I had done the Final Test before doing any of the Bowser levels, so that was the first time I had seen the ship and Missile Meg. When I got to the Bowser levels, I was like, "Oh... I think the game assumed I would do these first..."

Same here! I cleared it all pre-Bowser in hopes of a World-Star, World-Castle, etc. Like with a previous game.

He used to be a top Mario Sunshine runner and he also did Mario 3d World and some SMM2 runs. In retrospect I probably should've put that somewhere in the video tho so I appreciate the feedback. It's also fair to expect higher level gameplay but to add more context at that point he's 12 hours into the stream the day before the game released.

I waited to 100% the game before watching other peoples' playthroughs, and I genuinely forgot that the playing online thing was an option 💀 beating the final final challenge without the help of standees was BRUTAL, but that final badge you get from beating it was well worth it :) I might try and 100% it again with those online features, since the chaotic camaraderie (or lack thereof) seems like such a vibe!

This game is on a different level unlike anything we've seen from Mario before. I had all but lost interest in Mario ever since Super Mario World but this game has reinvigorated my interest. I hope to see a sequel.

This game really did take influence from Mario Maker... they took the music levels from Maker and made them into actual levels in the game but they aren't just auto levels.

He was able to beat the final level without assists, I just didn't put it in the video because it was repeated content. He is a former top sunshine runner and has runs in 3d world and SMM2. I probably should've had this mentioned that somewhere in the video so I 100% appreciate the feedback from you and the other people who mentioned this.
