Such a great video ,my old stomping ground was weymouth speedway!first saw the wizards in 77 then religiously followed the Wildcats up until its closure in 84,used to love going along to watch the training schools, such amazing footage of the old stadium, priceless! The rider with the black helmet was Rob Mather a wildcat reserve, anybody know who the guy in red and white leather was who was trapping like a god all afternoon?

I love watching speedway videos from the glory days in the 80s I used to be a regular at cradley until it shut when everyone was in the bar after the racing had finished I was one of the young kids outside with black dirt upto the knees running round pretending to be simon cross and watching the 2nd halves hoping that one day I'd be on the other side of the fence (I did ride very briefly but I was never any good) it's sad when you think of how many speedway teams we've lost over the years in my honest opinion televised speedway and the grand prix series has killed the sport In England

Loved to practice there.. lot closer than Hackney. Anyone remember Lew Coffin and Odd Fossengen. My mentors in the 70's
