.

Nice buy! Futaba must be shocked ! Was going to go Spek but so many dead stick chatter stories about them. thought horrifies me of pounding my 1/4 Dora into the earth after 3 years building! but i'm sure I can with my Sg14 the also ! lol. Best wishes and enjoy !

Wow 10,500 mah battery that will be great. Futaba big problems like the 14MZ when I fly I have to change my batteries all day what a pain. Might get this radio. Thanks great review

That transmitter is crazy

To change the center point of your aux switch... You can use the BALANCE function. It will change the center point without affecting your set end points.

I have found the ix20 .with practice is easy to use .in Australia spektrum is popular .cost me $2100. but is a xmas gift to myself . most radios are similar these days a bit here or there in each one .but all still do the basic controls. flying spektrum now 7 years. not even a glitch . keep well .Keith Australia

What stick/gimbal modes does this radio have and how do you change them?

There is a flap system setup. It’s in aircraft type, wing type. Then flap system will show up.

You would need something like the AR20310T 20 channel receiver. Spektrum also offer expansion receivers. Thanks for watching!

I'll buy it when it comes with 20ch. receiver as a stock.

Can you turn off that touch switch thing?

Futaba has really fallen behind on the tech side of things. I'll always have my Futaba gear but decided to go ahead and make the switch. So far the iX20 is much more intuitive than my 16sz. Spektrums Smart batteries and telemetry set ups are also very promising. Thanks for watching

Bledsoe Trains & RC I fly planes and have never had problems with Futaba and find the programming easy .I have witnessed too many signal glitches with Spektrum to rely on them and they didn't get the dx20 and ix12 sorted out before release.

@@interman7715 Nothing against Futaba. Like I said I'll be keeping what I already have. Personally ive seen signal glitches with both. Also keep in mind there are many more Spektrum receivers being used now than Futaba..so that will definitely play a part in what issues you see percentage wise. Ultimately, use whatever fits you best!

Is the screen made of glass or plastic, would you please confirm? Thanks

It feels like glass to me with a plastic covering. Hard to say. I wish they were more specific about it besides just saying its an LCD

🌏🗼🐨 i put a computer screen saver on. i cut to size. works fine . still waiting for spektrum to have one .Keith Australia

Look into the digital switch setup for your flaps, or any other function that requires specific channel values at a given switch position. Works wonderfully for setting gyro gains to a channel output without having to screw around with subtrim and end points.

I actually found the flap section shortly after I made this by changing the wing type, so that worked out. Thanks for the tip

40% battery loss in 24 hours, lol. 10,500mAH battery (simple 1S3P battery) killed in such low time is ridiculous IMO. I get 26H run time on my 2S-3400 18650 ($10 pack), I leave my Tx on all the time I am at the flying field. Boots in 3 seconds.

Is nice looking remote. But I will stick with my 9 and 12 is enough for me. Hmmm 🤔 I wonder who will need 20channel. Please buy a 20channel airplane ✈️
