I went from 20se, (5 yr old $2K tx), to tx16s max2 with aluminum gimbals, to ix14. Everything I remembered from the 20 is gone. I'm the only 1 we fly with that can setup, maiden, & test others planes with the ppl I fly with. So now I'm back 50% with spektrum cause I love my tx16s! Heck, can't take it with ya🤷‍♂️🤯!

Sir, I have long and strong technical background from technician to degreed engineer in electronics, nuclear reactor operation, mechanical, aeronautical arenas. I've performed education/training in most of those areas. I have spent a lot of time watching Spektrum/Horizon Hobby created "educational videos" here on KZread. I did so because their, manuals from the very beginning, were obviously written by very informed , knowledgeable people who can't "teach" because everything to them is "intuitively obvious." They wave their hands, make some noise, then say read the manual if you want to know more. I have a new definition of frustration.... I've watched 3 videos of yours and have learned more than I have, in total, with the corporate blah, blah that know what their doing but can't tell you how to cross the street. You actually EXPLAIN. You can't cover every detail but what you have covered is actually understandable and, better yet, USABLE!!! I know the effort it takes to put together the informative lessons that you put out and I have a deep appreciation of your investment of time. THANK YOU!!!

BD, would you consider doing a video from start to finish with this radio for something like a E-Flight viper or similar. I have been using a DX9 for years, and this radio has been rather confusing. I like my new IX 14 and appreciate your tutorials. I have something specific for you to cover. In setting up a twin electric with differential thrust, how can I get my throttle cut switch to affect both throttle channels? So far, I have not been able to figure this out or find any good info on it pertaining to this radio. Thanks.

There's a few ways to do that. Y the esc's, mix in rudder with esc's. Just depends on how many channels u have + how many mixes u have.

@@old-rcplane-phart It's not that simple when you need to use differential thrust. I found a method on RCG from a guy named "Basser" that finally worked.

Could I use this with RC land vehicles? I hate the wheel transmitters and I’ve been trying to find a stick that I could use on my losi trucks.

Uses a different protocol so would need different RX than surface vehicles normally use.

Spektrum can work with Lemon Rx or Admiral receivers too.

Hi BD just got my IX14 sometimes I get an error message that say error loading air ware power off for 1 minuet. Have ever received this? Next question I did not see the Apprentice STS in the model photos. thanks for the help

Its something that happened on the IX12 too. Its on the Android side of it. The transmitter itself and the joysticks and switches are completely separated from the Android system, just for reasons like that. Obviously you can't reset the controller if you have a Model in the Air. But if it keeps happening I would do a fresh install of the lastest Firmware again and Airwave files if separate.. Seems to be a semi common issue. You could also google and see what others have found. Put in a support ticket with Horizon/Spektrum. Maybe there's an issue that needs to be fixed and updated.

What is the battery life on the TX ??

Plenty of life.I fly 4-6 days before charging.Also i dont let it get down to low level either.

Think the iX14 is significantly better than the NX10?

Both good radios. NX can configure about anything you want and up 10 channels. Ix14 is more refined / novelty with bigger/color/touch screen.Also the Graphic user interface feels better and more details.Apps if you want to use them.NX is good all around value and does it job which is configure and fly. iX14 is step up in technology all around.
