That was excellent! I've never heard of Speedy Ortiz! I love the creeping-funk/rock sound with a touch of darkness/grit. You guys rawk! Thank you, Internet!
I am so glad that this exists

Just noticed this video in my recommendations and I'm glad I checked it out. First time I've heard of both KEXP and Speedy Ortiz. A two for one for me! Subscribed and hope to continue hearing some great music for some great musical influence. Thank you KEXP!
I love this band! Amazing performance.

Ricardo Vergara arent they just the fuc kin best. i love Sadie so much.
I still haven’t found a better indie rock female vocalist and it’s been 6 years. They rock even harder live than on album. Crumb and Speedy Ortix would be my dream collab
solo guitar + vocal = this is hard!
Love this band
such perfect music!!
I can't get over this band!!! ;_;
Great music. Really great!!!
I love it so much omg
it is so hard to write lyrics...
Very nice interview, one of the most pleasant of the channel.
the last two song are amazing!!
Came across these guys through Spotify who are on Summer Cannibal's playlist. So far digging the sound and the lead singer's voice :)

Really love this their new album. I never heard of SO before Wilco gave them a shout-out recently. I especially love My Dead Girl.

Murilo Marin that sounds like a good show. thee oh sees are an interesting band. i used to listen to coach whips which has thee oh sees guitarist in it. charly bliss opened for Veruca Salt......i dont know if you know them....they are a 90's band with two girl singers......very rockin.....im sure an influence on a lot of these great female artists.
i like that sound and garmony guys, please, just continue working, you are cool i will be watching you
Best Introduction ever.
everyone is amazing but this live version of Raising the Skate made me appreciate just how tight the drumming is on that song in particular

Lovin' the Wilkins t-shirt!
Am I the only person who hears early 90s Aimee Mann in this band? Great songwriting.
Dooooope. She's MASTERED the sick of life look.
this is nice.
dope
this is fucking awesome
Checked them out while they were opening for METZ, and did not expect to have dug them so much as I did. Even having met Sadie D afterwards. Mainly out of impulse from a side comment before one the tracks as she mentioned one of her favorite bands was U.S. Maple. This had then risen much of an already growing respect from both music and her or their inspirations. I too have created many-o-tracks that are a wide medley from EXperimental to Noise -core, to no wave, to shoegaze punk, funk fusion...blah..o blah, to bland...hah haha...Speedy Ortiz is definitely a great listen...No doubt
yay rural! yay woods!
Theyre like algebra and quiche ,once you catch on your ok i can do this :)
Stephen Malkmus and Liz Phair had a baby.
Cool
The second song reminds me of Built to Spill, but in a very good way and not in a "they blatantly ripped off another group" sort of way.
Where is the screwdriver gUy

Rishabh Malviya as much as i wanna agree with you.... i just cant hahah but im very glad to see a Sonic Youth reference to them! they do have that youth feel to them. its rare to hear or see someone write or even mention SY, its a band people really have to dig for. Hello from a houston SY fan *waves hello* KILL YR. IDOLS!

Rishabh Malviya i dont know about that. speedy is much better imo. early speedy maybe have ties with the noise rock. but the new album is more polished imo. charly bliss is another up and coming band that i very much like.

Angel Cerda watch the video for dirty boots and then watch the video for lazy eye by silver sun pickups.......very strange similarities....wonder if it was intentional.

miked4309 i think it was intentional hahah! Sonic Youth has influenced so many people in this world but yet they are still quite the dig to find... A gem

Angel Cerda its almost the same video. when i saw Lazy Eye i had dejavu ...it took me a minute to remember what band i had seen do this before. thurston moore's band played near by me but i missed out. i did see veruca salt and charly bliss tho....that was the highlight of my year....and ive seen some great bands this year.......lots of 90's bands getting back together..i love it.
shee looks like a french singer Christine Lidon, back in the early 90's
i've got here after listening to her song 'buck me off' from itunes customized new music. she's also pretty!!
she is so strangely cute

omg Cheryl is so cute
She's even prettier in real life.
Man, I wish the sound guy would have listened to their record first and turned down the lead gtr in the mix.
She reminds me Pakunoda from HunterXHunter (check it out).

+ztaylor9891 This sort of weak '90s grunge music would eventually lead to macroagressions. I saw their whiny 'though shall not' list they post at shows.

miked4309 I take umbrage over the fliers they handed out at gigs trying to basically penalise any audience member that isn't of some minority, hence the 'microagressions' comments this band attracts.
why is she so hot

calamine on acid .
Hate to mean, but IDK why No Below is just so much better than all of their other songs?

Nice sound from Speedy O'. BS PC comments killing the passion. I'm outa here.
Not nearly as catchy or rocking as the last album. Bummer.
Very intersting band with lots of cool elements need to be more simple in arrangement and composition. So much things can be boring very fast.
Did she get a nose job????
Something of a vocal range, but short sighted at best. Wrap your words around timeless art. Timeless this is not.
crap.
The vocals don't do it for me...Seem off in some way. Kinda rape my brain and can't enjoy. Well, fuck.
