What a coincidence! I will say though there's a good number of other things you can prepare for VPR/PIC for big exp. Your entire challenge log is just sitting there! You may not be able to reliably level via normal queues, but Leveling Roulette is sure to have a chance to pop, Guildhest too. At the least, Leves and FATE prep if you don't want to outright grind FATEs on launch.

That is a very good point! The challenge log is often forgotten (prime suspect example: me 😂), but Indeed, you could make sure you are just one duty away from several log tasks finishing, and then just one leveling roulette might be all it takes! Same with the fates and leves!

My biggest tip that few mention. Do you squadron stuff. Higher end squadrons given "Squadron Manuals" that increase XP gain by 15-20% for 2 hours. It doesn't stack with FC buffs, but it means you can get more XP on a crafter or gatherer, while the FC buff is set to combat. It's deceptively very powerful.

Another channel said you could stack Squadron Manuals and Crafter/Gatherer Manuals you get from scrips, but I thought it was either one or the other. Any idea if that’s the case? I’d test it, but I’m too stingy to experiment with it 💰💰💰

@@DK-sw8uz So, like doesn't stack with like, and greater always overrides. So if your FC boosts combat and say gathering, at rank 2, your squadron manuals for Combat and Gathering won't work, because they don't stack and are the same "level." If you only have rank 1 buffs, the squadrons are better overall, so using them will override them. If your FC uses Rank 3s, they are better than the Squadron buffs.

My plan is get Viper and go ham leveling and learning the rotation. Yeah, it'll probably require me to do a lot of Trust/Duty Support, but I don't give a flying fig! We finally have a true dual-wielding badass job and I'm going to learn to main it!

Well it means you are very ready certainly!

Leveling trusts is a good idea so you can skip the 40min dps que times while leveling painter and viper to 90

Something to note with Wondrous Tails is that you should turn in the book on the very rare occurance that you get three lines. This is because you can only get Gold Certificates if you have at least 1 job at max level. And I also have another way that you can prepare (that is admittedly more useful to those with all their crafters at levek 90): Save up Grand Company Seals to buy Grade 9 Dark Matter from your Grand Company (as those are needed to repair gear obtained in Dawntrail).

That is true, if you do happen to get a three line, which is exceptionally rare, might as well get the gold certificate! That's worth way more than half a level! And indeed, I had forgotten myself about the fact I will need different dark matter come dawn trail!

One thing I think is nice : preparing the glam for the job you're gonna use on main story quest. Since you are going to watch hours of your character in nice cutscenes, you want it beautiful, classy, s€xy, glorious, funny or cute, but you want it your way.

A very good point! I also know some players enjoy switching their character with fantasia but prefer to be one specific look for the msq, so getting that in order is a good idea too! 😊

One thing that I worked on for prep are the Tier 3 FC buffs for leveling and Reduced Teleports (both 15% at Tier 3). They can only be obtained through charging their respective aetherical wheels (Confrontation and Pilgrimage) and though the unprimed wheels can be bought off the mb, each takes roughly 3 days to charge in a wheel stand. I stocked up enough to have 30 days worth of each which took about 6 months of prep but theres still time for at least a couple of days provided you have an FC and either permissions to use the wheel stands, or convince someone who does to help out Other than what you mentioned about gear, I'm also using Grand Company Squadron missions to stock on the manuals for boosted crafting/gathering xp (20% boost). Worth noting that those overwrite any fc buffs of similiar nature so they wouldn't stack

That's very good advice! In extension of that for grand company squadrons, I am pretty sure you can get items that are equivalent to, for example, the heat of battle III buff, as well so that is also an option to prep with even if you can't access fc actions! 😊

For crafter, just start stock some shards, crystal and cluster. 10000s of each should be more than enough. You can stock some type or elements more depend on which crafter you happen to use most. Like if you do a lot of food, you would need more fire element.

I just started the video but already my favorite part is "What you *need* to prepare: *Nothing* lmao." That's exactly how I prepared for Endwalker: Absolutely nothing other than buying the expansion. But I think I might actually do some prep for Dawntrail since I've never really been able to prep for a new expansion! It's exciting.

I started in EW, so being caught up with a new expansion is completely new to me. I don’t want to burn myself out, but I’ll still be prepping a little to get a good head start.

Gil is used a currency because it is a natural energy source, and always a little warm to the touch. This is why Garlemald used it as currency even though Eorzea did as well, they may be enemies, but they aren't stupid! Also it just can't keep its shape, when you squeeze it and squish it between your fingers, almost like play-doh. Cold hard cash? Nope. Warm moldable gil. LMAO Really though, it's been shown in this and other FFs to be solid coins of various colors, usually brown, silver, green, or gold. It's very likely cold and hard.

Getting accessories for the new jobs is such a good idea. Will definitely be doing that!

I've been leveling my jobs, and I might try to pick up the pace because I still have... 4 jobs after I finish up AST today. On the bright side, leveling the different jobs is helping me figure out which jobs I really don't like playing.

For crafters specifically preparing like ~50 of each of the 88 Mats in HQ, the highest tier of "Glue" and Whetstones is something i'd reccomend since they are very likely to be used in the 90-92/4 recipes

The exp boost earring work up to lvl 90, meaning that you still get the bonus exp until lvl 91. at least that is how all the previous exp boost earrings have worked.

My prep work has been getting as much achievements as I can (within reason). Some of those achievements I just get from natural gameplay, others I work for. Right now I'm on crafter & gatherer achievements & 2 crafters are completely done for getting their glowy tools, I need 6 more crafters (just need blue glowy tools, I have all the gold tools) & then fisher. Oh boy, fisher. I might just save fisher for Dawntrail tbh. I've also been working on finishing all Anima weapons, as those are my favorite relics, even now. Almost done with that as well. Just need the healers, Monk, Bard & Ninja (Ninja is at second to last step). I tend to also hop on the hunt train from time to time so I can gear up my main job from 650 to 660 in a way I prefer, since I did take a super long break from the game & I came back about 2 months ago, so not fully geared yet. I'd loathe spamming alliance raids over & over again. Those 3 things are my current road map before Dawntrail atm.

It may be good idea to stockpile on grand company seals too, to grab all that dark matter as soon as you can. Also it is a good time to get all those tank achievements for running 700 duties each, because usually people just spam Deltascape 3.0 unsynced and ignore that juicy loot that you can exchange for gear and hand it in for seals...

I’m trying to cap bicolor gems from fates since my retainers are gatherers. Bicolored gems can usually be used to buy mats I’d normally send battle retainers out for. Between bicolored gem farming and Yo-Kai Watch, I am going to be very, very tired of fates, is what I’m saying 😅

Yeah I could imagine! There will also almost certainly be more shared fates stuff in dawntrail, so more fates you would kind of need to do!

For the journal, i would actually pick it up a few days after when you said to grab them. Especially if you are on a conquested world server. In case it takes a while to actually log into the game :) (i wasn't around when endwalker dropped but i remember watching my friends suffer in the tens of thousands long queue)

It depends a lot on when you log in, but given there's been upgrades to the servers since I believe, and well, endwalker also happened to land right around a particularly massive surge of players coming to the game, which further amplified the queue issues! However I can say those queues you could circumvent by logging in earlier in the day! 😊 But sure if you don't plan to play right at launch then that's also fine! Just keep in mind that wondrous tails journals don't last two weeks literally, they last from Tuesday to two Tuesdays forward, meaning they really last two weekly resets! 😊

One minor thing to help with leveling new jobs, if you’re like me, you may still have a bunch of side quests from Shadowbringers or Endwalker that are cluttering up your map. You can pick up to 30 of these on any job (only take 25-28 so that you have room to accept msq/job quests), complete them, and turn them in on any job for a little bit of extra exp for no effort. Also cleans up your older maps :)

My main prep targets are start and finish post ew content, finish leveling my samurai (currently 82) and unlock the massive amount of stuff I missed on route to finishing the 6.0 msq. If time still allows after all that I may level either my bard or a tank. Can't see me touching the new jobs till I at least get red or white mage to 100 (haven't decided on which one to do 1st yet)

With weekly reset, could you theoretically grab a wonderous tails on the 24th, but final monday of that reset week, turn it in on dawntrail release, and then grab that weeks wonderous tails after the 25th?

Yes you could! In fact, as long as you grab the first wondrous tails in the weekly reset before the one dawntrail releases in, you can do this. Something worth keeping in mind is that the servers are expected to be down for two whole days before dawntrail, so you don't have very long in the dawntrail release week to finish up that first wondrous tails from the week prior if you haven't already!

Mutamux materia upgrading, turn those worthless 10s into 11s and worthless 11s into 12s

That is a very good idea, especially if you play in a PC that might have a harder time with a lot of players when loading in. In fact, if that is the case, doubly so since the higher graphics might make it slightly harder!

I've started looking for a dawntrail static now but due to awkward scheduling its a nightmare finding a group I can actually join, I've only entertained groups that trial at MINE so its a better idea of how they actually play, annoyingly after searching for several weeks I've only found 2 groups and both declined me after a trial with no reason given, and I'm really worried I won't find one in time because of that awkward schedule conflict.

@@CaetsuChaijiChThats been mostly an overlap thats unintentional but I noticed, I live in the uk but play on NA servers because friends are there so I can't go super late, most of the groups I can find either raid too late or aren't advertising dawntrail specifically.

crystals/clusters is the main thing I want to save up. It’s the one thing I don’t really think about when crafting until I run out and go wtf? Oh yeah, crystals. Cool. The cost of crystals might be really high during the first several months.

Good point! If everyone is using the the elemental crystals on making the new gear and power leveling, they might eventually get run out the supply! And then having stock is smart! 😁

Its almost certainly not worthwhile, but you could *theoretically* farm WT second chance points to try and get 3 lines and get a gold certificate, since those can be stockpiled for a chest piece better than anything else. But considering its not a guarantee, and the fact that there's the much better use of the WT to instantly get a job to X1... yeah probably not worth it

Yes indeed, although if you already have a gold certificate, then it's value usually peaks to get the 5 materia slot chest pieces right when the raid tier begins!

I think one thing everyone should do before DT is actually to take a break. Not in a play something else dummy way but more in a don't burn yourself out in advance way. Before DT just don't play for a week or two. Let yourself get excited for the game again instead of just looking at a list of To Dos

Which also reminds me, I believe they said the game servers will be unavailable for two whole days before the launch, so it might be smart to have done any prep you want, including knowing what you will play instead, before that!

1.5 mil is, I would guess, not enough to buy all the things you will need 🤔 Typically you could easily need over 1 mil just for the gear, assuming you are planning to savage raid

If you aren’t a crafter, you could save some Gil by buying the raw materials needed for crafted gear and seeing if some kind crafter in your FC would be willing to make them for you. As was mentioned, pentamelding alone can get very expensive, especially since materia 11 & 12 will be in short supply due to being so new.

@@hassankadhim1996plan with 6-10 mill for an entire set. Made pentameld gear for my static at the start of EW and we came to an avg. of 7-8 mill for each set.

This slander for clearing with trusts makes me grumpy. The only reason ive been able to get all my dps done is cause of trust instant queue time. Sure, the dungeon takes longer, maybe 25-30 minutes instead of 15-20. But thats far more preferable than waiting 20-30+ minutes in duty finder, with another 15-20 minutes just doing it. At least one is actively doing something

And let me tell you, it is a very real possibility trusts or duty support will be the only option for a lot of players, speaking as someone who tried to level gunbreaker back when shadowbringers came out! 🤣 Tanks with estimated 10+ minute queues that just never resolved, imagine that!

And for people not used to the game or those who want to learn at their own pace, it's a blessing. NPC will show you how to resolve the mechs right. They will stop attacking and go where they have to. And they won't shout at the player bad things like other players can do. And they have specific moves and dialogs, funny at times. So yeah, for DPS jobs week one, I'll go for trust.

Collectibles will be set to 1k once you are level 90, not 91

My best advice for preparing for dawntrail is to grab some rum and a pina colada... But dont get so sloshed you can't preform in dutues.
