After hearing this band on Life Is Strange it has now become one of my favorite bands, really loving it.🖤

At my bands first gig we played this song first in our set, and since then it has now become our thing to play a speedy Ortiz song to open our set every time we play. Hands down my favorite tradition

i came from a NME vid of them doing a cover of Blur's Bugman, and it was the first time i heard of Speedy Oritz, and every time i listen to their songs it reminds me of Blur tracks their style from their early 90's stuff like Leisure to there late 90's tracks. its great

+Josh McCoy I have no idea. Should be a fun show. Its a pretty good line up. The lead singer from two inch astronaut is crazy talented. I kinda wish the band "Bully" was included in this line up. They all have kinda the same vibes. All of these bands have some kinda weird non commercial appeal, inspired by underground grunge and catchy chord melodies. They all want to express some kind of 90's feel but get stuck in that era. Its way too cool and weird. Just plan nostalgic! Should be fun. Are you going?

+Tania Gonzales Definitely have a 90s grunge/indie feel... Veruca Salt, Liz Phair... I have tickets to the show, but if they're just opening at Black Cat we might head to 9:30 club after for La Sera for the late show. Rare to get a couple great bands so close on the same night. I like Hop Along, but I'd Uber a few blocks for La Sera. My hunch though is that next month Speedy will be the headliner for the tour and that will be the deciding factor.

Oh cool, right on! I havent bought tickets yet. Hopefully they dont sell out. lol! I never heard of La Sera. To be honest, not much of a fan of speedy, as its way to spacey, half as talented and not stable enough for me to sit or stand to listen to for an hour or maybe 30 minutes. The only song from Hop Along, that i like the most is " The knock" I totally made new lyrics to that song. So awesome! How much are you a fan of speedy?! the lead singer has a nice rack. lol!

Her lyric and vocal style (and their song style in general) remind me a lot of Neil Gust's stuff in Heatmiser. I'd always preferred Elliott Smith's Heatmiser songs to Neil's, but I think maybe something about the female vocals fill in whatever Neil's stuff was lacking, for me personally, because this shit is dope!
